Polecat Drakes, which are completely unrelated to actual polecats, are a furry species of drake that have characteristics of felines, equines, canines, and drakes. Their general body shape is similar to that of polecats, hence where they got their name. They come in a wide variety of colors and body types, with heights ranging between those of Great Dane dogs (70 cm) to mid-sized ponies (152 cm). They are very social creatures, vocalizing with whinnies, growls, rumbles, and barks. Their social groups typically consist of their immediate family along with a handful of unrelated males and females. Female drakes will typically have 5 pregnancies throughout their lifetime, and can have anywhere from one to two hatchlings per pregnancy.

Chimerism
A chimeric coat is the result of two embryos fusing while in utero and gives a drake two separate base coats. Markings will show over both coats of a chimeric drake, but dilutions will be restricted to the individual coats seen on the drake.
Chimerics can only be seen within breedings or special milestone adopts (50s and 100s), and can be either a full coat type or a brindle-type chimeric. Chimerism happens at random, so if it comes up in a breeding after twins have already been positively rolled for, the user who ordered the breeding doesn't have any say in which type of chimerism the drake will have, that decision is solely up to the artist designing the foal.
Somatic Mutations
A somatic mutation is a bodily mutation that is not heritable from parent to offspring. This mutation turns a portion of the drake's coat "off" and strips a dilution from the area effected. In drakes with a dilution, such as a palomino, the mutation will change the coat to chestnut; a bay will have the coat changed to black. Black or chestnut drakes with a somatic mutation will have the affected area turn white.
In gray drakes, it creates blood marks, more commonly known as bloody shoulders.
Edits
Edits such as added items, small lineart edits (i.e. horns, ear edits, additional eyes, non-functional wings, prosthetics), and different manes and tails are acceptable, but all other major lineart edit types including functional wings, additional sets of legs or additional heads are not permitted. Any edits made are subject to pass in breedings as the requested breeding artist sees fit, they are not guaranteed to pass though. Any larger line edits released will be discussed among the team and done so via an event to ensure an equal opportunity for the community to obtain without charge.
