You know those dreams where you know you’re in a dream?

Postby Skipena » Thu Feb 23, 2023 6:01 pm

Ok ok ok… SO. You know you’re in a dream. And you walk up to someone and say something like “this is a dream.” And what happens?

I want to know your answers.

Because some people have really creepy scary things happen, and some have a fine experience.

I tried once but I told my husband in my dream that it was a dream and he was like “oh cool! We could do whatever we want then!” And it was all fine and dandy! But I wonder if it’s because in my mind I could never imagine my husband doing anything horrible. So it wasn’t a possibility.

However, someone I know tried this but they told their aunt they were dreaming, and they said something along the lines of “you aren’t supposed to know that.” And her whole dream started glitching and their eyes turning red and she couldn’t get herself to wake up for a minute!

So… anyone have some fun experiences to share?

That second story is odd... I've been studying dreams and lucid dreams for a while now and might have some answers. (Anyone feel free to correct me!) When you finally realise you are dreaming, you might go lucid, and whatever you think of will most likely appear or happen. So if you're thinking of something scary or start to get scared, you'll turn it into a lucid nightmare, and things like that you mentioned in the second story might happen. When you realise you're dreaming, you're supposed to keep your thoughts positive and focused if you want to stay in the dream and do whatever you want.

Oh interesting! That could be what happened then.. because I was just happy knowing nothing bad could happen with my husband there lol.

Whereas I told the other person how some people have really scary experiences and so of course what thought pops in their head when they have the dream? What I was talking about before….. whoops lol.

sounds about right! i lucid dream occasionally. i remember i recently dreamed i was swimming and thought "it would be crazy if a tidal wave came and wiped everyone out haha" and then lo and behold...
luckily, when i know i'm dreaming i can wake myself up, so i've never had an extended lucid nightmare.

i don't necessarily enjoy positive lucid dreams either simply because i find it boring when i know what happens next. i like the surprise of unconscious dreaming lol
i like chickensmoothie :^)
