SILVERKIT
kit / she-cat / tags: nursery
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Silverkit was pacing anxiously in the nursery behind the medicine cat den before even the faintest flickers of dawn light touched the horizon, though she only treads small circles. She can't help it, her nerves are driving her nuts. Even when her mother tries to get her to settle down, the last few days she's been unable to resist the urge to move. The bramble and fern den gets smaller and smaller with six almost fully-grown kittens and their mother, and it's begun to get claustrophobic.
Silverkit has noticed when she's like this, there tends to be a gap between her and others. Like the nervous, irritable energy radiates off of her. Something about the excitement drives her into a hyper focus, she gets snippy and is often scolded by her mother when she snaps at others. Right now, she really wants to get out into camp.
Definitely not the first to wake, but one of, Silverkit's stomach is growling and her paws itch to run. Tomorrow. The reaches of her mind whisper, just one more night! Their apprentice ceremony looms, Silverkit lifts and shakes a cramped paw. Her mother would tell her she's not allowed to leave the den until the morning patrol returns, so diligently she continues to pace, stand, and pace in front of the entry from the nursery to the medicine den.
MOONKIT

Moonkit slept shallowly, in the night her ears and limbs twitched and her tail lashed. Silverkit's pacing startled her awake with a jolt, her eyes sweep the den quickly, but she breathes a sigh of relief to find everything as it was when she fell asleep. Aside from the silver pelted she-cat who can't sit still, for a moment Moonkit regards her with irritation. "Will you sit. Down." The dark gray swirled molly scoffs.
It's no good, she knows her sister, and she knows that this has been going on for almost a whole moon. Their apprenticeship ceremony is just tomorrow, even she is vibrating with excitement. Moonkit wonders who her mentor will be, dazed for a moment in her daydream.
MISTYLEAF
warrior / she-cat / tags: camp
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Mistyleaf yawns, her paw pads ache from treading on the dry, hard earth of early Greenleaf. She wasn't called by Hawkeclaw for morning patrol today, instead taking it upon herself to check on the condition of Dappledleaf's herb spots. Already she can tell the Abyss is producing a disproportionate amount of herbs in the sediment at the top of the falls this Greenleaf compared to the previous warm season. Mistyleaf dares not to get too close, remembering her own experience with the Abyss as a young apprentice.
You'd think the she-cat would have been scared out of even dreaming to visit the Abyss again. Things weren't meant to work out like Mistyleaf had hoped and despite the true meaning of her warrior name, she's a better warrior than she would have made a medicine cat. Still, as Mistyleaf sets the adder she caught near the falls on the freshkill pile and settles in to groom her silvery pelt shimmering with morning dew, she can't help but feel a longing ache for a different time and a life she could have had. It's always easier when there's someone around to talk to, to distract from her own feelings of failure.
Mistyleaf looks around the camp clearing trying not to look too pointedly while she casually licks flat the fur on the back of her shoulders, hoping for someone to find company with.
