Hunting (Rainstorm); Rainstorm's patrol catches x2 scraps, x1 cat food, x1 rats, and x1 egg. Unfortunately, Skyfall, eager to hunt as a new Knight, was chasing a lizard, too intent on catching the small critter to notice she had run onto a road. The oriental had no clue till it was too late, as she was crushed beneath tires of an oncoming truck.

Whatever it was that enticed Ospreystar to go on patrol with the newest addition, Smogthroat, she couldn't say. The tom was quiet and one of the most apathetic beings she'd ever met. And yet... Something about him. She could mold him into whatever she wanted for the future. Her claws curled at the prospect of a formidable and loyal warrior that would do whatever she asked without a single question.

The two grey cats walked side by side and as Ospreystar opened her mouth to speak an unfamiliar voice echoed out instead, "Smaug, my darling brother!"

A feline crashed down onto a nearby dumpster lip, the rattling and banging making the two Midnight Lights' members jump. Yet another grey feline appeared before the duo and Ospreystar was shocked to see the spitting image of Smogthroat. Ospreystar chuckled lightly and glanced over at Smogthroat to see the tom glaring, "That's not my name anymore." he muttered. His expression held the small amount of emotion he had allowed himself.

The other cat bounded forward to throw his forehead against Smogthroat's shoulder, but the tom side-stepped so the stranger bounded a few tail lengths past them. The stranger turned with a loud purr, "I see you haven't changed a bit, Smaug," he bounded forward again and stopped by Ospreystar, "Who're you?"

Smogthroat put himself between Ospreystar and the stranger, forcing the newcomer to take a step back. Ospreystar was quick to note the minor difference in height between the supposed brothers - she also ruffled with pride as Smogthroat showed a display of protection toward her. Her pride grew as Smogthroat lifted his lip in a small growl, "This is Ospreystar. My leader. Back up, Sauron."

Sauron's eyes beamed and he mouth fell agape, "Ooooh, how fun!" Suddenly Sauron began to pout, "But... why didn't you bring me? You just disappeared one day; you know how worried I've been?"

Smogthroat sighed heavily, "You're annoying, Sauron, so we're our people. They never left me alone. I'm free with Ospreystar."

Sauron's eyes whipped to Ospreystar and he kneaded the hard cement as best he could, "Can I come be free with you?"

Ospreystar, who'd been quiet as the two quickly exchanged their mixed emotions and words, pricked her ears. She considered the situation carefully - Smogthroat had made it clear to her that he would protect her, even against his blood. She smiled lightly, "Sure. However, you have to accept the name Smokefur."

Sauron nodded quickly, "Absolutely! Smokefur it is." The newest member of Midnight Lights launched himself at Smogthroat with a purr and the two tumbled to the ground. Smogthroat was quick to push his brother off growl, "At least act like a dignified warrior," Smogthroat growled.

- Malibusky and Thorn lift the restrictions on hunting. The younger apprentices all excitedly learn the skill together. Meanwhile, Mercurypaw tackles the dreaded Climbing skill with encouragement from her mentor Thorn.
- Flamesight (he gave himself the name), the new cat, proves to be a chatterbox and quickly makes acquaintance with almost all the cats in the clan. The kits in particular seem to like him, and he plays with them under Pepperstripe's watchful gaze.
- Birchclaw and Splotchsun become mates, to absolutely no one's surprise. Nevertheless, everyone congratulates them!
