minal Investigation Division, and a rather
cessful one, at that. Mason was raised by
his father alone until he was a little over
eight years old, when his father was shot
in the line of duty and died in hospital.
With his mother unable to care for him,
Mason was placed into the foster care sy
stem, where he did not exactly thrive. H
e became a 'problem child' in school, fre
quently getting into fights, and often spe
nt more time out on the streets than wit
h his foster families. Mason very nearly d
ropped out of high school, but was motiv
ated to succeed by a desire to get into a
good college and fulfill his lifelong drea
