↬ prompt: For Thistlestar, finding a gift for Willowheart was relatively easy. The two had bonded a decent amount since she joined the Clan, and she loved telling him about the things she enjoyed. He'd decided on getting her a small mouse toy and a few delicious snacks, and also some Twoleg's weird broken ring he thought looked pretty cool. Deciding on a gift for her took only a short amount of time. When it came to Frederick, however, he wasn't sure at all. He didn't tend to talk to the medicine cat much, especially since he didn't quite like anything Twoleg-related while Fred was practically obsessed. Still, Thistlestar respected Fred a lot and considered him a friend, and so he wanted to get him something he'd like.
He asked Willowheart, who suggested he get Frederick something that would remind him of his time as a Kittypet. Simple enough. But all the ideas he had just didn't seem suitable. Fred already had accessories, he already had a few random knick-knacks and Twoleg items like cups, toys, and a book he couldn't read. What would he even want? He spent almost a whole month pondering the question, going out every night to the nearby Twoleg city, searching high and low for any ideas on what to get. Milk? That would spoil too soon. Snacks? Fred already had plenty. He asked the local Kittypets, who suggested toys, cat treats, and catnip. Well, Fred had enough toys, but cat treats and catnip both sounded like good ideas. However, none of the Kittypets were willing to part with theirs, even when Thistlestar offered to pay them.
Time was running out, and he desperately needed to find something. Anything. He wandered the city streets once again, his head hanging low and his tail drooping. He was exhausted from going out every night, and he was about ready to give up. Fred would probably appreciate any gift, even if he didn't like or want it, but... The leader made his way into a Twoleg's yard, climbed up the stairs to the porch, and jumped atop the railing. From there, he could peer into the house, though he couldn't really see much. He squinted his eyes, scanning. Everything was either too big to take, was ugly, or was something Fred probably wouldn't like. He was about to turn around and head back to camp, but something caught his eye. In the corner of the room, there was a cat lying down on what looked like the usual Clan bedding, except it wasn't made of moss. It seemed fluffier and softer, and much more durable. He needed it.
He reached over and scratched the glass lightly, causing a screeching sound. The Kittypet jolted up, glancing around for a few moments before her eyes landed on him. Upon noticing him, she stood up and dashed over, the bell on her collar jingling loudly. She exited through a small flap at the bottom of the door, and jumped onto the railing with him. "Who are you?" She asked, though her tone was friendly rather than wary. "Your fur's kinda dirty and clumpy. What happened to your face? Are you okay?"
"Yes, I'm okay," he replied. "I'm Thistlestar, I'm the leader of ThistleClan."
She tilted her head in confusion. "What's ThistleClan?"
He didn't really feel like explaining it, especially since she wouldn't be interested anyway. With an internal sigh, he said, "We're a group of cats, we stay together and protect each other from harm. We have different roles, like I'm the leader, and then there's the medicine cat, who helps heal others. We stay in the wilderness, away from all the Two... uh, Housefolk."
"That sounds really cool, can I join?" The Kittypet asked excitedly. "I'll stay here mostly, but I can visit you all once a week or so!"
"No, you'd have to give up your life with your Housefolk entirely," he responded, slightly irritated. Most Kittypets didn't even understand what Clan life meant at all, no matter how much he tried to explain it to them. He usually didn't try to recruit them at all, hence why his explanation was so shallow. He changed the subject. "Anyway, I didn't get your name."
"I'm Belle," she meowed happily. "So why'd you come here, Thistlestar? If you guys hate Housefolk so much?"
"I have a cat in my Clan who used to be like you. He still likes Housefolk stuff, so I was going to get him something made by them." He nodded towards the window. "What was that you were sleeping on?"
"Oh, my cat bed? It's pretty cozy, but I prefer my Housefolks' bed or their couch. I only sleep on that because I don't want them to get offended. Actually, I usually don't even use it."
"Then can I take it?" Thistlestar asked immediately, leaning forward with his ears perked. "I'll pay. You want freshkill?"
"Umm, just take it. But! You have to let me visit the Clan. Once a week. At least."
Well, he really wanted to limit Kittypet visitors if at all possible, but it wasn't like they never got Kittypet visitors anyway. Some of them just wandered in to ThistleClan territory as they pleased, and were simply too nice for Thistlestar to kick them out. He pondered for a moment, glancing from Belle, to the cat bed, to the forest, and then back to Belle. Sighing, he said, "Okay, Belle. Go for it. Since I have to show you the way to camp anyway, will you help me carry the bed? Preferably in something that will hide it, as the gift is meant to be a secret."
"Sure!" She purred. She led him into the house and towards the bed. He pressed his paw up against the bed, and was surprised by just how soft it really was. Fred was sure to like it. "Wait here, I'll be back," she told him, running off. He sat down beside the bed, waiting patiently with his tail wrapped around his front paws. Belle was back moments later, holding a large bag in her mouth. She brought it over, and the two of them carefully stuffed the bed into the bag. She helped him tie the bag around his body so that the bed was balancing on top of his back. The two of them then left the house, traversing through the Twoleg city and entering the nearby forest as Thistlestar led the way towards the Clan camp.
Finally Thistlestar had a gift to give to Frederick, and he'd found it just in time. He just knew that Fred would love it!

Oakspeck has still not gotten Hazelpelt a present. He's worried she will not like
anything he gets her, but it's a task that has to be done. Oakspeck racks his brain
for a gift idea.
Hazelpelt, Hazelpelt.. Oakspeck thinks. What reminds me of Hazelpelt? What
reminds me of Hazelpelt that isn't embarassing? he wondered. Maybe I should try
to tell her I like her with the gift..?
That actually wasn't such a bad idea, and Oakspeck silently applauded himself for
even considering it. He decided to go with his new idea and found a few hazelnuts
underneath his moss bed. He punched one hole in each of the nuts.
He grabbed a black 'marker' (that's what the twolegs called it) and drew sweet faces
of reindeer, snowmen and Santa Claws on the hazelnuts. Oakspeck took some thread
and stuck it through the holes he'd made in the hazelnuts, creating a necklace.
He closed it at the back with a crystal Atlantis had given him. She'd told him to use it
when it was time. Oakspeck smiled - Atlantis was the biggest Oakspeck/Hazelpelt
shipper. He found some green wrapping paper and a red ribbon and carefully wrapped
the gift and made a bow with the ribbon.
Oakspeck didn't know if Hazelpelt was going to like his gift, but he hoped it said
everything he couldn't. He grinned and started humming a melody he'd heard earlier
at the Twoleg Camp.

carrionhornet was so engrossed with his duties along with the added stress of the winter and all the things, and lack thereof, come with it. he completely forgot about Christmas and what he would gift to his beloved burdockberry, that when the day finally arrived, he had to hurry and get them a gift. so with an excuse of 'last minute gift' she got them a bright soft pink bow that they can decorate their fur with.

A flash of inspiration, and she carefully plucked off the little cotton ball on her hat. They'll be honored by the gift, surely! Her eyes gleamed hopefully, and she was off to present it.

honeysuckle paced back a forth, looking at her creation then looking away again. her long tail flicked two and fro as she trotted around the glittering sand. circling the monument she had spent the last moon crafting. what stood before her was a multilevel sculpture created of stones and vines, she had just transferred the pieces in the middle of the night to the sanctuary, setting it in the very center of the sand for all to see. as her clanmates slept she was up decorating, adorning her masterpiece with flowers and gems she had found while scavenging for moons. her eyes glittered with delight as she picked up and placed the gems and flora about the grey rounded stones.
the molly had made a rather large form of a fountain, it was a gift for all of her clanmates, she thought it would serve as wonderful reminder of the beauty in their solidarity and love for one another. blue flowers sat in the small divots of the stones to symbolize water, the vines wrapped around each of the stacked stones in the most elegant way she could muster. she placed the last bit of red and green jewels into the bottom stone bowl. honeysuckle paced around the bottom the garden fountain, placing little white flowers about the bottom, tucking them into the sand. the cream molly then stood back and looked over her master piece, tilting her head and looking it up and down. once satisfied her whiskers twitched and she padded tiredly towards the medicine knowing cherrysprout and moonpaw wouldn’t mind her snagging a nest to sleep in. she closed her eyes fully content, her heart danced in her chest as she wrapped her tail around her face curling up tight. she could wait until sunrise, she hoped her clanmates would love her gift to them.

It's hard, to give a gift to your family.
It should be easy, after all, family knows each other best, don't they?
Well, maybe normal families know each other best. But Silentstep well...nothing about his family could be considered "normal", could it? His mother had been a kittypet, his father a clan leader. His half brother was the new clan leader, and his young nephew was the leader of a clan in direct opposition to his half brother, and Silentstep called his nephew leader. Smokeclan was much...healthier, than Shoreclan, Silenstep had to admit. There was still the occasional dispute, every group of cats had that. But the clan rallied around one another in a way the Shoreclan never would.
But Silentstep, despite knowing that this was where he belonged, still couldn't help but feel like an outsider. He was one of the oldest cats in the clan, and he had grown up in Shoreclan, leaving as a full warrior, after Shellstar had become too much to bear. It was basically a banishment, without the proper rituals.
Silentstep sighed, shaking his head to clear it of the fog of the past. He had to focus. He was running out of time, and he had to get a gift for Smokestar and his family!
Tideblossom was fairly easy, Silentstep had found a nice patch of earth that he was planning on leading the healer to, it would work great as a garden for herbs, and it was much closer to the camp than his existing farm.
Nectarheart was an outgoing cat, and it was easy to see how he enjoyed the ocean, so Silentstep had caught a bunch of small crabs in the tidepools to gift Nectarheart their shells, as well as teaching him how to catch his own. The way the water echoed in the shells, as well as the taste of the meat would be perfect for the young tom.
For Sandwhisper, it was a bit harder. But Silenstep had decided he would take her to the caves he had lived in during his psuedo-banishment. Although she wouldn't be able to see the glowing crystals that had given him light during the long months, she would still be able to sense the presence of history, of the ancestors, and maybe even be able to speak to someone from her family's past. It was a great gift to give the heir of the clan.
For Honeyroot, Silentstep had gotten a bit of honeycomb. Maybe it was a bit weird to give a gift that was in the giftee's name, but...well it was all he could think of.
But for Smokestar himself, Silentstep was drawing a blank. He'd tried asking Tumblecreek, Dawnflower, even Nightpaw! Although it had been terribly awkward to speak with the ghostly apprentice again, as Starclan had revealed to him that it had been Silentstep's mother to kill the medicine apprentice .
But he hadn't been able to think of anything that would work as a gift.
At least, until he had seen Coppertwist laying on a large flat rock in the sun. A nice bit of relaxing, and it was like a lightning bolt from the stars. That was what Smokestar needed more than anything, was a chance to not be the leader. To relax, and stretch out in the sun and let his worries melt away. And so, Silentstep began to wander through the territory, looking for the perfect spot to bring his nephew.

Sunstone prepares a gift for everyone in the clan! Even if Mossstar is heavily against it. He gives everyone a personalized gift - usually a discarded ribbon of sorts that he found from old twoleg campsites. He always makes sure to give everyone a ribbon of their favorite color! Sometimes, he'll even decorate them further.. by twisting them into bows, maybe twisting them together. Sometimes tying them to be like necklaces!
