✫meraxis is finally allowed to leave the noldor den. smaug took meraxis on a "tour" to show her around the shenthais clan territory; he did do this, but it was also a bit of an excuse to get them out to a more private place to discuss meraxis' message. they are to start with the weakest links, the easiest members to target; the sindars.
✫primrosepelt, rasofreckle, & lacestyle lad all been on various patrols, buttercupstep & sproutspring had gone off for some sibling bonding. the entire family feels horrible as they find out that lemongrass died all alone. bubblesplash had no family to live on through her after her sudden and tragic death; however, she had been a well-known molly who had many friends in the clan and they certainly did mourn the loss of the fierce little falmari. barkthroat had been a part of the clan since it had been known as celestial beings, and while she never had any family in the clan, she was highly respected for her many years of hard service for the clan, and was mourned.
✫spritepaw joins the clan. meraxis is immediately suspicious over the young cat and vibrantly offers to be their mentor. spritepaw gets uncomfortable vibes from her but doesn't have much of a choice.
✫lunalove wanders across the clan border, making her way all the way into the clan's camp before being spotted casually wandering around. she is quickly identified as not a threat, brought before valentinestar. lunalove is viewed by many of the clan cats as a bit odd but overall harmless; she is "introduced" to spritepaw, the other "hobbit" that the cats assume she would know, as they are both supposedly "hobbits." lunalove doesn't even bat an eye or say anything that could become suspicious, noticing the split second of fear in spritepaw's eyes, and immediately chatting the teleri up about how she recognizes seeing her from a distance back in the hobbit homes.
✫late one night while everyone else is asleep, meraxis spends time following the scent of a sickly mouse. to her pleasure, she finds that the sick creature actually lead her straight to its colony, and finds a handful of mice that have the same ailment, whatever that may be. they are far easier to kill than a normal mouse, and so she has no time gathering a pawful of them. as she carefully made her way back towards the edges of camp, where her mate had taken her for their private conversations, she moved some pebbles, revealing bright red berries. she had asked the clan's noldors where to avoid for safety; she found that the southern edge of the gorge, while being slippery and full of poisonous snakes, also was known for bushes of holly berries, and had made her way down there in the cover of darkness the previous night to collect some. taking her time, she cut careful small holes into the mice, slipping a few inside of each abdomen before crushing the berries inside; the deep red would mix in with the blood of the creatures, blending in until it was too late to notice. and if any of the noldors scented the berries afterwards, it would easily be assumed that the mice had died from consuming the berries themselves. finishing her task, she made her way into the part of camp where the fresh kill pile sat, placing the poisoned mice near the top of the pile, on the side that the sindars den was located. she knew that in the morning, when the teleri gathered prey for the sindars, they always picked from that area; she had been watching carefully for over a week now to ensure this. she carefully makes her way down to the river's edge to wash herself carefully, removing any scent of what she had done, before making her way back up to the hall where the lordships slept and curled up at her mates side, having been given permission to reside with the high ranking cats due to their partnership. she found herself smirking as she fell asleep, eager to see what happened in the morning...
