I'm doubtful there will be any splits, since we already have 12 different outcomes. Looking back on previous years, there haven't been too many growing litters since 2011. However, of the ones we did get, there was one split in the teddy bear dogs back in 2015, one split in the chickens in 2014, and all the rest haven't had any splits. So I think it's
fairly safe to say there won't be any splits.

that feet thing was simimar to how i was able to tell them apart too! i noticed that one is fully brown, a solid color while the other seems to fade and have a lighter color towards the bottom of the body so i agree with that! all of these outcomes were so cute and even though telling the difference was a little hard, i think it made it a little more fun:)

I did some research and I think they are definitely otters.
Here is a picture of a baby otter. This cutie looks very similar to the pets we got today. Look at the tail: It looks the same.
This photo of a baby otter also shows the similarities (round head, super tiny ears, nose kinda blends in)
Baby minks have a more rat-like head and bigger ears.
Baby ferrets have a more triangle-shaped head and a different tail shape. The nose doesn't blend in very much. They also often have the typical ferret pattern and none of today's pets have a pattern.
There also is a 1977 TV special called "Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas" which could explain how otters would be related to the Christmas event.
