indentationAlpine's ears flicked up when he heard Destiny's voice. He turned his head when she called his name. His eyes brightened and he let out a happy whine. He gratefully accepted the nuzzle that she offered. He turned his head to see her better. Alpine mentally curse his stupid eye. Ever since the attack of one of the other packs when he was younger, he had been slightly blind in his left eye, it made things very difficult sometimes. Alpine nuzzled close to Destiny, pressing his side into hers, careful not to get her beautiful gray fur muddy with his mud covered paws. Alpine smiled and sighed happily at her warmth. "Good morning, my love!" Alpine said, giving her a gentle lick on her cheek. "Did you sleep well, My darling?" He looked down at her lovingly. Alpine loved her so much. His heart swelled every time he saw her.
indentationAlpine's ears twitched back towards the Healer's den as another weak whine echoed into the clearing. He swung his huge head back around looking intently at the entrance. When Destiny spoke he barely registered what she had said. "What? Oh, yes. I know they will. They are the best Healers Fortex has had in a long time, now that Pandora has retired. I know they will take care of him, but I can't leave him. I can't. Destiny..." Alpine turned to face his mate, pain in his eyes, his voice on the verge of breaking. I'm not ready yet. I'm not ready to become Alpha. I haven't even gotten the hang of being Beta and all the responsibilities that go with it. How am I supposed to manage that plus the weight of leading the pack? I don't think I can do this. Why did he choose me? I'm nothing special. I'm just a wolf, that's all.." Alpine trailed off, growling softly at the ground. He was finally voicing what he had been worrying about for a couple months now, ever since Oskari had gotten sick. This was something he hadn't even told Destiny, until now, when it all came spilling out to her.
indentationAlpine whined softly when Destiny suggested that he get some sleep. "I can't, my love. You know I won't be able to. I promise I will sleep later. I need to make sure... I need to.. make... sure..." Alpine leaped to his paws as a yowl rang out from the Healer's den. Alpine whined desperately, trying to think of something that he could do.

indentationAztec pushed his way into the camp area. He had just come back from a hunting mission, but he had come up empty pawed until on the way back when He had found a thin rabbit, and even the rabbit would be barely enough to feed two pups, let alone the pack. Aztec entered the clearing he looked around, spotting Alpine sitting in the middle of a line of a melted snow. He watched as Alpine's head snapped up as he entered the camp. Aztec shot the Beta Male a sharp glare, which he didn't think Alpine saw because he looked back at the entrance to the healer's den. Aztec rolled his eyes, not caring why he was over there.
indentationAztec walked over to the Prey Hollow where he dropped his catch in the hollowed out area. It was pitifully empty, only his rabbit and a couple scrawny looking birds lay there. Aztec knew he would have to go out again soon, the pack needed food, there were a lot of hungry mouths to feed. Aztec spotted Firelight across the camp and wondered if she had eaten yet today. She could have, but he doubted it. He scooped the small rabbit back into his jaws along with the two birds. He might as well bring food to the rest of the Mother's. He huffed and padded over to the Mother's den.
indentationAztec dropped the food at the entrance and made sure that his fur brushed against the brambles, making noise so that the Mother's would hear him approaching. He sighed and called out to them. "Firelight? Hemlock? I brought food, if you want some." Aztec's nose twitched and he sat down, waiting for the mother's to come out or allow him to enter the den.

indentationEcho blinked rapidly, having been pulled out of her daydream haze by River's soft voice. Echo looked down sheepishly. "Oh, no. You didn't wake me up. I was up already I was just looking for someone who wouldn't mind going hunting this morning. There isn't any prey in the hollow." Echo was given away by the sharp rumble from her stomach. She tried to pass it off by clearing her throat. "Anyway, I noticed you were whimpering and moving a lot in your sleep, are you okay? Was it a nightmare? Do you want to talk about it?" Echo realized that she was rambling and fell silent, looking down again. "Sorry." She muttered quietly.
indentationEcho cursed in her head. This was so unlike her, she never used to shy away from other wolves, and she still didn't. but when it came to River... Well, things were different. River made Echo feel things that she had never known she could feel. She remembered she had only felt this one time in her life and that was when she met a Male from another pack. She had felt butterflies whenever he looked at her, but no other male had made her feel like that, especially the ones in Fortex, they all seemed to, well, male. But River, she was different. She was, well, female. And she was beautiful. So beautiful, especially when the sun hit her pelt just right and it really brought out the browns and reds in her soft... warm... fur. Echo shook her head, snapping herself back to reality.
indentationEcho glanced up at River, the pretty female was looking at her. Her beautiful warm brown eyes, looking into Echo's own Golden ones. Echo felt the butterflies coming and she felt hot under her fur, even though it was snowing outside. She glanced around, making sure that there were no other wolves listening to this conversation. Echo hoped that River, didn't notice how awkward she was being. For some reason she felt like River would turn away from her if she knew that Echo had a huge crush on her. To give herself something to do Echo broke eye contact with River and looked over at her sister Solstice who appeared to still be sleeping where she had left her. Echo cleared her throat nervously, hoping that River was oblivious to her nerves, but doubting that she was.
