it was a cold night and as the snow fell and danced in the wind, as graceful and soft as an angels wing
as they made their way down from the heavens to the ground, two cats walked side by side, one accus
tomed to the cold embrace of winter, the other as strange to the dusting of flakes as ice was to hell.

toulouse giggled as a particularly fat snowflake made it's home on frog's nose and at the following loo
k of disgust and bone-wracking shiver of an icy clutch that frog that hops on lilypads wasn't used to.

the everchase was dark and dull in the best of times, let alone in the dead of winter. it was the first win
ter since toulouse had stepped off that damp, inky and plague-ridden boat and onto the sun-scorched
shores of the swamps of louisiana and he had met the love of his life.

he was so distracted in his own thoughts that was brought on by the blanket of comfortable silence that
had draped itself over the walking couple and the warmth radiating off his mate next to him that either o
f them failed to notice that they were no longer walking side by side and were now stationary.

the cold had only persisted and the snow having only gotten heavier and heavier, their surroundings no
longer the pitch darkness of the forest but a silvery landscape of white and blue, even the cats had gon
e missing, wound together in a flurry of browns, reds and whites as their bodies combined in a dance o
f winter and peppermints, the two having become one of a picturesque christmas treat for a cold winter
s day:

a warming hot chocolate in a red mug, complete with a dozen small marshmallows and matching candy
canes in the shape of their love. x

"...Crowcall?" Blossomcrown asked, before taking the small chocolate out of the view of everyone else and deep into the Healer's Den. "I'll make sure you won't melt until this wierd spell wears off!
