@Queen of flames: Hi there! I’ll be playing your character Fallenheart’s apprentice, Kestrelpaw. I read through his profile, and I’m interested to see how he would feel about an apprentice who was given the chance to be a warrior but chose the medicine cat path (a direct opposite to him I believe)! I was wondering if you’d be alright with one of Fallenheart’s NPC littermates being Kestrelpaw’s parent, as her parents are devoted warriors and this may make their interactions a little more interesting! Also, Kestrelpaw has been making random visits to the medicine cat den since she was a kit (exact reason in her profile), so Fallenheart would’ve known of her quite a bit before she started training under him! That being said, she is a very young apprentice and I would say recently made an apprentice, so her training has just begun.

sure, I am fine with that and that one of Fallen's siblings is her parents. Fallen could make her his apprentice if he didn't have anyone else and needed help + she wanted to become a medicine cat apprentice, so why not choose her to be what she wants?

Emberlight would have a lot of warmth for Beampaw, teaching him with patience and a strong belief that StarClan chose him to be her final chance to pass on the title of Medicine Cat. She'd have this controlled mask, insisting that he take his time to adjust, but underneath it would be a pressing urgency. She might increase his responsibilities too fast, but she'll always be reminded of how she failed Haypaw by pushing him too hard.

Love this idea! It would make sense that the qualities he sees as most important would pass down to her. He'd have a deep sense of pride for the warrior she's grown into, not that he'd express it with words. But she could be better than most at telling his impressed blank expression from his neutral blank expression.

@selasphorys: Hi there! I absolutely adore Cedarstripe, he’s like the kind father/big brother figure of the clan. Would it be alright if I created a brother for him? I envision this cat to be his litter mate, and have similar aspirations for greatness as him. However he’s always lived in Cedarstripe’s shadow, as he was not as fast or as good as hunting, and is infamous for having bad temper. He will be a very straightforward and blunt cat, appearing very unfriendly and unapproachable, but he will be kinder to cats he loves. He won’t harbour any ill feelings to his brother, and still sees his brother as a role model despite how old they are. Do let me know what you think; if you’re not on board with this idea, I may still make this cat but as another clan member!

Aw thank you, I always envisioned Cedarstripe as a father or big brother to his clanmates. I would love for Cedarstripe to have a brother. Cedar would never stop reaching out to his wayward littermate, sticking with him through all his struggles. I'm sure that he would have practiced hunting and battle with his brother throughout their apprenticeship, and even as warriors. Cedarstripe cannot stand strong forever. I could see your character being a rock for him in his darkest moments, like when he lost his mate. Cedarstripe refuses to show weakness, but he can find strength to hold on in his determined brother. I think they could have a very sweet dynamic. I love your character already and I'm excited to see him soon!

Additionally, I wanted to reach out to you about Kestrelpaw and Beampaw. They are both young medicine cat apprentices who recently took on their position. The upcoming half-moon meeting will also be Beampaw's first. Beampaw lacks the natural skill with scents that Kestrelpaw has, so he will really look up to her. Maybe they could slowly become friends over time?

@selasphorys: Oh yes our apprentices! I'm definitely open to having them become friends over time. Kestrelpaw, having chosen the medicine cat path by her own will, might find herself having more differences with Beampaw than she initially thought. Interacting with him will also teach her a lot about understanding others and empathy that she hasn't encountered much before.

personality:
though almost a spitting image of his brother cedarstripe, the two could not be any more different. oakstone is the resident unfriendly cat of lightclan. often, it can be hard to tell between his normal grumpy expression and his actual angry expression (except for his brother, who understands him very well) but when he is actually angry, his words will have a sharper bite. he is very straightforward and blunt, but the advice he gives to his clanmates are always from the heart. he is not the best listener or most empathetic, but there is something about his stoic and non-judgemental silence that can comfort others. he is ambitious like his brother, but less skilled and possibly less likeable; however, these haven't stopped him from pursuing greatness, even in his older age. he enjoys communicating with those who share his ambitiousness and will encourage them to reach higher goals.

history:
born to a former lightclan deputy and a senior warrior, oakstone was exposed to the mantle and duty of warriors from a young age. he often trained together with his brother, their drive and persistence rivalled by none except each other. however, he never really stuck to the code as strictly as his brother did, and was one of the first few cats to show any kindness towards darkpaw --- or more of the fact that he didn't actively torment her at all. before long, he received his warrior name, named stone for his constantly identical expression that seemed to almost be set in stone, and also for his steadfastness and how he never failed to be a support his clanmates could trust. he battled alongside his family against dawnclan, and grieved together with cedarstripe after their father's death, and also after doelight's death. he is a strong pillar of support to his brother, working together to help each other as painful months passed. he watched foxstrike grow with pride, helping to advise the younger cat and encourage him, though foxstrike might have been a little scared from his harsh words. while oakstone never had a family of his own, he had a strong bond with the missing deputy grassheart, and wants to find any answers from dawnclan as soon as possible.

Just wanted to check in about DawnClan's patrols while I write Gentianstep's post, since the setup I had in mind might cause some drama:

• The first hunting patrol will be Silverstar, Flameflurry, and Sprigpaw.
• I was thinking that the second hunting patrol could be Thistledown, Shadowfire, Lightpaw, and Skypaw since they were already making plans to train together. They could have hunting practice together and maybe do some battle practice later if they would like.
• That leaves Gentianstep, Salmonsurge, Juniperclaw, and Spirepaw for the border patrol. This could be problematic since the latter three are the most aggressive cats in the clan, and Salmonsurge in particular has a conflict with Cedarstripe. Two of the cats on the LightClan patrol also tend to be hostile, so there could be drama at the border later on.

What do you all think of this setup? Should there be drama before the gathering, or should we wait until the gathering for major developments? Should I rearrange the patrols?
