SNOW HAS PLAGUED MISS KITTY FOR ALL 33 MOONS OF HER EXISTENCE.
Today was no different from any day of Miss Kitty's life, and she preferred it that way. She never minded the snow nor the cold that came with it. Though today, a different feeling accompanied the normal cold ache in her bones. She couldn't recognize this feeling yet, but it swallowed every comfort she ever appreciated.

Miss Kitty's twoleg had been missing for seven days now. She was stolen from her by a loud and angry monster. Its presence turned the snow itself bloody in bright flashes. Miss Kitty had never been so afraid. She wasn't able to protect her twoleg and now suffered from the suffocating loneliness her disappearance brought. She had never paid much attention to time before, but now its passing was the only thing she could think of. It seemed to force the days to become even longer. The nights were sleepless, with what little sleep she had infested with nightmares of cats in conflict and pain.

A sudden loud knock on the door made the soft fur on the cat stand on end. She was excited to see her friend again. To hear the shuffle of her paws and see the thick colorful pelt she always accompanied in the cold. She didn't see her, instead, a large twoleg with a smooth and tattered pelt came into her home. Fear quickly overcame her disappointment. She didn't want to be comforted by anyone else's hands, so she hissed and clawed to ruin his pelt even more than it already was. His long limbs reached down and a sickly sweet voice accompanied him. Miss Kitty ran out of the bright opening before she could think. And she kept running and not thinking for a long time.

How long has it been since she ate? When was the last time she slept? Miss Kitty wasn't sure herself. She hadn't been thinking, and her body started to collapse before her mind could.

"What a pathetic life."

Miss Kitty woke cold and miserable. Snow must've been falling on her for a while, as it almost seemed she was buried. She could hear the faint mumbling of others around her, but she didn't care for it. She wanted to sleep more.

"Please wake."

Miss Kitty grumbled in response and glanced over to the voices. She didn't have enough energy to react to the charms she saw. Two cats with a mystic white glow and stars entangled between every piece of fur.

"You are on the brink of life and death—" There was hesitation in their voice. "Miss Kitty."

"We're here to bring you back. You have a job to fulfill."

"Where is she? My friend? My twoleg?" Miss Kitty urged. The two cats looked at each other with wildly different expressions: sympathy and something farthest from it.

"I'm afraid she's left this world you call home." She couldn't believe it. She wouldn't believe it. "We didn't want to separate you two, but now that she's left, you have to continue your kin's legacy. The stars urge so."

"What am I supposed to do? How am I supposed to live? I miss her."

"You have to live. A shadow looms over this mountain. You will protect it."

Miss Kitty began to feel weaker. She was starting to feel the creep of death and could no longer bear to listen to the strange cats before her. She realized what she had felt during these long, unbearable days. She was lonely. The confirmation of her twoleg's passing only solidified this loneliness. This was all too soon for her weak heart. She could only close her eyes in response to her realization. The cat was already too far gone.

"I gift you a new life. You must move forward with strength. Revive MumbleClan from its burying. I thank you, Morningstar. We are always with you."

Morningstar slept deeply through the entirety of the snowstorm. She dreamt of a cozy morning with her friend. Her head rested on a warm lap and every once in awhile she would look up to see her favorite, soft smiling face.

The moon had started well, but quickly descended into chaos. With two litters becoming apprentices, the schedule of patrols had to be shifted around to allow mentors to have enough down time between training and patrolling, and the camp had to be rearranged to accommodate the now massive group of apprentices.

Petalstar breathed a sigh of relief as she finally laid down the last rift of moss the apprentices would need to construct their nests, smiling down at her litter who had insisted on helping. At four moons old they were already so independent and all four were determined to help the clan even more than the rest of their litter.

All eyes were on Indigokit and his already sharp mind, of course. But his siblings, adopted or not, were also showing signs of being exceptional. Minkkit had already started memorizing herbs with Hallowcry and Hollowsong, and Batkit and Turtlekit were respectively more agile and strong that even some of the new minted apprentices, and every day the four competed to be the strongest in the litter. Petalstar could not have been prouder.

As the apprentices began to quarrel over materials to make their nests, the four kits darted off to do…something. They never left camp so Petalstar often left them to their own devices. Plus, Morninglight always kept half an eye on them, leaving Petalstar free to organize patrols, and check on other aspects of camp life.

“You’re a spoiled brat you know that?” Veerypaw snapped, “Just because I wasn’t born in the clan doesn’t mean you’re better than me.”

Ibispaw rolled her eyes, huffing in disdain, “You know that’s not what I meant, I was just born a week before you so THATS why I should get the most feather moss. Plus, with how bony your legs are you’d just tear it to shreds and waste it anyway.”

“Hey woah what’s wrong with you?” Snailpaw piped up, “If we’re gonna talk like than then realistically you’re too fluffy to need feather moss so my sister should have it.”

“Oh grow up all of you.” Finchpaw rolled her eyes, “Just split the moss. It literally doesn’t matter, we have to refresh it all the time. Be glad Petalstar didn’t make us collect all our own moss and had the warriors help us out.”

Ibispaw stared down the brother and sister, glowering but unsure how to proceed, “Whatever, take the moss then if you want to ruin it. Just don’t come crying to me when you’ve torn it all up.”

“Dear Starclan.” Splinterpaw muttered to Egretpaw, “We were literally all playing mossball yesterday, what’s gotten into everyone?”

“I think you mean what’s gotten into my sister,” Egretpaw chuckled back, “And she’s just concerned that no one will listen to her now that mom doesn’t put her in charge. And like, she’s right, but she doesn’t have to be horrid about it you know?”

“I heard that!” Ibispaw snapped, “And I’m only ever in charge because none of you lot can handle the responsibility.”

“Good thing we have mentors to handle it for us hu?” Chickpaw offered cheerily, shooting a devious glance at her brother, who stifled a laugh.

Ibispaw spun and glared at the taller molly, spitting “This is why none of you are ever going to make good warriors!” before storming out of the den they were all supposed to share.

Juncopaw finally spoke up from his corner, startling a few apprentices who had forgotten he was there due to how well his pelt matched the cave, “Soooo…we all have to live with that? For like. At least six moons?”

The others offered helpless shrugs, with Chickpaw mentioning, “At least there will be older apprentices here for most of it too? Maybe that will help her chill out?”

“I doubt it.” Finchpaw disagreed, “Ibispaw hasn’t been chill since we all could walk.”

A nervous chuckle rippled through the den, filled with apprehension for the future.

“Okay so.” Petalstar curled her tail around her paws, Stevie curled against her side as she chatted with Sweetyam, “You’re due in two moons, along with Coalsmudge and Batscreech. That’ll be a full nursery, but my kits and Morninglight’s litter will be apprentices by then so that will clear a lot of space. And you said that Charcoalpatch mentioned something about a girlfriend recently?”

“Something like that.” Sweetyam confirmed, leaning against Coyotestep, her assigned mate and one of her best friends, but not the father of her kits. He hadn’t seemed phased at all, and was mostly excited to get to help Sweetyam through her pregnancy and bond with the kits. “Seemed more like a one off, but I’d be on the lookout for kits in what, three moons? Something along those lines.”

Petalstar nodded thoughtfully, “So let’s hope everyone else decided to hold off for like three moons eh? Give the mentors some time to train up this group before they’re flooded again.”

Sweetyam nodded vehemently, “For the sake of all of us when the kits start growing, let’s hope so.”

“Any news of Haroldflame’s whereabouts?” Stevie piped up, “I know he said he’d come back, I just worry about a warrior so young being out on his own.”

Petalstar shook her head, “Nothing yet, but I hope he’s okay. He’s a good kid. What happened to Adia was…horrible. I don’t blame him for needing some time.”

There was a hush over the little group, remembering the tragedy of the months before. They had been increasingly careful about hunting bats since then, avoiding any that seemed to be acting strangely, incase they were sick like that bat, and thank starclan there had been no other casualties.

Petalstar cleared her throat, “Well, good talk everyone. Keep me updated if you hear of any other possible litters, so I’ll know if we need to try and expand the nursery.”

The little group shuffled to their feet, quickly dispersing and leaving only a lingering sense of loss in their wake.

Cards finally has the talk with Vie. He needs help and she’s not even trying to become a Sylph. He will leave her be as soon as she gets the proper skills and passes her final test. Of course, as long as she does her duty as the Sylph. He’s even willing to take care of kittings himself, she just needs to help him with the injured. He offers that is she doesn’t want to become a Sylph then perhaps she should join the Seers. After that he quickly adds that it would be a shame though because he could really use the help, wouldn’t like all those moons of training to go to waste and reassures her that she’s very smart and great with herbs and could be a fantastic healer if she just tried. She glares at him for a while, weighing her options, after which she says “Fine” and ends their meeting. Cards suspects that she has ulterior motives. She does.

Dandelion has a talk about Sionpaw. He needs to rest to heal his injuries, but next moon he needs to continue his training and at that point he’ll be 20 with only three skills learned. She worries she’s not the right teacher for him. Vez’gamos volunteers to train him. Sion will be very confused when he finds out.

As Junebug does not speak, noone knows what she wants to name her kits. The other maids and mostly Pupdog try to figure it out and give her suggestions.

Patrolling (Stevie): Stevie's patrol encountered the predator. It was something. None of the patrol could begin
to describe the thing they had seen. But each member of the patrol bared injuries of the attack. Stevie received a gash
which quickly became infected, and will need x1 moon of rest or x1 sweet-sedge. Lièvreshell received a
wound which became infected, and will need x1 moon of rest or x1 horsetail. Coffeesplash wound up with
a deep cut over their eye and will need one moon of rest and x1 cobweb. Clovespeck was thrown around by
the thing and broke their leg, and will require two moons of rest, x1 stick, and x1 bindweed. Ashwisp
was maimed, losing their front left leg. They will need 3 moons of rest, x1 cobweb, x1 dandelion, and
x1 willow bark. Needleprick received minor bleeding and will need one moon of rest or x1 horsetail.
Charwhisper wound up with a cut and will need one moon of rest or x1 marigold.

Patrolling (Charcoalpatch): Charcoalpatch's patrol finds a queen! They are a longhair black/brown mackerel tabby
w/ yellow-green eyes, colored by H155 on lines by Grey_Hoodie. Their adult reference was done by H155 on their lines.
Their genotype is ll / B- / XoXo / D- / A- / Mc- / C- / ww. They will be due in two moons.

Patrolling (Badgertooth): Badgertooth's patrol encounters a queen. They are a mediumhair ticked tabby ginger cat
with radioactive green + blue heterochromia and medium white spotting, colored by Chamrosh on lines by Grey_Hoodie.
