Yes, it's natural for a pet to gain new value overtime, but when it's falsely pushed in a fast pace, that's when greed comes in and completely crashes the economy.
I've seen lots of new users try and play this game, then turn around and quit not much later. It's heartbreaking. I miss CS. This isn't CS.
I agree with you dude

I honestly loved playing CS a few years ago- and I'm still considered new! Like the past 3 years "values" have skyrocketed more than what I want

I feel that. One pet should never be worth someone’s entire account. I also noticed the high turnover rate of new players. They play for a month or two and then they can’t get any of the valuable pets and leave in frustration. There’s also just a severe lack of stuff to do here.

Tell me why so many people value store pets that came out in 2017 are valued the same as ones that came out in 2012?
Not to say everyone is like that I’ve had tons of very kind grifters and fair people too, but the economy is awful. It’s inevitable for it to go bad on a site like this though.
Hard agree on the store pet problem-in my opinion it is because people want to get "the most value" for their trades, so they're willing to make up completely asinine values and the alleged demand for their pets. Of course I'll never deny that there
is demand for certain pets over others (ex: dragoncat pps versus its fellow littermates -> .75 non vs .5 MA each, TD's, "interesting ID's", etc), but I really feel that some people make up values in their head and expect people to either:
A) Smile and nod their heads without knowing actual value to accept the trade
OR
B) Overpay willingly and knowingly because they know others are unwilling to trade the same pet themselves
In my opinion the falsification of demand makes the environment hostile for newer players to even pick up and join as no one is willing to trade them unless it is for monthly/event swaps, which inevitably shuts them out of many potential trades from older users.
If there was a solution to this problem other than "just trade fair ecks dee" I'd propose it, but I genuinely can't think of anything that'd solve it, which is unfortunate.

*Rainbow* wrote:-snip- People put pets in trade groups & then reject trades (of their WL) because they like their pets better... Gave up after that one.
Yes, I've seen this too many times when trading.
I understand preference comes into trading pets/items away but it makes it harder for players who are following the users rules (such as WL for WL or don't trade x species) and instantly get declined bc they like their pets better.
(I also understand that some people have pets and such on their wishlist because of the pound but I'm talking about the ones who don't)

I have a WL full of uncommons and under.
I didn't think it would be so hard to fulfill this wishlist. But even if I over trade it gets declined because 'their pets look better.' Even if they have multiple of the pet. It's really frustrating and disheartening and most of the reason I gave up and just stick to the other fun things this website provides.
It's sad though.
Edit Hi so apparently some amazingly sweet members saw this and decided to gift me. You all knocked out 2 pages of WL pets. This is more than I've gotten in the past year. I got a beautiful malk wolf (my first,) a beautiful bull I've had my eyes on for months and an absolutely glorious parrot. I just wanted to say thank you for the gifts but I wasn't expecting to receive any <3 I love you all

i left cs a couple years ago, and gifted away nearly my entire collection of old rares, store pets, and event pets that i had collected over the years. i've recently returned and have been trying to regain some of what i gave away, but it is so hard! i definitely know what you all are talking about. i am determined though, and happy to be around to participate in the easter event.
forever missing my warriors collection haha

Freckle wrote:I think what have stunned me the most, is that rats, horses and ponies, even the rare 2009 ones are almost worthless. I have a hard time trading them for even recent hoardpets, or recent rares
Unfortunately it’s always been that way. Those animals/lines aren’t liked as much so there aren’t many people actively looking for them even though they’re rare. It sucks but it does make getting rats on my wl a lot easier.

I usually just swap monthlys. I have Math anxiety and rarity math makes my head hurt. I never know what to offer! I actually prefer buying with C$ for older things I need, but don't get me started on C$ stores that have no prices! Plus sometimes I have no idea what to price mine at!
It took me Forever to get the last teacup store bunny I needed!
I did a bunch of trades for FR gems for older rares, so that was cool.

I prefer trading with currency too. I do C$ trades and Gems because it’s much much easier to figure out. Plus Gems are basically free, so I can add up enough to get a valuable pet in a week or so without dealing with tons of cancelled trades or grumpy people that dislike my offers.
Looking for Eat Me or Drink Me
Have 19 C$ for trade
Have 300 FR Gems for trade
