raindrops sat on their front porch, calmly strumming their somewhat tiny, raindrops-sized guitar. the small goob tried keeping themself busy by practicing a few songs, though it was hard for them to not be excited for the rest of the day.
upon seeing who they were waiting for, raindrops excitedly ran towards the gate, jumping upon a wooden stepstool to unlock it. “talia!!” they exclaimed as she walked into the yard. she was holding a woven basket decorated with ribbons, pins, and clay charms - handmade ones that must’ve been made with care and dedication. “come in!” raindrops happily said after setting down their guitar inside.
almost immediately, talia noticed an intricately decorated cake on the dining room table. as she looked towards raindrops, a smile began forming on her face. as she got closer to the dessert, she could start to truly see the details. fondant stars and ladybugs were delicately placed atop the turquoise frosting, and a variety of multicolored candies could be found on the sides. “this looks delicious!” after exchanging yet another smile with her friend, talia reached out for a hug.
“i made it because you were coming over!” mentioned raindrops. “oh, by the way,” they excitedly motioned towards the basket, “what have you brought?” talia opened the basket and revealed a container of fresh strawberries supplies for a picnic!
she smiled once more. “would you like to explore and find a place for a nice little picnic?” the agel paused. “if you didn’t have any other plans today, that is..” talia was more than aware that she was sharing her idea extremely last minute, though she wanted to surprise raindrops and she hoped that they’d want to join her.
“let’s do it!” raindrops responded. “we can even bring my cake!! ..somehow!” they laughed. [299 words]

Bubs felt strange today. After spotting a shiny looking rock not too far away, and of course after telling Reese he was going to look at said rock, he went off on his own to go and inspect. There was no Reese talking to him and that felt so off putting when it was something that he had grown used to.
Except, he ended up getting separated from his tiny friend by mistake.
Now he was lost and had no idea how to get back to where his friend was. She was probably worried about him so he'd need to find his way back as soon as he could!

when chi planned on heading out earlier that day she imagined wandering the farmers market looking for cool trinkets to take home to her room in the castle. she would have had dinner with her parents and then headed up to read and listen to music. chi did not count on getting stuck out later than expected only to head into a dingy building to seek refuge, only to spend the rest of her night there watching a punk band preform. it was not her style of music at all, yet despite this something about it tugged on her heart. more like someone.

challenge entry;I usually draw, so today I will be writing!
[REDACTED] wandered into town, carrying their satchel close to their body as they did so. They weren't travelling into the gooble festival like one might expect. They weren't a shadowy figure clad in a long black cloak-- they weren't dressed how a criminal on the run was allegedly supposed to be dressed. They wore bright clothes and in doing so fit better with the festive, bubbling crowd. They carried souvenirs, they travelled with friends, they looked for all intents and purposes just like anyone else. But there was something different about [REDACTED], if one looked closely enough. Something choreographed. A little too perfect to be authentic. If one looked close enough, perhaps they could see it. But most would not. Could not, before it was time for [REDACTED] to leave town again.
It was under similar such pretense that [REDACTED] found their way to the gallery of oddities, seeing many goobies scribbling drawings or words on ledgers for their curious host. [REDACTED] too would take a curious seat and a note pad... though they didn't know what to write. They puzzled on it awhile. They usually preferred to draw... that way the bits of authentic self they exposed were harder to decipher, at least, and easier to deny. But in writing? They had no idea how to veil their authentic character from bleeding through...
So they wrote a short story about a wayward traveller, and merely gave him a different name than the one they were wearing that day as their disguise. If they were asked... well, they'd just say they were a fan of similar such media! It was a flimsy excuse, but [REDACTED] was feeling inspired to write... so it was an excuse he would have to prepare for, just in case anyone inquired as to whether or not the piece was autobiographical.
