adopting less than the maximum amount

hello!

i've been on this site for almost ten years now and i'm still not sure about this.. when you go to adopt pets there's the option to select how many you want to adopt. is there any reason to adopt less than the maximum amount?

i guess some people might want to adopt a few pets, but save some adopts for a certain date? i dont think its ever worth not adopting as many as you can... but i guess it was easy to impliment, so it just kinda exists!?!
