PART TWO

A I could think about for the following month was the bird. I had killed it. But not on purpose. It was simply my duty. I worked at a pet store, and collected birds like her to sell. she had died of a broken heart because of me. I had not let her free. That night I lay in bed. Exactly 4 weeks since she had died. I fell asleep. Durning the middle of the night, I woke up to a strange warmth. Around me was a bright white light. And there in front of me was her. ((More? Sorry, I has writers block >.<)) ((?))

This is a tale of sweet obsession. When the thing they want most can only be reached by conquering their biggest fear. An obsession for something that might not exist. But wouldn't you risk everything to find the one you love if you believe in them, or even hope?

The shadow sped across the dewy pasture. The roar of enragement echoed around him, the crackling bolts of Her father's fingers touched Earth around him, beckoning him back to his tree. But no, not when he was this close. If he kept this pace, he might be able to get a glimpse of her. He was against the gods themselves at this point. How dare they seperate him from his one true love.
Faster, faster!
His sides started to ache, but the warming thought of her voice nourished him to push forward.
The clouds seemed to thicken. No, they were growing. Coming down. The fog swirled around him, like a thousand spirits choking him. The whispers of their haunting voices... their touches, he felt them. Sorrow, pain, remourse. Nothing to encourage him further.
He was closing in on the spot. Just then a thunderbolt cracked a mile from him.
He fell into place in the circular light of the pasture- the only light. Dying with anticipation, he looked up. Rim as smooth as a sphere, gray as a mouse's fur, and a smile bright enough to light a million lanters for a millenium- all in one night.
"Thalia!" he called above the screeching wind.
The sky boomed, and after he blinked, his only joy vanished from full form, to half of what She was, to a sliver, to nothing. He knelt down, and let the peaceful drops of rain fall on him. He would now have to wait another solstice, just for a glance at Her.

If your joy vanished in the blink of an eye, wouldn't you want to be swept away in the storm?

Hey Little Sis.

So they told me to write something for the Oracle because they all think I have a special gift for writing. The Oracle's our annual poetry/short story/art journal. Remember how I told you last year that I thought it was so lame? Well, here I am, writing in it.

Anyways, I decided to write you a letter. I miss you a lot, kiddo. I miss the way you used to run into my room at 5 in the morning and pry open my eyes, asking if I was awake, which clearly I wasn't. I miss how you used to laugh whenever I did my animal impressions. The monkey one was always your favorite, the one where I'd cross my eyes, puff out my cheeks and pull my ears out to the side. You thought it was just the funniest thing, didn't you?

I remember that one time you got super sick and instead of going to soccer practice, I stayed home and watched The Little Mermaid with you. I was so embarrassed and resentful when Mom asked me do do it, but we ended up having so much fun. We always had fun together, huh?

I'll never forget when you made up that silly holiday, Brother's Day. You thought it was so unfair that there was a Mother's Day and a Father's Day, but nothing to celebrate brothers. So you pretended that Friday June 20th was Brother's Day. You framed a picture of you and me laughing together on the playground swings and painted "World's Best Big Brother" on the top of the frame ... though you spelled it "Worald's Besst Big Bruther" because you were only 6. Now that I look back and remember that day, it doesn't seem so silly. That picture's still pinned up on my wall.

People used to tell us all the time how much we looked alike, even though we were 5 years apart. I used to get so embarrassed and deny it, but you always beamed and looked so proud when someone told you that you looked like your big brother. Now, whenever people offer their sympathies to me about you and reminisce about how similar we were, I feel nothing but proud.

I suppose you were watching from above somewhere up in heaven, but at your funeral, I was supposed to put your stuffed bunny in the coffin with you. But I just couldn't do it. It was the only thing that really symbolized your life that I had left. Small, sweet and always available for a hug. So I kept it instead.

Alright, I suppose I should end this now. I could never really even attempt to write out everything I want to say to you, all the things I never got the chance to say to you ... but for now, I'll just miss you and that's enough for me.

you told me that your life was of struggles...
you told me that you would stare, day after day,
walking to the ledge, staring at the black ground beneath you.
you told me you thought it would be so easy, so simple,
just to take one step forward. to jump.
I was scared for you. I didn't want your life to end.
but you told me not to worry. you said that you knew
that you were to weak to jump.
so I was calmed, if only for a moment, I was calm.

I stood on the ledge that day. seeing what I knew you
saw, everyday. I knew you weren't watching, I knew that
you weren't there. the black ground seemed so distant,
the breeze, so unnerving. yet, it didn't matter.

do you remember, how you told me that you would be
by my side? how you promised me the moon upon a platter,
your hand in mine to forever hold?

my arms were beside me, spread like wings, my eyes
trained upon the ground below.

do you remember how you broke that promise? how you
left me behind that day in the snow?

I took a step forward, knowing that nothing was there...

remember how you told me that you were to weak to jump?

My body, felt weightless, all my emotions swept aside,
tears spilling from my eyes as I fell slowly, just barely
kissing the black ground.

Brielle was never the one to fall for someone, but Zach just had a charm. Like the charm where you want to spend the rest of your life with them. One day Zach and Brielle had a huge fight, they swore never to talk to each other ever again.
Brielle found someone else, she fell madly in love with him, but they began to drift apart, as Brielle had thought.

Brielle flicked her silken tail angrily, the stars that'd she'd woven through the long hair knotted together with each flick of her tail.
"Brielle! Brielle!" one of the pack puppies called, Bree[as she'd been calling herself.], turned around, her floppy ears pinned down. "What do you want, Smoke?" she said, her eyes narrowed. 
"Uh... Someone is here to see you Brielle." Smoke said, his green eyes wide.
Brielle trotted quickly to the egde of the pack's territory, the sun had set, causing Brielle to trip over a stick. She growled under her breath, she'd been upset since her mate after Zach left her.
Bree saw a figure in the dark, she could barely see it, but she recognized the smell under other smells.
"Whoever you are, follow me." Brielle said softly, leading the new wolf down into the center of the pack, where the pack had lit a fire.
She sat down on the grass and gazed at the wolf. She was startled when she saw it was Zach.
