NQD/Human: Octavius, Bellaw The Jiao
Prompt:
"go for a hike"

It was a bright and peaceful day, soft music playing throughout the mansion as Octavius read a newspaper in the open dining room. His butler, Sederick (what a generic name), had just brought in today's mail, so he folded the newspaper and calmly set it aside, looking through the envelopes.
Bellaw Laid in her bed, that was located by the fireplace, in the mansion's primary living room. The Jiao stirred lightly, her head resting on a goose feather pillow encased in a silk pillowcase. Her large horns resting Gently against the carpet, pressing into another pillow that gave under their weight. A butler, by the name of Butch, approached her, holding a leash and a collar. "Would you care to go for a walk today, Madame?" He watched as the Jiao huffed, slowly rising to her feet from where her pillow nest surrounded her - mildly littered with a few toys, mostly plushies. Stretching out her mighty limbs as she looked up at him, with a face that could only be described as 'another day on another by the river, huh...', she shook out her shiny, soft fur - only the best conditioner for her, swinging her large bull like Head-tusks. Gently bumping her shoulder on his leg, brushing past him as she began to make her way to the mansion's door. "Madame, are you feeling alright?" The butler asked.

-snip-

The shopkeeper laughs at the thought of Octavius's horror when he hears about this event from Butch the next time the butler came into the store. "That's great, I can picture the exact look he must have had too. I'm glad Bellaw had a good time."

"Take the dogs for a run"
Characters:
Ella (new human), NQD Howl (I'm assuming he's for use here)
Writing:

The pretty golden brown haired girl decided she wanted to go in and help the shopkeeper. She knew he had dogs waiting to be adopted. They needed fed, watered, kennels cleaned. That wasn't what she was interested in doing, however. What she wanted to do was take them out for a run. She knew she could only take one at a time, probably only one a day. She didn't mind that so much. She just really wanted to make a dog happy that day, and knew she could. If she took one out for a run, they'd be happy. She headed for the shop, and found the keeper there as usual. She said "I'll help you by taking one of yours dogs for some exercise." He nodded to her, showing her where the kennels were. She looked at all the dogs, seeing seven different ones. Mirage was pretty, Woodchip was handsome, and the rest were also nice to look at. She really liked Arrow, Whistler, and Forester. However, she found she was drawn to the only Andean Wolf.

"That one," she said, the shopkeeper smiling and nodding to her.

He told her "His name is Howl," and she smiled as she nodded back.

The big creature didn't seem mean or scary or anything, and for that she was glad. He was big and fluffy in places, and she smiled at him. She first let him sniff at her hand, then reached out. She paused, gasping when he nosed at her hand. She smiled and put her hands into his neck fur. It was soft and warm, and she smiled as she stayed there a moment. The shades-of-brown or reddish-brown canine then barked at her. She jumped a bit...then shook her head. She smiled as she turned to the shopkeeper.

He gave her a harness since the canine was bigger, as well as a leash. She put the harness on, and Howl wagged his tail. He nosed at her again, then paused and waited for her to put the leash on. She smiled as she did so, then glanced to the shopkeeper again. He nodded silently to her once more. He didn't really need to say anything here. She said she'd take him out into a meadow in a group of trees nearby. It couldn't really be called a forest, though some might call it just so.

She knew it was a big enough area to give Howl some good exercise. She turned and began to take the dog out of the kennel area. She headed out to the road, then headed for the trees. Once there, she headed through the trees. Howl barked then fell silent, looking around. He sniffed the ground a bit, sniffed the air, then turned red eyes to her. He seemed to wait for her command, or her to do something. She hummed a small sound, then smiled and patted him.

She said "Let's go," then began to run.

The dog didn't pull or drag her, so she said "Good boy."

She ran with him across the field, now seeing this was a fine thing to do. She knew he wouldn't hurt her or try to get away. She was glad for this, not wanting to get rope burn. She also didn't want him to get away and get lost... so she was glad he was good. She began to sing softly as they ran. They ran across the meadow to the other end. She then turned and ran back the direction they'd come from. She ran with the dog back to where they'd entered the grouping of trees.

She paused a moment to make sure he was still alright. He was panting just a little, but didn't seem quite tired yet. She smiled and praised him, then walked along the trees. She went around the meadow with him like this then stopped again. She ran with him from the entry spot back to the other side again. She ran back again after that, and stopped him once back. He was now panting more, so she turned the other way. She walked him the other way all around the meadow. The panting calmed once they'd reached their entry point. She smiled and patted him. She headed back out of the trees with him. She headed back up to the road, across it and back to the shop. She found the shopkeeper easy enough, and waved at him. She told him she was pretty sure the canine was now sufficiently exercised. Howl barked and wagged as if to agree. The shopkeeper let her take Howl back to the kennels, then got some water while Ella went home.

(Note to self though Scoin can read this part if you want: coming back to share a story and pest control also

The pretty red haired girl brushed at a piece of curly red hair. It always seemed to get into her face, so she did that now. She then smiled as she headed for the shopkeeper and his area. She knew he'd probably like to know what was going on. He'd let her adopt Rozen, after all. He seemed to care greatly for all the dogs in his care, and found good people to adopt them. She was glad he'd entrusted her with the Jiao. She had even taken some pictures of the canine. The spotted reddish and cream creature was so happy. Except in one, where he was sleeping. He was still happy, one just couldn't tell since he was sleeping. Shaking her head, she giggled then continued towards the area.

She knew it had been some time since she'd adopted the beautiful canine. She wouldn't be telling how he was settling in, then. He was already settled in, had settled in a long time ago. He was now as much a part of the family as the cat. Snowy loved the canine, too, and the canine respected the cat. She'd wondered if he'd go after the cat...but he hadn't. Canines had prey drive, after all. He was a very peaceful and respectful canine, though, so nothing to worry about. She saw the shopkeeper and smiled. She headed over to where he was, the same place he usually was. She smiled as she greeted him, then stood there. She looked around a moment, wondering how many dogs still needed homes.

She then said "Hello there, how are you?"

He told her he was doing fine, and she smiled.

"I'm sorry it's been so long...but I'm here to update you about Rozen," she said.

He smiled and nodded, waiting for her to continue.

Jess hummed a small sound, then said "Rozen is very happy at my place. He's even made friends with my white cat, Snowy. He's peaceful, just as he symbolizes, and he's respectful to Snowy. Snowy really likes him too," she then paused a moment.

She took a breath before continuing "They're the best of friends now. It's so fun to watch the two of them play and run together. They like to go out into the yard and run around together. They also like to curl up together to have a nap."

She had to pause again, and the shopkeeper smiled the whole while.

She said "They play with cat toys together, and dog toys too.

They go after bugs for me, too.

Snowy is harness trained, so I can take them for walks together.

They really like when we walk in the park or at the water."

She paused again to giggle at this fact, as there's a stigma that cats don't like water.

"Snowy actually likes water a lot, and I know some cats do but most don't.

Rozen definitely loves the water," she then said to him.

She said "He likes to watch television and so does Snowy. I think he may have honestly picked that up from Snowy. Snowy has always watched the television, every since he was a kitten. I really believe Rozen picked that up from him," she finished.

She then said "He also likes to sleep in a pile of blankets and towels. I have ones reserved just for him, and Snowy sleeps there too. He'll let Snowy climb into the nest with him. It's really cute when you get to see them together like that."

She then smiled as she said "That's what he's been up to, and I have some pictures."

The shopkeeper nodded, wanting to see the pictures.

She showed him the pictures she'd taken of the canine, as well as ones with the cat. There was Rozen play bowing to Snowy, Rozen napping with Snowy, and Rozen jumping around. There was one with Rozen stretched out on his side. He'd been lying in a patch of sun in that one. There was one of him playing with a ball with Snowy. There was one of him playing with a rope. A friend had been over with their pup. The pup was on the other end, tugging the rope, in that picture.

The shopkeeper smiled as he saw all these pictures. Rozen looked happy in all of them, peaceful in some, and the shopkeeper was pleased. He liked his canines to have good homes. He knew he'd been right to trust the ginger young woman. She smiled as he thanked her. She put away the pictures, and dipped her head to the shopkeeper a moment. She then smiled and hummed as she raised her head after a moment. She told him she would come see him again when she could, then headed off.

The brown brindle and lighter hound moved her tail, as much as she could anyway. She glanced around as she laid on the ground. She was bored, so she looked to her Salawa companion. She shook her head, as the other canine was sleeping. She wanted to make a sound of ridicule or irritation. However, she simply looked to the human and barked at him. He seemed to understand she wanted to go out. He nodded without words, though he could speak. He just didn't need to use words at this moment. He watched as the Axehandle hound raced out the door, once he opened it. She glanced back over her shoulder at him and paused a moment. She barked and he smiled, then she was off running once more.

She reached the domain of the shopkeeper. He'd been so nice to her when she was still waiting to be adopted by someone. She was so glad he'd been so kind and caring. She was so glad now to be in the home she now was a part of. Shaking her head, she slowed down and panted, letting herself catch her breath. She then glanced to the shopkeeper, and woofed. She smiled a canine smile as she looked up at him. She nodded her head to him, as he looked at her.

"I'm here to help you out," she said to him.

He told her a couple things she could do, and she nodded.

"I'll do the pest control one...then," she said.

She didn't really know what to call it, a job she guessed.

He nodded at her, and told her she could either go in the grass outside, the storeroom or the kennels.

She nodded and said "I'll check the storeroom."

He nodded and sent her off.

She smiled as she looked back at him a moment.

She then hurried towards the storeroom, and sniffed a bit as she did so. She could smell some of the items there. Some things had scents while others didn't. She didn't really care about any of that right now anyway, as she was on a mission. She needed to catch some things, and wondered what she'd find. She figured more than likely rodents. She might even find some bugs, but wasn't sure. Shaking her head, she headed into the storeroom, finally coming upon it as she walked.

She sniffed around as she pushed through the door(s). She continued to sniff as she walked in, and looked around for a bit. She walked down the rows of stuff, and sniffed around. She finally caught scent of some mice, and maybe a chipmunk. She'd only really ever seen a chipmunk once. She knew the scent of mice and rats well, and was glad there were no rats. Her human kept rats, and it wouldn't feel right. Mice weren't rats, though, so she had no problems with taking them on. She began to creep along, and soon had come upon one of said mice. She crept closer, then jumped and grabbed it. She dealt with the mouse, taking it back by the doors. She placed it down, and went back down the rows.

She soon found another mouse, and took care of it.

She found a third mouse, taking care of that as well.

She found a fourth mouse, and took that one as well.

She continued through, doing a final sweep and there were no more.

She sighed in relief, going to pick up the mice and heading back to the shopkeeper.

"I caught these and took care of them for you," she said to him.

She placed them before him, and said "There were no others that I found."

He nodded to her, and she headed off to go back home now.

Grateful for the help, the shopkeeper marks Leyka down for 30 store credit. As she goes to leave, a grey dhole comes bounding out of the store and catches up. "Hi! I was really impressed by your work, and I'd like to join you if that's okay?"

Go here to claim the dhole if you'd like!

Rozen also mentioned as well as cat
Writing:

The speckled and patched Andean Wolf had already met two friends. However, he'd been here for a bit, so they weren't considered new friends. Speaking of, he pawed at Rozen a bit. He already thought of the slender male as his mate. Shaking his head, he pawed his muzzle and sneezed. He then looked to the cat, as the cat mewed and trotted by. The cat stopped to stare at them, wanting to come over. However, the cat still wasn't sure of Stormy... though was best friends with Rozen. The wolf snorted as he watched. The cat meowed and trotted off once more. He watched the cat go to the cat tree, and jump up on it. The cat turned around a couple times, then laid down in the patch of sun there.

Stormy shook his head, then glanced to his human as she walked over. Well, the redhead was his and Rozen's human, not just his. He was glad she'd chosen to bring him home one day. She was really sweet, gentle, friendly, and playful. She treated him and Rozen well, and loved them. Plus, he'd never have met his mate if it weren't for her. He barked and wagged his tail as he looked at the young woman. He turned to nose and nudge at Rozen a bit. He then turned his attention back to the redhead. She giggled, laughed, a bit as she watched the two, then stopped laughing. She simply smiled now, walking over to pat them both. She then opened her mouth to speak, he knew that was what she was going to do.

"Hey boy, let's go for a walk; let's meet a new friend," she told him.

He wagged his tail, and definitely understood what she was saying.

He barked as if to agree that was a great idea, and she giggled again.

He stood and shook off, then looked to Rozen.

The redhead said "Stay here and watch the house," to the Jiao.

He barked and stood up, going over by the cat tree.

Jess smiled as she watched Snowy and Rozen a moment. She then shook her head, and turned her attention to Stormy. He was so glad she'd taken him in that he returned the favor in kind. Which was to say he'd walk quite nicely and calm on a leash. He only needed his collar, and no harness. He was such a good boy, and she was glad for this fact. She hummed as she went to get the blue leash that matched the collar. It even had a black stripe down the center. Yellow eyes watched her every movement. She hummed more as she came back with the leash. She clipped the leash to the collar, then smiled at the dog. She got some bags, as well as treats and such, as there would be other dogs where they were going.

"Let's go," she said to the wolf, and headed for the door.

He followed after his lady, and looked around as they stepped out.

They walked down the street, then down another, another, then a fourth. They walked down more streets, and soon came to a park. However, this was no normal park, not for humans anyway. This was a dog park, and the redhead smiled as she told Stormy that. He tilted his head at her words. He then barked and wagged again, heading in with her. They passed through one gate, and she closed it. She then turned to open a second gate, and they headed through. She closed that gate, and now they were in the dog park. She hummed again, as she walked towards some benches and tables. They were picnic tables, Stormy could see. He looked around at all the grass, a man made pond, and trees.

Jess took him over to the water first, to see if he wanted a drink or to go in. He stepped into the water happily. He walked around a bit, as she stayed on the shore. He barked and wagged at her, then walked back out of the water. He shook himself off, causing her to gasp and yelp a bit. She scolded him, and he whined...then he turned back to the water. He did feel a bit thirsty, so he dipped his head. He began to lap at the water, then once he was done he raised his head up.

He turned back to his lady, barking and wagging a third or fourth time that day. She laughed sweetly again, as she reached to him. She patted and pet him a couple times, then pulled away. She hummed again, then stopped and turned away from the pond. She began to walk towards the trees, and he noticed. He noticed there was a path into the trees, through the trees. He got a bit excited, having always liked woods and mountains. He walked with her onto the path, and down it.

They met a golden retriever along the way, a beautiful female. She and Stormy sniffed at each other, then the humans and dog continued on their way. They were heading back out into the park, unlike Jess and Stormy. Jess and Stormy still had to walk the paths, after all.

They did so, going down a couple paths and coming back around. They ended up back at the large area of the park, and came back out into it. The golden retriever was still there, and barked at Stormy. He wasn't interested in her...as anything but a playmate.

She didn't seem to mind that, anyway, just seeming to want to play.

She barked and wagged her tail, jumping at him.

Jess and the other human quickly took off the leashes.

As they watched the canines run and play, the guy turned to her.

He said "My name is Amos, and this is my wife Hettie."

The woman nodded, then smiled and said "Our dog is Annie."

Jess smiled as she said "My name is Jess, and that's Stormy Weather."

She then said "Your dog is quite lovely."

The couple smiled and nodded, then they turned back to the canines.

They watched them play, until the two were tired enough to return to them.

Jess smiled and said bye, leashed Stormy up, and took him back to the gates. She opened the first, stepped through, and shut it. She then opened the second, stepped through, and shut it. She and the Andean wolf headed towards home once more.

They set off away from the park, heading down the street once more. They headed down all the streets, until theirs was in sight. They stepped onto it, then headed to the house, then inside. Jess would contact the shopkeeper later about the socialization.

For now, however, her wolf needed some rest.

She smiled as she watched him walk to Rozen and lie down.

(I'm going to come back and probably do stocking shelves and cleaning kennels, but I'm definitely doing go for a hike. I'll also do a couple more weekly ones, probably exploring the area first (which will be next week then)

NQD: Everest
New Collar: Not so much replace as I would like it to be an extra collar option for him. I want to keep the OG collar to be his main/default one on the ref, and I could switch out collars at will for story purposes and display them in the Outfit Carousel. I'd love a sturdy collar for Everest, one that Jefferson could hold onto instead of using a leash when they walk side by side. A thick but comfortable material which also lessens Everest's ability to get caught on something.

I don't want it to be too wide or thick in range because it could trigger my visual sensory issues and make my mind think that it looks very uncomfortable if it's too tight around the neck or too wide that it covers half the neck? idk my eye are weird.

I can't decide between the 2 hole range vs the 1 hole, because the 1 hole seems too thin and breakable when I'm going for a more unbreakable collar where as the 2 hole has that tight feeling by the visual appearance (even tho my dog had a 2 hole collar and it's perfectly fine (he looks so handsome with it)) so I will leave that up to you

here is some images I found for Style wise; x x x x
I'm going for a more tie around the neck (hole and tooth thing that typical dog collars have) rather than the clip in.
