I nod respectfully, stepping through the portal and watching all manner of creature perk up to attention at my entry. My eyes alight with wonder. I wait for the animals to step closer, offering my hand for those with strong noses to sniff.

With two new companions at my side, I give a thankful nod to the one who brought me here. "Thank you. I'll cherish them, and I'll be sure to share word of your kindness with others!"

I look into the portal and notice many wondrous sights, stepping through my eyes wander through the beautiful landscape, and as I do so two magical beings take notice of me, one runs up and jumps into my arms, the other watches, shy, from a tree line, so I spend some time playing with the energetic one as I wait patiently for the other to gain confidence enough to approach me.
After a while they indeed gingerly approach, sniff my hand and then walk with me, as we head out of the portal, and the other now sitting on my shoulder, to the other side, and I say thank you for the experience I just witnessed, and I'll be taking these two with me.
