• hmmm. i wouldn't want to talk to him, but i'd just like to observe arcade gannon. like, i would just want to see what an average day for him looks like. he was sort of my trans awakening so i want to study for the test of Stealing His Gender and Identity ykyk (/j) no, in actuality, i think i'd be able to learn more about him by silently observing him existing than i would be able to gather in a conversation. however, my presence might throw him off from doing the things he would normally do, so i don't know if that would be possible.
  but he's an intelligent dude who just wants the best for the people of freeside (who are like,, the extremely poor people of the new vegas wasteland whereas like,, mr house is the capitalist overlord and the strip is his sanctuary where only the rich and important people are allowed to thrive),, but like,, idk he's a bit of idealist? like,, he has Thoughts for what saving new vegas would look like,, and no matter the ending, it just,, never turns EXACTLY how he'd hoped and i just,, i can relate to that quite a bit, yk? he also describes himself as boring and while,, idk,, it oculd be a Cover Up for something, i will take it as face value because as a guy who also describes himself as boring i like to see myself in the characters i like

  OKAY so i liked vhs christmas carol: live! the first time i watched it through, but upon a rewatch i did not enjoy it as much as i originally thought i did. i mean, starkid has never really like blown me away with the writing, yk? it's funny and silly and at times even emotional, but it just can't hold up to musicals like heathers or hadestown (just mentioning those specifically bc i love them and they have their own issues but theyre just So /pos) ...well okay that's not actually true because twisted is possibly as good as both of those shows, BUT that doesn't serve the purposes of the narrative i'm currently constructing so forget all about the fact that i said that, okay? BUT like yeah,, with starkid generally what i would expect is like,, great music and like,, funny but not much else dialogue with some potential for likeable characters. so yeah,, like my expectations aren't really high to begin with ykyk,, so the idea of them retelling a story like a christmas carol,, is actually pretty good, because it gives them a basis with which to work on,, (also it should be noted that this musical was written by clark baxtresser whereas a lot of the other shows have been written by nick and scott lang (i think that's the name of nick's brother im sorry if i got that wrong but also not that sorry bc i dont really care)),, but idk also it's a christmas carol,, and it's like,, rich guy redemption arc which is just,,, not what i want to be seeing in my twenty twenty-two youtube recommended yk? like i know it's a classic tale or whatever but idk it's just,,, feels in poor taste i get BUT PUTTING THAT ASIDE,,, the musical has it so all the dialogue is sung WHICH IS PERFECT for starkid, bc the thing i love the most about their musicals is the music!!! so it's like,, giving me the best parts,, but idk,, it did cause me to notice some things about the music that i didnt necessarily love, mainly the actors' voices?? like some of them were PHENOMENAL,, like dylan saunders??? dude always knocks it out of the park (and he's a big reason why twisted was so good!!),,, AND OMG JANAYA??? her voice is BEYOND amazing,,, like omg i was almost in tears when she started harmonizing with dylan in 'this scrooge' (or whatever that song is called i need to look up the titles but i havent yet hahah) they are easily the best vocalists in the whole show,, love them, especially when they're singing together,, i hope janaya will continue to appear in starkid shows :sob: :hearts: but then you get some of the not so great ones like,, brian rosenthal,,, he was great in a very potter musical...yk bc it was avpm and it wasnt like, A Serious Musical,, so yeah,, you get something where like you need to like, actually be able to Sing in a musical theater sense and it was just,,, not very good?? idk i don't know much about the technique so like,, maybe he was Hitting All The Right Notes and i just don't like the sound of his voice but,, it sounded really off particularly in 'this scrooge' which is like,, almost unfair,, like i almost pitied him bc like, how are you going to put someone with a voice like BRIANS with the ANGELIC TONES of dylan and janaya???? like they're just setting him up for failure smh,, also other brian and meredith came back for this show and while i wasn't really impressed with other brian's voice (which is not entirely his fault bc he reminds me of this guy i used to go to homeschool group with so every time i hear him like,, speak or sing i'm like 'ewwwww') meredith surprised me,, she plays jacob marley and i really liked her vocal performance. it's definitely not anywhere near dylan or janaya or OMG COREY HOW COULD I FORGET ABOUT COREY coreys voice is so snazzy i love him,, i was so happy when he got his solo song in black friday and while he didnt have a solo song in this musical he did have some time to shine so i will let it slide (i guess...but im watching u starkid :angry:) OH also aj came back,, he didn't get to sing a whole lot which was like,, kinda disappointing bc i really like his voice,, wizard of the year from avpsy was on my mind for at least two months and part of me is still excitedly screaming about that song,,, but yk idk the parts that he did have...weren't great? idk it felt like, the timing was off or something?? i couldn't tell exactly but i think i probably would've been disappointed more if i heard him sing for much more. okay one more vocalist to talk about and then i can move on i promise OH WAIT NO I LIED I HAVE TWO BC I FORGOT ABOUT JAIME,, the song they gave her didn't really show off her range that well i think,, like, the song's range was just v limited and so it sounded a bit...monotone i guess? but idk,, i didn't mind it that much bc jaime's voice is p pleasant and i enjoy listening to her sing,, also there was some dylan singing thrown into that song as well so what's not to like ykyk? BUT ANYWAY OKAY last one,,, okay starkid fans if youre reading this i need you not to hate me for this but,,, I HATE THE SOUND OF LAUREN'S HIGHER REGISTER,, dont get me wrong,, i love her lower register,, like,, her singing in what if from firebringer is beautiful yk?? but it's just when she goes into the higher notes that i just,, want to plug my ears KJFSHKJHFS idk what it is about her high notes specifically but they rub me the wrong way,,, AND THIS MUSICAL HAS HER SING NOTHING BUT HIGH NOTES SDJFHSDKFJH,, it's almost like falsetto???? idk it just did Not Sound Good to me,, i mean ive heard that musicals in general tend to rely on female vocalists to do some of the more Technically Impressive singing ykyk,, and maybe this is just,, how that presents in starkid but like,, lauren deserved better smh,, so yeah there's my opinions on all the vocalists except for james and jamie bc james i couldn't tell if i liked the song or his voice and jamie didn't really have any like,, Major Singing,, so yeah KJSDHFKJDFH but idk the musical as a whole was...pleasant,, i just,, idk i feel disappointed even though i had watched it once before bc it wasnt as good as my brain tricked me into thinking it was,, THAT BEING SAID i love the eighties aesthetics that was very snazzy to see a musical devoted to being so,,, cheesily eighties ykyk good stuff
  wait i just realized i forgot about joey, i like joey's voice he sounded good but also he will forever be known to me as officer petey from jessie so i cant love his voice THAT much (that's a lie bc when it comes to spies are forever i will cry every time at his singing in one step ahead like,, his voice isnt AMAZING but the emotions get to me and i dont think i would like that song as much if it were sung by someone else,, but idk the emotional impact of that song is hampered by the ridiculous writing choice to (spoiler warning,,, i think the musical is better if you have this knowledge beforehand but idk it's up to you) make curt and owen's relationship a plot twist???????? like just let the gay spies be gay spies already,, in an alternate universe we get the cute relationshipy moments to set up the [REDACTED] that happens later but in this universe all we get is [REDACTED] but i love spies are forever,, possibly more than vhs a christmas carol?? idk at some point i need to do a tier list of starkid musicals plus spies are forever,, bc my brain needs a ranking system to understand my emotions towards the Content I Consume /hj) *insert joke about officer petey being perfect because i distracted myself with spies are forever and now i don't want to go back to what i was talking about before*
  edit: alright this is already so long so i should probably just leave it here but i just have to say i had paused right before the third spirit came and jamie did such a good job!!! like she had wordless singing so she was just going 'ooo ooo oooooo ooo ooooooooo' over and over again with increasing intensity but DAMN with dylan and her combined it's just,, almost brought a tear to my eye,,, okay that is all goodbye~

rn i've been digging just driving to school when it has like a little bit of peppered snow outside and drinking my chai and listening to the undertale ost, specifically the songs snowy, shop, and snowdin town. it just makes me feel so idk??? present?? its so nice i recommend doing this

random funny memory -- one time my friends and i went thrift shopping and bought really fancy looking cheap dresses then took the train downtown and went to dinner ;-D not at a fancy place mind you... it was fast food... but we thought it was funny at the time ahahha

I've made a habit of writing up my lecture notes, usually a few days later. Not only is it useful since I don't always manage to write everything up during the lectures (thank god for having access to the powerpoint slides) but it's also nice to refresh my memory and study. And since I enjoy writing and filling up notebooks, it's just something fun to do.
^ Not entirely sure what the difference is between an Irish and regular pub, but I do hope you enjoy yourself! Hope the pints aren't too expensive! (from someone who paid £10 for a single drink yesterday and is sorely regretting it now)

^ yeah, it's really disappointing to get a worse mark than you thought you would, especially if you worked hard on it,,, that being said, don't let it get you down! i tell myself to see my failures as chances to learn and improve rather than something inherently "bad", and that it's perfectly normal to not always perform super well. take it easy and don't beat yourself up over it, cs user chevalier <3

• yes, i've coded quite a bit signatures for my profile and at least three for other people. coding for others makes me a bit nervous though, since i don't know what exactly it'll look like on their screens.

yep, i made my signature! i also used to code warrior cat games on scratch when i was little. i log onto that account occasionally for nostalgia and those games are still surprisingly popular despite their quality lol
thinking about the christmas parade i'll have to miss we had to leave the car at the mechanic's, unfortunately
