It’s been ages since I’ve logged on and looked at this thread 😭
I’ve got a little sport prospect now, this is Quill ! Moose is not thrilled about having a little brother but he’s warming up.

Quill is adorable! I hope you know you’re in for a lot of fun. I wish mine was still that tiny.

(on a side note everyones dogs are so cute ^^)

Has anyone noticed how like toxic the dog community is online? Idk if anyone else has been stuck on the side of dog community tiktok where everyone is just fighting all the time but I've been stuck there for well over 2 years now and it's just been getting worse💀😭. It's so frustrating, like a lot of the things being argued about (ethical breeding, training, diet, ect) are important and deserve to have conversations around them HOWEVER instead it seems the community would just rather call each other bad owners and abusive rather than actually listen and work on the problems that the other side is bringing up. At this point after seeing like 10+ videos everyday with all this fighting and accusing I've lost a lot of interest in the dog community, like I was planning to get my next dog from a breeder rather than a rescue this time and more actively participate in sports with my future dog but after seeing how the community interacts has made me really lose that passion at the thought of having to interact with ppl like that irl (ofc I know theres many great ppl part of the community, the vast majority, but a couple bad apples is enough to ruin something for me personally). Also the way they treat vets, like I swear there's some pipeline on tiktok the starts with pet food conspiracy's that leads to thinking vets actively seek to harm ur dog at every given opportunity 😭

Is it as bad IRL ? My dog is pretty old so I havent been to any dog events in a long time so I don't really have much knowledge on what its like in the IRL communities (plus when I did do agility and such with my dog my experience wasn't great with the trainer helping me teach my dog which actually ended up in my quitting, so to be honest I never really got to experience much of IRL events sadly). I'm very curious if this just a problem online, or do you see it irl too?

Sorry for all the rambling, I think seeing all those tiktoks everyday has scrambled my brain lol

spend less time on social media, honestly. take your dog to the dog park and talk to real people. people online, especially on social media are very naive and susceptible to misinformation. it's a lot easier to misunderstand things over the internet and disagreements are easily had. i wont say much more on the subject other than i find it really bothersome as well so i try to limit my screen time, just a suggestion.

They’re stunning ! 💛

He’s been both fun and a bit of a learning curve tbh!! He’s my first ‘puppy’ and Im just desperate to do right by him. He is incredibly handler focused and food motivated which has made training a breeze. He’s 12 weeks this week already 😭

I keep a distance from the dog community on social media. For me personally, I also only keep my TikTok to non-dog videos. IRL there are some bad apples here and there, but it isn't very common for them to be nearly as bold as people are on social media. It's the typical pattern of how people are IRL vs social media with pretty much everything. IMO, it is pretty easy to keep yourself out of the drama. I just found some good apples and stick to them, I do not chime in on any drama online, and it has worked out for me. Social media is a good way to gauge how involved a person is in drama, and I do not get close to the ones who often involve themselves in it. I will be cordial if I see them in person, of course, but that's it. All of the breeders I am considering for my future dogs are also very unproblematic/dramatic on social media and IRL.

Don't let it scare you away from enjoying sports or getting a dog from a breeder. :)

haha, yeah, She's very food motivated and attentive to me mostly too. She's 19 weeks as of Monday. So they aren't too far in age either. I love how prominent his phantom markings are. I'm sure you're doing fabulous with him even with that learning curve, I know the grooming is just as much a learning thing for me since I plan to show.

I am a sucker for multi-colored poodles but phantoms are my preference if i'm being honest.
