“Arrow’s Night”
Piercing other hearts
when you’re unaligned
shots of arrows rushing by
If you fall to the ground
will the vultures soar above
in a peaceful reverence
to try and remember
a living being too scared to live?
Too scared to crumble and give in?
Too scared to rise and flourish?
If everything stagnates in fear
where will the river run to
if it’s stuck in place?
Like a paralyzed flight animal
everything chronically outside of your control
you shoot at anything but yourself
to negate powerlessness
You have everything and nothing
a polarity tensing
like the drawstring of a bow
If you aim at me
your hand won’t let go
to take me out of my misery
to let it pierce my chest
or to let me step away
to breathe and grow
When you realize you are me
and I am you
we fall to our knees in pain
holding an empathy
that tenses in alignment with our hearts
the perfect ascending
with an arrow flying free toward the moon
Piercing other hearts
when you’re unaligned
shots of arrows rushing by
If you fall to the ground
will the vultures soar above
in a peaceful reverence
to try and remember
a living being too scared to live?
Too scared to crumble and give in?
Too scared to rise and flourish?
