The brown slender and slightly smaller one saw the smile. They couldn't help but smile back a bit, and nodded to Alius. "I think...I might just have to take you up on that offer. Oskari was a really good alpha," they said, then shook their head. They then sighed as he spoke of Castor. "I'm sure it is grief...but I wish he'd speak to others rather than just Oskari. Like...me. He could speak to me. Now that Oskari is going to be gone...I worry he won't talk to any-wolf at all." Alius then asked about the beta. "I...have no idea, maybe one of the she wolves? It could also be another male like you." They looked up and over as Aztec approached. He told them, with little to no emotion, that Oskari had passed...among other things.

They only shook their head, once, twice. They figured some wolf, or more than one, Destiny included, would be taking care of Alpine. They focused on the ting Aztec said about Castor. "Our den," they said with a huff, then nodded to him. They watched as he then went back, going to hunt. They turned their attention back to Alius. "Why does Aztec have to be so emotionless?" they asked. They shook their head a third or fourth time, then glanced around a bit.

The light golden she wolf with the white marks and ambery eyes smiled at Rose. She dipped her head to them. She said "You can probably go wait outside, see if anything needs to be done, Rose. Unless you just want to wait here," she said.

The pure white wolf twitched creamy ears and shook their head. They said "I'm...fine waiting right here, though maybe I should go out..." They didn't know if it would bother Risen. Having them waiting there and seeming to be watching him and Tulip. They turned to look over their shoulder. Some of the others were walking around or standing, talking.

The pretty she wolf followed the scent as well, tail flicking. The fluffy she wolf twitched and perked her ears. She watched him run around growling, and shook her head. She then joined him in doing the same, and the elk began to run. She was more focused on the elk than anything, in that moment. Cloud then signaled he'd found the one, so she ran over to help.

He looked a little surprised when the Castor stormed past the healers, he was not afraid of it or anything just confused, he was into his own thought that it took time for him to even realize what just happened. Oskari's death was a shock for everyone even if it was only a matter of time before that happened everyone here knew that, but still it hit like a hammer. So he didn't blame the alpha's actions at all, everyone mourns in different ways, someone got angry, someone wants to be left alone when others don't, and someone seems pretty cold. He shook his head with a sight to Alpine asking how he was "I'm fine, that was not..." he responded to the soon-to-be alpha, but looked shocked when the male almost fall to his front legs "...Oh come on, Alpine..." he called out, not the way the healer could act at, but he was telling the other wolves to the pack to eat and rest even if they were worried about the Oskari's sickness for many times.
He sighed and looked at Alpine "he is fine just exhausted for anything, a cold water to the face or the scent of fresh prey will wake him up" he said to the wolves around him. He looked to the clearing for all those other wolves who were watching them "you sure found a nice time to go to sleep, my...alpha...not the best action to get your new position" he said to him, with a smile. He knew that this collapse was nothing bad, it was just for exhaustion, maybe all the stress just come out at the same time when the Oskari's died.

She left the elders den her eyes looked immediately to the way of the healer's den, the den where her old-time friends were being fought against the sickness. She took a deep sight as she noticed all those high-ranking wolves around the healer's den and the faces those two healers are be making. She knew for sure that Oskari was left for sure now, somehow she felt peace than her friend could need to suffocate anymore, but she felt sad too that she could not see him anymore or have a talk with him.
Her eyes looked around the camp as well for all those wolves she saw so far, the tensions there felt rather dark, even if most of them could not know what truly happened yet, but it was something everyone thought to happen eventually.

He blinked his eyes "what a relief" he said rather coldly, he was never being that close to the older alpha, maybe because the Oskari didn't seem to like him that much or didn't know how to control him. He looked at the cleaning "I mean...why suffer more than you had to" he said his eyes narrowed to the collapsing beta there. He know that that was nothing serious, as the beta seemed too healthy to die together with its predecessor, which could just be dishonored and sad.

She looked at the little prey there the Aztec was bough to the mothers and pups, once again she felt useless, but she didn't want to sink into her depression, it could make things just worse, especially when most other wolves seemed her that way and she wanted to prove them to become something else someday. She perked her ears at the male wolf commenting "of course Aztec..." she responded silently, not shyly but a little bit annoyed though she didn't want the other wolf to see that. She looked back at Firelight, shaking her head "no, I am not, but it will wait, I need to do things before eating...I am omega so...I have things to do..." she said to her, actually as an omega she didn't have things to do, instead, she didn't want to get yelled by others if she goes and eats before most of the pack.
If the old alpha was really dead what she believed was true, she knows that giving food to Pandora was a waste of time now as the stubborn elder could not eat in time like this, maybe a little bit later she could bring her something when she had mourned enough.

He keep watching the two wolves in a safe distance, seeing the herd too, seeing which elk they got after. It was a big one, which could be hard for him to steal away without being chased away or attacked by those two wolves. Instead, to steal their catch he decided to utilize their hunting method and see if there were other smaller elks running around. He spotted a small female elk there, which seemed to be still young. He could not wait for too long as the herd was already moving, so he needed to move immediately. He run out of his hiding spot and speed up toward the small group where this young doe was, the herd was already panicking because of those two other wolves and the young doe did the mistake as the doe run away from the other elks. When the doe noticed her mistake it was too late, he jumped to the does pack and pushed it to its side. He had luck on his side now, the two wolves scared the herd away and he managed to find a young inexperienced individual there.
He finished the doe quickly before looking over to the two wolves in the distance, they could've noticed him for sure now, but he didn't really care they seemed to get their catch so what could they want from him?

"Okay. Take care Aztec." Naomi hummed softly. The female peered over at Solstice, feeling sympathy for the skinny omega. It was a shame that any wolf had to be in the position that omegas were in, though that's not to say that she didn't understand why. Some wolves broke the pack's rules and were serving out their punishment, and some simply were too weak to survive without a pack. As for Solstice, Naomi felt she deserved better than the omega role. From what she's heard the poor she-wolf was born into the ranking thanks to her mother. "And you too, Solstice. I'm sure Pandora would appreciate the company." She spoke kindly towards her, taking care to not be as harsh sounding as Aztec was. If she wasn't in need of food because of her unborn pups she'd sneak Solstice the other bird.

The female then grabbed the two birds into her jaws carefully, shook her creamy fur free of any snow, and padded over to her little nest in the den. Naomi scratched out a spot to ensure maximum comfort then she laid down and began eating the first bird. Naomi ate carefully to not dirty up her pelt or paws too much. It was hard to clean them when everything was frozen over. It didn't take the she-wolf long to finish eating as the birds were small. She licked her jowls afterward, cleaning anything from the bird away, then gazed over to Hemlock and Rovana. The sight made her excited for her own pups to be here. At the same time, she was terrified. There was always a chance that these pups would have the same fate as her prior litter. A shiver ran through her. She couldn't go through that again.

The pretty she wolf grabbed hold of a leg, as Cloud went for the neck. The animal let out a cry of anger but also worry. She could tell that's what the sound was. She smelled another wolf around...but was focused on her and Cloud's prey.

indentation Alpine, twitched his ear and blinked slowly. He raised his head wearily, looking up at the crowd of healers, his mate, and River. "I'm okay." Alpine shifted to get to his paws. He felt Destiny and River beside him and smiled slightly at their warmth. He leaned lightly against destiny as he swayed on his paws. "Thank you Gideon, Aleck, Eve." He dipped his head to each of the healers in turn, thanking them silently. Alpine looked at each of them. "Thank you, I know you all did your best for him. And I thank you for that. We will hold the funeral for him tonight, before I announce the new Beta at moonhigh. But first, hunting must be done, the prey hollow is as empty as it has even been. I will lead a hunting party out to the grasslands to see if we can find some elk that haven't left yet." Alpine moved to take a step, but a lightheaded feeling washes over him and he leaned back against Destiny. "I need to find Blaze."
indentationAlpine shook his head, clearing it. He began to walk over the prey hollow to check out and see if anything was left. He peered into the sheltered area and grunted in frustration. "Have the Mothers and Pups been fed? We need to focus on feeding the young and the old. River, make sure the Healer's get something to eat soon, please." Alpine smiled and licked River between the ears. "You've grown up so fast." Alpine turned back, looking to see who else was out and about. "I'll take Echo, Rose, Xerxes, Milana, Khlone, and Huxley." Alpine muttered, more to himself than anyone else, listing off the wolves that would be a great help to take down some bull elk if they found any. Alpine began to make his way towards the pack den's going to look and see where everyone was.

indentation Aztec slipped out of the camp entrance, out into the untouched white snow, there were little indentations in the snow from where he had stepped earlier that morning, but the freshly fallen snow had filled in the paw prints mostly. Aztec looked around at the snow covered ground. It was so peaceful and quiet out here, there was some soft bird song, but not much, and that was about it. Aztec pawed around in the snow, searching for any scent of prey that he could find. It had taken him all morning to catch the stupid rabbit. He had wasted way too much energy on that skinny thing. His stomach rumbled and he grunted in annoyance. He hadn't eaten anything since late yesterday morning, and it hadn't been much, just a small little bird, not unlike the ones he had brought to the mothers. Aztec moved from his spot so that his paws didn't freeze to the earth. He made his way through the snow blanketed forest, trying to find some hint of life, prey anything, He would give anything for a little scuffle to get his muscles warmed up.
indentationAztec sighed passing a tree with the scent of some small mammals at the base, but they were old, they were from about two and a half day's ago, if he had to guess, so the scent was pretty stale. Curse this winter! he snarled to himself. It seemed that this winter had been longer and harsher than the past winters. There was less prey than before, Aztec wondered if that was because the pack had more mouths to feed. The pack did seem to be growing. There were a lot of members now, most of them weren't even born in this pack. Aztec shook his head and continued on, trying to find something that he could bring back to the pack. He wandered along, thinking about all the pups that were due this spring, and he hoped that spring would bring plenty of Elk for the pack to hunt, but Aztec feared that the herds had moved on.

indentationEcho watched as River raced away, off to Alpine's side. Echo's ears twitched as she heard a voice next to her. She didn't need to turn her head to know which wolf it was, she knew right away from the scent, having grown up in the pack. She thumped her tail on the ground to let Peach know she had heard her, before turning to the small she-wolf. "Good morning Peach. I trust you slept well?" Echo sighed heavily, watching River walk with Alpine and Destiny. she looked at the beautiful female with longing eyes. "I was just about to go hunting with River, until..." Her voice trailed off into nothing. "Never mind. I'm pretty sure Destiny is going to tie Alpine to the ground and force him to get some sleep, so I think I should be good to go hunt for a few hours. Would you like to come with me, seeing as River is a bit preoccupied?" Echo glanced over at the older female, wondering if she would say yes. Echo really wanted to go with River, but at least if she went with Peach she wouldn't be alone.
indentationEcho glanced back down at her paws that were once white, but were now slightly brown due to the mud and snow melt clinging to her fur. "The prey hollow is empty, and we have a lot of mouths to feed, so if we are going to go, we'd better go. And before all this new snow covers up the scents." Echo looked up and watched the thick flakes fall to the ground, sitting on top of the snow that had already fallen.

;; As Echo spoke, Peach couldn't help but pick up on the heavy sighs that would often trail behind her words. Paired with wandering eyes, it wasn't hard to figure out that Echo was dealing with some sort of inner turmoil. Then again, Peach could sympathize with a wolf that held rank. It probably had something to do with Echo's stressful job, so Peach decided to let her curiosity die as Echo continued to talk. To be honest, Peach could find a million other things that she would enjoy doing rather than hunting, but she knew she had a part to play and if hunting in the cold, mud and wind meant she was playing that part, count her in. Sure. She nodded, standing to her paws and shaking the snow that was starting to accumulate to her fur. You're right.. we better get going. We don't want to carry anything back in a foot of snow.
Peach tried to flash a friendly gesture as she passed the Beta, heading for the entrance to the tree line. With the whipping wind, the scent trails were bound to be all over the place. They'd be out here for while. Every so often, she would turn and check to make sure Echo was nearby. The last thing she wanted was to get lost out here on her own in the cold. I keep getting stale scents... Peach huffed, turning her ears to her tail in annoyance. Something big went through here recently, but I don't know what it was. Do you smell that?

Hux was currently toying with small mounds of snow between his front paws. First, he would put it into one large hill, before he smashed a paw right into the center. He would giggle silently to himself, before he would repeat the process all over again. However, right before he stepped on his snow hill for the seventh or so time, the sound of paws crunching against the snow (other than his own) caught his attention. Then, Alpine's signature scent came through, carried by the breeze. Sitting up, Huxley prepared to greet the Alpha.

The pretty she wolf glanced around, as the buck finally fell down. She saw there was another wolf in the same area...He, she guessed it might be a male, had a doe. He seemed to also be looking at her and Cloud...and she wasn't sure she liked that. Sh pe quickly turned her attention back to the light colored Cloud. "There's another wolf here," she muttered. She then began to eat as well. After all, they'd both brought the buck down, so she could eat it too.
