As much as I want a pps of this stage, I think it might end up as one of the ribbon eel's two adult forms, with yesterday's growth being the other. (All ribbon eels are born male, then eventually develop into females, with their coloring shifting from blue to yellow during the process.)

I love the contrasts on tonight's rat, the brighter yellow and darker brown bands really make it pop! It almost radiates warmth. The older one looks kind of flat in comparison (it's still cute tho). I hope we get one with a dark brown base!

I'm loving the rats this month! They kind of remind me of those fancy eggs people paint I can't wait to see the rest of them. I might be biased though cause I love orange/yellow/brown

I'm so excited to see a New Year's cat! It's a bit sad that it had to change because now all the year pets won't exactly match since they have different lineart, I know a lot of people group by species & the year dogs are a fun marker. A very pleasant new year's suprise. I'm really glad it's a cat out of all the options! I love the color pallette & the 2023 text reminds me of a sparkler twirled through the night sky; very beautiful. I do wish there was some sort of highlight or contrast around the mouth; the face seems very dark compared to the rest of the body so I can't see the expression very well. I love the purple on the nose!
