Yeah, I love the song, and the story behind it. ^^ And thanks! I didn't really think the pets represented them that well... ^^;

It's still overcome; today is disappearing.

Lines of fragile, delicate data swarmed and buzzed in the walls, the blanket, the bed, their skin and hair and eyes. It shifted and grew and settled into founding blocks, masked with textures lovingly crafted, to form bit-by-byte a familiar room; the ceiling traced lines of zeros and ones, spreading over them like a wave in high tide. The floor painted itself with wood panels, the iron headboard became colder, the blankets softer and warmer. Where gaps of data were left, cracks of numbers and deep infinity, they quickly filled in.
The brothers lay in the center of this, curled on their sides, holding hands. They watched nothing but the other.
They were five and six.
"...Attenuate?" Asked Clear, the younger of the two. His brother squeezed his hand in response. "What does your name mean?"
Attenuate's brow furrowed slightly. Their Master sent them all sorts of information through the system; geographical coordinates, which then became towns, and towns to houses and streets. He sent them lists of creatures with long paragraphs about what they were. He sent them words- hundreds and thousands of words, some common and others obscure, in many languages; but He never gave them the definitions of their names. The children knew they were words; but they were words without meaning, and that bothered them.
{"Don't define yourself by your names," He had said, the day they'd downloaded a processor for sound. "Define your names by yourselves."}
"I don't know," said Attenuate, who then yawned and shifted further into the blankets. "You ask that every day..."
"I know, but, I keep wondering... Maybe we'll find out one day?" Clear looked down, knowing his brother disliked it when he tried to rush things. Attenuate responded by shuffling closer; they were both becoming too tired to carry on the conversation much longer.
"Yeah. Maybe."

{{They are both too injured for us to keep. They'll need to stay somewhere safe, long-term, without moving-}}
{Like where? There's nowhere safe in this place anymore. If they're too fragile to be kept here, then we have no choice but to throw them to the vultures. Literally.}
{{...I might have an idea.}}

Nothing is supposed to make any sense right now! :3 Ahaha, sorry. I can't go any further without spoiling some things, so give it a few days!

Penny sat on the worn wood fence in front of a pong sparkling in the full moon light, the owls where hooting and fireflies buzzed around her and James. She curled into his grey tee shirt and he put his arm around her narrow shoulders.
"Ok this couldn't get cornier." Penny said breaking the silence.
"What do you mean my lucky penny?" James asked brushing back Penny's liquid copper hair.
"Ok lets see, for starters your popular while I'm a loser. You lost your mom and I lost my dad, we meet at a summer camp and fell in love." Penny started out sitting upright on the fence, "And look at this corny area." Penny said waving her hand around.
James chuckled, "Yes very corny." he said jumping off the fence, "How about we make it worse?"
Penny rolled her dark cream eyes and jumped off the fence my James, her ruffled his light brown hair the stared into his amber eyes, James grin melted away and he smiled at the short girl. He leaned forward and his lips meet Penny's at the full moon shone on them. Fireflies buzzed around them as James broke away and stood behind the girl.
He leaned down and kissed her on her neck, 'Yes my lucky penny, very corny." his lips moved away from her pale neck to her ear, he brushed away a strand of her copper hair.
James whispered, "I can make this uncorny, if you want that is."
Penny smiled and squeezed his hand, "Of course James." she breathed.
James quietly sighed and pulled something out of his back pocket, "Your wish." while he said that he broke his hand away from Penny's and covered her mouth. James other hand swung around her small body and he plunged the knife into her heart, "Shhh shh my lucky penny." he said pressing his hand over her mouth harder and kissed her hair.
He held her like that until her warm heart stopped pumping, then he dropped her body and leaned down to fetch the knife.
James dropped down on one knee and whispered, "Your wish." then walked back to the dark camp site.
