Leo | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Silvia | Location: Camp
Leo turned at the sound of a familiar voice. Silvia, one of the Hunters and certainly a dear friend. She was…anxious, maybe? He couldn’t quite read what she was thinking, but her tone hinted at it. He knew that feeling. Being out on one's own was a terrifying experience, for any amount of time. So he dipped his head. "Yeah, of course I will. I won’t let anything happen to you. You just tell me where you want to go, and when, and I’m here."
Karter | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Hunting Party | Location: Camp
Amusement flickered through Karter. Personally he could never even imagine simply being over his own routine. He was built like a Hunter should be, small and lithe, but he loved the work he’d done, had hardened his mind and body alike for it. "What’s it like for Hunters when you guys ain’t on a huntin' party, by the way? I never did ask. I know you have down time, same as us, but a big hunting party rarely goes out and small hunts can be called and over with whenever you feel like it." Karter tilted his head to the side, considering that. She had a point. It meant he had a constant eye out.
Karter perked right up. He was known to be a grump most of the time, but this…this was such good news! He only hoped and prayed that it was true. "A deer? You think we got a loner deer or a stray, got separated in migration?" He bounced on his paws excitedly, eyes brightening. A deer could be a game changer. "That’s amazing news! I’ll do my best, keep you guys safe, from other forest predators, from Fire wolves, anything at all, you guys just focus your best on bringin' home the kill. Minttu's pups are due soon, I’m sure she'd be glad for the extra food, and everyone could use a pick-me-up right 'bout now."
Arian | Lead Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Rion, Blaze | Location: Camp
Arian glanced towards Blaze. "There is much on my mind," she admitted. First thing in the morning and she hadn’t even gone out yet and already felt worn and beaten down. This day was already chaotic. "Perhaps once I’ve sorted my thoughts a little more and had the chance-" she cut herself off at the sound of Rion speaking up. So. He was going to address the issue at hand right away? She had to commend him in that such was bold when the issue was still fresh, but she would not give him bonus points now for bringing up his own faults. Far from it, as a matter of fact. "Excuse me a moment." The mottled she-wolf, although much smaller than most of her grown Packmates, was still not one to let herself get walked on, and as Lead, she could not allow the rules of the Pack, their code of honour, get walked on either. For any reason. Even if there were times when she understood and she herself sympathized with the unfortunate Omega in question.
"Rion." She lifted her head to look her fellow Warrior in the eye. "I understand your concern, but do you not understand the way the hierarchy works? Goodness me, you’re my senior, and to my knowledge, lived here your whole life. I thought you would know the laws of the Pack better than myself." Her eyes narrowed and tone sharpened ever so slightly. "And as virtuous as empathy and kindness is, it is no excuse when you break Pack law. It is becoming clear to me that you do not understand. Mouse is an Omega because she can lend us nothing, but the Alpha was too kind to cast her out or kill her. The wolves who can lend to our skills eat first, it’s as simple as that, and if you cannot understand and respect that— do you know the meaning of that word, when it comes to ancient law?— then perhaps you might spend a day in her place to gain a better understanding sometime."
Jasmin | Healer | F-Pack | Tagging: Leonidas, Cheshire | Location: Camp
"He’s not well. It has nothing to do with Alpha's announcement." Jasmin knew the youngster was simply kidding around, and maybe on some level just trying to make light of a tense situation— it was never easy to see your friends or Packmates in their worst times, she knew that all too well— but now really was not the time for that. "I’m sorry, I know you must worry for your friend, and I can call you when he’s in a better space, but for now I need him to eat the herbs and get some rest, he needs the space and time to make a proper recovery," she added.
Luciano | Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Destiny | Location: Camp
Luciano couldn’t honestly claim he understood what Destiny was talking about. His down time consisted on taking a nap or a walk out in the forest on occasion, usually by the river. Other than that, he had never needed anything or anyone else. He didn’t go out of his way to make friends, he didn’t dream of having a busy life as an Alpha, or of occupying all his time with pups somewhere down the line. He just wanted to do his job, make his Pack proud, and do good for them. It was as simple as that. Bonus points for the chance to exterminate the enemy when it arose. "I suppose you could look at it that way," he finally agreed. "I’ve never been one to simply take a break, but I suppose everyone is different."
Fish | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: River | Location: Camp
Fish dipped her head in acknowledgement to the words, but clearly the idea had spooked her friend, and while many wolves may look at her and consider Fish to be stupid and empty-headed— she didn’t mind, really!— and while she may largely lack general intelligence, she still had emotional intelligence. Enough to understand the situation at hand, anyway, and the last thing she wanted was to frighten or put any kind of pressure on her own friend. "Yeah, sure, sounds like a good idea to me! Maybe we can head by the west border, then?" She suggested.
Shadow | Alpha | L-Pack | Tagging: Apocalypse, Terra | Location: Camp
Oh Shadow knew that. She knew all of it, and she had expected to hear as much. She’d planned to listen with an unbiased mind, but such was harder than it sounded. "His empathy is what I feel will make him a good leader when I’m gone in a few years. I want to make sure whoever I choose is worthy of upholding the honour of the Pack, and the values we stand for." She fixed blue eyes on the Elder in front of her. "Who would you have chosen, if it was up to you?" Her gaze shifted to Terra. "I’ll speak with you as soon as I’ve finished here," she promised quickly.
Smoke | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Nyx | Location: Camp
"Well…if we want to go that far, we probably should grab someone else," Smoke said. A normal patrol or brief hunt was one thing, yes, but going so far beyond their camp's walls meant they were at higher risk, and further away if something happened. They couldn’t afford to take any risks. Even Smoke, chaotic as she might be, was fully aware of that. Aware and willing to listen to common sense for once, she’d seen winter once before, born right in the very beginning of spring, and it had been a cold and harsh time. No needless risks.
Kaden | Pup | L-Pack | Tagging: Sorin | Location: Camp
Kade was still and silent for what felt like altogether too long. He turned his gaze away from his friend. Did the younger pup take what he had for granted so easily? "Sorin, what’s it like?" He asked softly. "Having always had someone there to take care of you, that you could turn to or cuddle with or cry to when things go wrong? What’s it like to have a parent who's always just right there?" He'd never had that, not that he could remember, anyway, and sometimes, in all honesty, he was jealous of his friend. He’d spent a good portion of time hoping someone would want him, would pick him up off the ground and care for him in the same way, but the situation simply had never come to that.
Blizzard | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Chronos, Lucas, (mentions Nyx, Smoke) | Location: Camp
"Alright then. You see if you can find anyone else, in the meantime, I’ll go and see if I can find Lucas and Leo, and we'll see what we come up with," Blizzard suggested. With that, the white furred Warrior lifted himself to his feet and scanned the camp until he caught sight of the ball of fur that was Lucas, hanging out not far from Nyx and Smoke. He shrugged and walked over. "Lucas, we need you for a patrol, if you’re not busy. Smoke, you come too, unless you’re…otherwise occupied. With work, not a casual conversation. We’ve no time to stand around."
Max | Alpha | F-Pack | Tagging: Octavia, mentions Enui | Location: Camp
Max watched as Enui went. He understood. She worried for her father, who didn’t worry for their family? He knew Catania would’ve worried about him, and he remembered worrying about his own ailing father. I pray that things will be okay. He turned at the sound of a voice next to him. Octavia. Admittedly, he was a little surprised simply to be addressed as Max rather than with the respectful terminology used by…virtually everyone else towards their Alpha. Most wolves, he would not tolerate it from, but Octavia had always been a dear friend. "Every summer, the herds come back, and they’ll come back again, as they always do, but it is a matter of lasting that long. I want to ask you then. What’s your setup? What’s the idea? The less Hunters we have here, the less we bring in. Ultimately the gamble is only worth it if you succeed. If the gamble fails, the entire Pack will struggle much more than we have been already. So what do you propose?"
Kassandra | Hunter | F-Pack | Tagging: Serafina, Quin | Location: Camp
"If you already know that, then darling, you don’t have what it takes!" Kass shot Quin a sympathetic smile. She was aware of how that might sound, but she was simply stating a fact. "Half of standing in a position to be chosen for leadership is self belief. If you tell yourself you can’t, it’s quite simple; You won’t." Kass swished her tail across long grass. "Yes, I would be up for a hunt if I’d have the company of you two lovelies."
Kazill | Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Solomon | Location: Camp
"Oh kind isn’t the word I’d pick first to describe me. Save that for those soft-hearted Lightning wimps. They put everyone else first and as a result, they suffer for it and I’m not even sure how they ever get anything done. Maybe they don’t." He shrugged. Kaz stood and shook his head. "Nope, I’ve got nothing yet. What, the Lead hasn’t come to pick you up for a patrol or something?" He cast a quick glance around. A small group of Hunters nearby. "Maybe they’re headed out and need a guard. We could offer. Or take your idea to the Alpha when you’re ready."
Móraín | Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Tesla | Location: Camp
"Well my my, aren’t you eager? I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Trainee quite so excited for a session." Móraín giggled to herself, and pushed herself to her paws again, stretching. She wasn’t surprised by the choices, either of them, really, sure, Octavia wouldn’t manage Lead Hunter long term, she was aging quickly, but she had much experience and wisdom to share while she was still in service. "Let’s head out, follow me. We'll be working on a variety of things today, so be ready to test your skill and knowledge." With that, she turned and headed out of camp.
