Just as The Founder explored the wilderness and nests of the clans (lore can be found on Main), people are encouraged to Explore and try and gain Khoa of their own. These creatures can be tricky, impatient and dangerous at times so caution is advised.

At each opening, an explore prompt will be given. These may ask for multiple actions or be simple multiple choice. To enter, fill out the form given and respond! Results will typically be rolled between 00:00-10:00 EST every day, and run daily for several days. You may enter once per day but once you've successfully gotten a Khoa, you cannot enter again until explore reopens with the next explore prompt or if specified you may try again.

The prompt for this opening is as follows:
Upon this exploration, you find yourself wandering into a nest far below the surface, dimly lit by glowing flora plastered along the sides and the ceiling. At the cavern's lowest point, in the largest dug-out room with stolen straw and dry ferns keeping the floor soft, you find many Khoa bundled together with their young- some older cubs wrestling with the reckless abandon of the children that they were, others sticking close to their parents. Of the ones that rested the Greater Khoa cubs were safely protected in the center, while most of the Lesser Khoa lay on the other side of the resting adults for warmth. Scattered about were also a handful of small cubs laying in the hay alone or in pairs, likely the runts of their litter that now were paid little attention.

Prompt Response: Approaching with as much caution as there was a fearful respect for them, I approach with an offering of several gifts - A nautilus shell with whorls and swirls coloring it in brown and tan hues layered over creamy ivory, an iridescent sheen covering the outside, the inside containing a variation of pearls ranging in color and size.

One of the Khoa inspects the jewelry as they sit back on their hind legs to take a look at its faint glow, before looking back to you as their nostrils flared a little. It surely was a valuable gift from such a small creature, in their point of view. So lifting the scruff of one of the young curled up by their side on the outside of the circle, they promptly set the little one down in your arms and returned to tending to the others, while hiding the jewelry amongst her fur for later.

Your approach immediately raised some snarls and questioning gutteral sounds among the Khoa, one- tired of their older cubs springboarding off their back to wrestle eachother- getting up to try and chase you off. Noticing the gifts in your hands though they appeared to change their mind and circled to lay back down, disinterested but tolerant. Of the others that you had caught attention, the largest of the nest, stood and stretched, her small wings flaring and then folding more peacefully. She examined the intricate offering and snapped away another curious Khoa, thinking for a long moment before gesturing for you to set down their prize and reaching into the circle to take a large greater khoa cub- most likely one of her own- and bring it to you, with a soft huff through her nose, as if demanding you to understand the pact of care for such a prized youth.

The nest you enter is rowdier than many of the others you had passed, the rocky walls well-lit to show the Khoa and their children rolling around, sparring, some cubs trying to knock their siblings off of their paws one by one before running into a pillar and staggering off with a quick recovery. As they notice you there's immediately an approach of two or three, fur raised threateningly, and so you reach for the closest bundle of fur in the hay and without even looking at it you flee before they can feel enticed to chase you. As soon as you were a safe enough distance you went to wrap the little one in the blanket in your bag, only to be baffled to find two small khoa cubs in your arms- they were so tightly bundled together for warmth you hadn't even noticed!

Prompt Response: I dip my head politely in gratitude towards the older Khoa, laying the offering of sea riches gently onto the ground and glancing up for permission before gently taking the cub into my own arms, cradled safely against my chest as I make a sound similar to a friendly chuff, restricted by human vocal cords - it was an attempt, at least, to quell their nerves and a gesture of my attempt to promise the safety of the cub. Slightly embarrassed at my poor mimicry of the sound, I instead offer a final piece as a token of gratitude - a shiny, polished pocket watch with intricate grooves in the gold-bronze metal it was made of, a soft ticking coming from it.

Perhaps it had no use to them, but it certainly held sentimental value.
