How to: Find your irl cat!
The following posts have sorted cats by both markings, coat color, eye color, and various mutations or injuries. I have tried to the best of my ability to sort these cats using realistic genetic color and pattern charts via Sarah Hartwell on Messybeast.com. They have created an amazing resource that's been really fun for me to puzzle out and apply on our favorite pixel based pets :3
Each post depicts a different pattern or pattern type. For some breeds I've created both a cream-red post and a seperate gray-brown/black post. This has a genetic basis as cats can genetically have either black pigment or red pigment within their coats!
Once I get around to it I will define each of the pattern types here, so you can know which post to look for your cat on.
Next you need to identify the color of your irl cat. You might say your cat is "gray", but technically there is no official "grey" cat coloring. Gray kitties are instead sorted into categories like blue or lilac. Please see the chart below by Sarah Hartwell on Messybeast.com to figure it out! Clicking will take you to their website. I will say that I believe at this time I won't be seprating cats into each double dilute/caramel category as we don't have enough cats that color to do so, so you can find them all under the header "double dilutes". Also keep in mind that "white" will only be used in reference to solid white pixel cats and is not on the chart. If a cat is white and another color please check out the bicolor post!

Next posts will be sorted by cat eye color (if one is present; some pps cats have their eyes closed!), so you can find the pixel cat that best represents your irl pet. If you can't find a matching eye you can pick a pixel pet with closed/unknown eyes or the closest match. I again used a resource by Sarah Hartwell on Messybeast.com to sort the pixel cats to the closest irl cat eye color. You can look at that chart below! Click to be taken to their website.

Fun fact: Did you know true dark brown eyes don't exist in cats? The scale stops at a dark orange color called copper!
You should now have the closest pixel pet to your irl pet UNLESS your cat is of a specific genetic mutation or has a visible disability, injury, or scarring. These pets can be found at the end of the guide after the patterns. I've sorted the posts by what feature on the cat is mutated (hair/coat, size, ear type, tail type, etc). Cats from earlier sections will be repeated here when applicable. I'm also hopefully creating one big post at the end with all the longhair cats.
Once you have your cat, click on it to see the month and year it was released and/or add it to your wishlist. Maybe you can horde the pixel cat closest to your irl cat or overpay for them and dress them up in silly outfits. The world is your oyster :3.
PM me if you have any issues! I may create a graphic flowchart to show you how to use this guide.
