↬ prompt: When they were first deciding on a song to play for the party, it was a nightmare. Frederick was suggesting Christmas classics such as "All I Want For Christmas Is You" and "Silent Night", but Thistlestar shot down each of his ideas. "Too soft-sounding," he'd say. "No, not that one, either. It sounds too Twoleg-y."

"You pick a song then, Thistlestar," Fred finally said.

"Okay, I will," the leader replied. After eons of sorting through song after song, he pointed to his choice triumphantly: "1 Hour of Calming Sounds for Kitty | Cat Music | Good for Sleep".

"That's not..." Frederick sighed. "Nevermind. Um, just choose something else."

And so Thistlestar got back to scanning the list; however, none of his suggestions were well-liked. The two of them bickered on and on, and neither of them realized that the time for the party to start had already passed, and guests from outside began pouring in. Willowheart, thinking quickly, played a song that she personally found enjoyable -- "Jingle Bell Rock".

Fred didn't waste any time in abandoning his feud with Thistlestar to begin dancing, bouncing on his paws excitedly. He tried to get the leader to join in, but the grumpy tom only shook his head. Willowheart nodded her head along to the beat, though she felt too awkward to try anything else. Soon cats -- and other animals, too, everyone was invited -- all around them were dancing, enjoying the music. Well, everyone except for Thistlestar.

Thistlestar's paw tapped the ground lightly, but he quickly stopped as soon as he noticed what he was doing. He glanced around. No one was looking. He double-checked. Triple-checked. And then his paw-tapping turned to swaying to the beat, and that turned to full-on dancing. His expertise in swimming and hunting led him to have very fluid, coordinated movements. His nervousness melted away, and before he knew it, he was dancing not just to that song, but the next song that played, and the next, and the next... He hadn't even realized a crowd had formed in front of him.

He only realized once Fred called out, "Nice, you finally got the Christmas spirit! I didn't realize you knew how to dance!" And when he realized, he immediately stopped dancing, watching the crowd sheepishly.

Willowheart, realizing he was embarrassed, quickly jumped beside him and started to dance a little as well. Her moves weren't quite as fluid, and weren't quite as mesmerizing to watch, but it was enough to give the leader more confidence, and he happily resumed his dancing. Everyone else at the party excitedly began dancing as well, and life was breathed into the party once more.

Despite all the pleasant music that seems to be playing from who knows where, barely anyone seems to be in the mood to participate in the pleasantries. The only ones that seem to be interested in participating are Elijah and the other Anomalies, although Garion is insistent on them staying away from the Veil or any of their members.
Happy Teddy Bear is just pleased to be included in something for once, frankly, even if Elijah is a little upset that she doesn't get to take her friend to see the other cats on the island for the festivities.

Hymnal, of course, is quite pleased, although not enough to celebrate. He makes it a point to disregard the music and the festivities. He's still reflecting on what the god of everything told him before he disappeared, about his actions eventually leading to his demise. He's not a fool, of course, and will do whatever it takes in order to avoid meeting the wrong end of the knife (as it were).
It's just a matter of time until he makes his next move.

Whatever sorts of twolegs it took to visit the island in the cold of winter, Smokeclan had found themselves surprisingly enjoying the creatures company. The twolegs were a small group, and they camped in the heart of Smokeclan's land. And as they worked through the day, they played a beautiful music that many of the former kittypets recognized. It didn't take long for them to visit the twolegs, purring and enjoying the attention. No twoleg had ever taken a cat before, and Smokeclan knew how to run, or fight if they needed to.

But battle would not be needed this winter's eve, for the twolegs seemed to enjoy their company through the day, content to let the cats slink away at night to the safety of their nests. Even Cloverleaf, timid and still afraid of walking about the territory despite the passage of time since the illness that had left her blind, had come, displaying a surprisingly clear voice as she sang to a song the kittypets called "O Come O Come Emmanuel".

As the days passed, more songs were sung, and Ryeblaze showed himself as the best dancer in the clan, although he was quickly seconded by Glassflame.

in spirit of the holiday season, some of the cats created a small playlist of fun, upbeat christmas music! even if it was a little too chilly outside than they would have liked it to be, they were glad to put their duties aside for a moment and enjoy themselves. dancing definitely wasn't the strong suit of some cats and received playful teasing from their clanmates.

To everyone else's dismay, Dandelionstrike insisted on playing dupstep. He was very adamant about it and no matter who offered to change the song to something more appropriate or entertaining they would all be met with a firm "No."
After a while of suffering, a plan was hatched to get Dandelionstrike away from the music.

Dandelionstrike had been enjoying himself immensely dancing along to the obnoxious music until out of nowhere he felt someone jump on him, knocking him onto the ground. He let out a shout of surprise as his face landed in the dirt. Looking up he saw Maplestride standing above him, a mischievous grin plastered across their face. On the background he noticed Pumpkinshine quickly run up to change the song to a much calmer one.
"Aw c'mon!" He complained.
Maplestrike simply laughed at his response and backed up to guard the music, "Sorry bud. Looks like it's our turn!"

Despite his brief disappointment, Dandelionstrike was soon back to having fun, this time with everyone else.
