Which pet has the best designs?
And why is it the Butterfly Wolves?

I just finished making all my hoard lists up to date and
now I'm starting to make all the groups I need....
I wasn't ready for 31 groups and 39 pets in just BW ;-;
I might have a problem

Anyway finally passed the "80 threshold" for these two beans!! We're getting there : D

It's that time of the year again: I'm sorting through my hoard groups, re-organising them, and updating my hoard thread. I was wondering:

Do you sort through your hoard groups from time to time? Do you follow any routine when you do?

I usually sort through my hoard groups 2-3 times a year when there is an event going on and I spend a lot of time on Chicken Smoothie. I have somewhat of a routine: I look at every hoard group and mark the ones that need some work. I might have to look up an official name, reduce or add to the number of pets, reduce or add to the number of outcomes, or even disband the hoard altogether. One I've finished the preliminary work, I will make graphics for my hoard thread and update the thread. I have many hoards, so this takes a lot of time, usually about a week. ^^

Y'alll... this lowkey a dream come true.

I've always wanted to hoard an advent pet that fell on my birthday, but I was never too crazy about any linearts I got and sometimes only got items. I've only participated in a few of these so ><

Anyways, when I came for the reset, I saw.... man i would recognize that art anywhere since she's my favorite CS artist, not only did I get a unique line art, but it was also LILIAN's?!?!?!? Like bro, have to hoard these! But Lillian's art is always popular so it's off to a pretty rough start since it's generally easier for me to gain access to large amounts of event pets, but I've noticed christmas advent pets are usually harder to trade for. Anyway, I've got around 17 so far I think but I just love these guys to death :') and it's a MILESTONE bday too this is such a crazy lineup~

My hoards dedicated to Lilian arts lmao

I have also been reading the replies to my question earlier, glad to know I'm not the only one and some of you are even finding good name suggestions for your hoards (:00

I have a few hoards going- none are very big just yet, but I’m working on it! This one is my favorite and my priority. I instantly fell in love with the first one I got in a trade, and her name was Dawnflower. It reminded me of a song we performed when I was in choir- Hymn to the Dawn, by Gustav Holst. And so, hymn to the dawn was born! It’s unlimited at the moment!

I also have Easter Lily, which I started because I adore ratties and my dad took me out for lunch and gave me a lily every Sunday when I was a young child. The flower has always held a special place in my heart.

Love seeing everyone’s hoards! The funny names are the best! :D

Edited to add: I can’t believe I missed out on the Hoarder Secret Santa D: I’ll just have to go randomly gift people their hoard pets if I have them xD

Edited again to add: I’m also hoarding this year’s Halloween Horses, because I’m obsessed with the line art, and the Butterflywolves because I’m obsessed with the designs <3

Hello hello everyone! I've been lurking this thread for a bit but never really had anything to post until recently. I've only started hoarding since the internet event because this goofy lil cat broke me and i wanted a lil hoard of them lol I've only done hoards of 15 since thats a nice "even" number to me funnily enough aha

Right now I have 6 hoards completed and 2 in progress ^^ but soon to be 3 maybe because im reaaallly thinking of doing another 15 pet hoard of the blue roan blep horse today lol

One of my WIP hoards is Hanahaki of the 2020 halloween foxes! Its one of my favorite tropes and i was able to get 15 of the silver and red foxes, just now need to get the others! Im pretty close on the brown/green and the gold ones, but the black ones is for sure the hardest to find for me it seems OTL i feel like im in the final stretch tho ahaaa

my second WIP hoard is why I'm finally commenting. I wanted to checker the apple horses from last month i know theyre apples but they remind me of my favorite candy which is sour wild berry mix gummiworms/sour patch kids so lmao but im really not too sure how to get about it and its starting to feel overwhelming, especially since i've been gifted a good about of the "strawberry" horse and now it feels like i have so little "blueberries" in comparison. is there any tips or advice to go about doing checkboard? or is it really go in blind and hope for the best it all lines up aaaaa

Congrats, and welcome to the party!!
Love love love your tall neck hoard and fennecs o-o.

Checkers are *fun* both actually and stressfully
The best advice I've seen is to
a) trade for ALOT of them across different dates. So don't just go for ones adopted on the 1st if they are a monthly pet.
b) is to do swaps with other people. This requires you to either keep track of the pet "ID" or dates. Then send trades asking people to swap with you : )
You can even ask if other people who hoard the pet (not in checker) would allow you to look through their sets and swap with you (since they would have a large selection)
c) personally I look to try and trade for one of each outcome from one person whenever possible!

I did this sort of "placement" for my new year's dogs' collection.
But I'm actually attempting my first proper checker now with the Reindeer lions from 2018.
(it's a bit of a =-=)

I'm sure more experienced checker-ers can give you even more advice but this is my two sense since I was here <3

The above advice is very sound. I'm attempting my first checker hoard since the summer event with the Hati & Skoll butterfly wolves...which, in all honesty, is an ambitious goal of a 100 pet checker. I've decided to go with option A myself and just trade for them whenever I see them (to the point where they're making me so happy I may just make it an unlimited non-checker hoard so...I guess I played myself). I'm no expert though, I just figured if I traded for enough of them, EVENTUALLY I would have enough to get a checker pattern in the amount I wanted ^^'

Similarly, upon going through some of my older dual-outcome hoards where I had 100 of the pets total, I decided to try and checker them while cutting the hoards down to 20 each: Get These Jokers Off My Point & Pokemon: Sun & Moon! They look rather nice imo =^)

In unrelated news, these new dogs from today's advent...OMG...they remind me of a game I played on Steam called Dogsled Saga...I need 100 of them...AND I missed the St. Bernard outcome TToTT </3 THANK YOU thenullchrysalis for GIFTING ME THE ST. BERNARD OH MY GOSH TToTT <3 You're so sweet, that made my night!

Houndoom I immediately thought of you when I saw the new Bernese mountain dogs! Haha

In other news I may or may not want to hoard the new Advent dogs... i haven't decided if there's any in particular I want more than others so for now I'm just slowly trading for all of them. I'm a sucker for realistic dogs. And they're so big and floofy!
