Arian | Lead Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Canary, Archer, Kazimir, Mouse, Rion, Blaze | Location: Camp
"I never offer flatteries, only the truth," Arian insisted. She tilted her head to the side. "I think with Blaze or Acero, it should be enough." Speak of the devil, one of the wolves in question had appeared, and she dipped her head in turn to him. "Good morning, Blaze. You’re just in time. I was actually about to send for you, to see if you weren’t too busy for a patrol?" Although phrased like a question, her tone held a certain air about it that was more giving an order. She never meant to come off as bossy, but she was sure the others would understand. It was her job to command.
Arian paused as Canary spoke. "Before the others have eaten? An Omega has to eat too, but the hierarchy says she eats last. I doubt if everyone else's been fed yet." Arian's feelings towards the Omega were quite mixed. On one hand, she understood the dark place it must put the she-wolf in. She maybe even sympathized a little, but was certainly glad it wasn’t her. Alone, she might’ve opted for kindness too. On the other hand, she was the example, she had to set the example, and there was no room for wolves who could not lend to the Pack. She honestly didn’t know why they weren’t simply cast out.
"Oh dear. Things have to be sorted out, all in accordance with the hierarchy, I suppose. Though dealing with the rules and protocols that bind an Omega is never a pleasant task. I'll speak with Rion later, we have patrols to attend to. Even so, though..." She glanced towards Rion and Mouse though, wary. The role of Omega truly is pointless mechanically, but it’s all part of the hierarchy… She marched forward, to Mouse and Rion, narrowing her eyes. "Hey. Omega. You made sure everyone else has had the chance to eat before you take your share?" She challenged.
Cody | Hunter | L-Pack | Tagging: Phoenix | Location: Camp
Cody nodded. It certainly seemed that way. Toby was a social wolf, but the way his gaze kept travelling over the group that was scattered throughout the clearing, it certainly seemed he was searching for someone or something. "It appears that way to me. Go on, let him know, and if you’ve nothing else to do, maybe the two of us can be of some use to that hunting party, or else take out one of our own," she suggested.
Shadow | Alpha | L-Pack | Tagging: Open | Location: Camp
"For some time now, we've lacked a Beta or Leads. It comes to my mind more and more frequently these days, and I always put it off for fear I’ll do as my father did and make the wrong choice. One wrong choice can change history," Shadow admitted. It was just a worry she’d carried a long time. "But I’m debating my options. You’ve been in this Pack before I was born, and you’ve undoubtedly had more experience with them all socially, given how busy I can get as an Alpha. Might I run some names by you? I’d like a second opinion, I worry I may be too much in my own head," she added.
Toby | Hunter | L-Pack | Tagging: Storm, Roque | Location: Camp
"Huh? Good morning," he greeted Roque, a flicker of warmth tinting his voice. "Actually, as a matter of fact, Storm and I were discussing getting a group together. Nothing like lived experience to learn by, huh?" Toby knew the Trainee was still quite young, but he didn’t mind giving it a shot. She was smart and strong and fast. "Have you seen Linkk or Comet? We were hoping to bring them along too. More bodies means chance at bigger game or more area covered."
Smoke | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Nyx, Lucas | Location: Camp
Choosing to ignore the sarcasm, Smoke shrugged. "Well I’m glad someone sees it that way." Her wink following suggested a teasing that her tone only held the slightest note of. She could play it off, at the very least, she wouldn’t allow herself to be pushed off to the side or spoken down to. That was for other wolves who didn’t know how to either stand up for themselves or let things roll off their backs in the same way she’d learned to. "I guess just go with the flow unless I’m appointed to something in particular. Really I’m eager to get moving again."
Fish | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: River | Location: Camp
Fish offered a sheepish grin in response to her friend's attempt to held with the damp, unruly fur. She didn’t have a whole social circle the way most wolves did, and the wolves she did feel close to, she kept close. As close as possible. Physically and emotionally. River was certainly one of those wolves, so her touch was more than welcome. "Yeah, I would be up for that. I don’t think I saw the Alpha, so no patrols have been formally organized yet?" It came out more of a question than she had intended. "What’s the matter?" She followed her friend's gaze towards Toby. Then she snapped out of it. "It was good! Cold, but that’s normal now. It’s good exercise, keeps the muscles and core strong. I should teach you sometime, in the shallows, where it’s not a really strong current!"
Blizzard | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Chronos | Location: Camp
"Yeah, I've been blessed with a thick pelt, but it’s still not enough to keep me happy, per se. I’d rather be up and moving, get the blood flowing a little, y'know?" Blizzard nodded, scanning the camp. Who was actually around? "Yeah, maybe we could grab…Denzell? I could swear that I had seen him a little earlier, up with the sun, practically."
Night | Warrior | L-Pack | Tagging: Risen | Location: Camp
Really, she wasn’t sure what to make of the nearly-silent Hunter, but she’d known wolves of all kinds before, and sometimes it just took a while for them to become comfortable, and Night understood. She was quite a presence, demanding and high energy and stubborn to boot. "Sure, why not. At this point in the season, any prey is good," she agreed when Risen indicated the rabbit. Food was food. They needed to keep their energy up if they wanted to succeed, protecting their Pack well and securing their lands, continue bringing in prey, in the case of the Hunters.
Uciel | Healer Trainee | L-Pack | Tagging: Terra, Willows | Location: Camp
"Hah…okay, I guess that’s true." Uciel certainly wasn’t like Smoke, who ran around making a lot of noise simply for the sake of it. He set down his herbs. "Maybe help me sort these out? I collected whatever I could and didn’t really think about transporting them separately. I didn’t want to take too many trips when we're already starting to run low on energy and the food that gives us the energy we need," he explained.
Max | Alpha | F-Pack | Tagging: Enui | Location: Camp
That was a good question. Not one that Max really put a lot of thought into. After all this time, a little more than three and a half years as Alpha, it was just…normal for him. "Oh it affects me, I simply don’t allow it to cloud my judgement. I have to remember to not think about myself anymore, but about the Pack. What’s best for the Pack, rather than any one individual. It’s why I let Moon leave us when sickness hit the camp last year, and why we ended our war before one Pack could be eliminated entirely. Back then, we were not strong enough. Which leads into your second question. We are in a truce. We have been at truce for seven months. We didn’t have the strength or numbers, but these Packs have been feuding for years. I know all the stories my father used to tell me," he remembered. "As our Pack grows and strengthens, one day, I plan to be rid of these fools who call themselves Warriors and Alphas and Hunters, who do half their job and leave so much room for mistakes. They’re a shame to the wolves who put in the real work, and after so many wrongs done to us, I want to play our cards right, and take them out in one fell swoop when the time comes."
Kazill | Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Solomon | Location: Camp
"You still have to take care of yourself. The Pack needs all its wolves strong. I get it. You want the rest of the Pack to be well-off, you give up your share for them, but what good is it if you end up getting sick and weak from malnutrition and end up stuck in the Healer's den for sky-dogs only know how long?" Kaz pointed out. He nodded. Unclaimed lands. No-man's land, land where the two Packs could have their meetings, to discuss whatever they needed, to share important news. Whatever it may be. "If you want, we can speak to him about it today, we’d also have to go through Arian though, as Lead Warrior, if we plan to search while out on patrols or whatever," he pointed out.
Móraín | Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Tesla | Location: Camp
"Good. I’ve had something already today, don’t worry about me." She couldn’t help but think it was kind of touching that her Trainee worried about her too though. Móraín stood and stretched out her spine. "Patrols are already going to be leaving soon, so we should get going when we can." She tilted her head to the side with vague concern. "Weird dreams? Are they bothering you? If sleeping is troublesome, I’m sure Jasmin has something to help."
Luciano | Warrior | F-Pack | Tagging: Destiny | Location: Camp
Luciano nodded slowly. His thoughts had been something along the same lines, admittedly. He shifted his weight back. "Yes, I was actually thinking in a very similar manner myself, as a matter of fact. It doesn’t appear to me anyone has been searching for us. Arian collected a small group over there. I suppose we could check out if more numbers are needed," he suggested. It would certainly beat standing around and doing nothing.
Kassandra | Hunter | F-Pack | Tagging: Quin, Serafina | Location: Camp
Kass turned as Serafina approached them, and she nodded for the she-wolf to come join them. Serafina was a good wolf. A wolf she liked, quite a bit, in fact. "Oh nothing at all, dear! Not interrupting a thing, nor being a bother. We were just making chitchat," she told her. "I fear we might bore you, speaking of the weather and our hopes for good prey, despite all our recent days of luck, but if you wish our company regardless, then you’re more than welcome to join the party, I’m sure."
