Both toms had been quiet with grief throughout the walk to the moonpool but now as Harespring gazed at the moonpool with its icy water glimmering with the reflection of the stars, he took a deep breath and said, “No but I will be.” The gray deputy gazed uncertainly at Cloudpool and at the medicine cat’s reassuring nod, Harespring lapped at the icy water and lay down. As he began to drift off into sleep, he was dimly aware of Cloudpool settling down next to him.

at last, the thaw has come. flower buds replace snowdrifts, and the land is freed from frost.
clan can expect to find more prey, more herbs, and more cats looking for a home. however,
predators have started coming out of hiding as well, and may pose extra threats in the nice
weather; beware to those who try to challenge them.

Whiskered Away

Hunting (Bacup's patrol); Bacup's patrol catches x1 lizard, x1 rat, and x1 egg. The rat had put up a fight,
and while Creamsickle and Genshin were attempting to catch it, the large rat dug its teeth into Creamsickle's shoulder,
causing such severe bleeding that it didn't stop bleeding till hours after the incident, and Genshin was also bit, but much
less severely. Creamsickle will need two moons of rest, x1 burdock root, and x1 raspberry leaf. Genshin will
require one moon of rest or x1 goldenrod.

Hunting (Nightfall's patrol); Nightfall's patrol catches x1 small fish.

Patrolling (Rainstorm's patrol); Rainstorm's patrol was going well till Bluesky scented a predator nearby. The patrol
can either come back next moon to chase it away or leave it alone and see if it leaves.

Patrolling (Northstar's patrol); Northstar's patrol was attacked by a large stray dog. While the patrol was able to
chase it away, Shark suffered severe bleeding after shielding Northstar, and will need two moons of rest, x1 cobweb,
and x1 marigold. Moondust received minor bleeding and will need one moon of rest or x1 horsetail

Patrolling (Aristaeus's patrol); Artistaeus' patrol encountered an adult. They are a ginger-and-white mackerel
munchkin shorthair with dark brown eyes, colored by Inky. on lines by Grey_hoodie. Their genotype is LL, XO-, --, D-, --,
Mc-, C-, WsWs, Mkmk.

Herb Gathering; Cards and Vie gather x1 cobweb, x1 marigold, x1 horsetail, x1 raspberry leaf,

Meteorfall stood on a low branch where they could be easily seen in any part of the camp "Can I have a minute of your attention?" the few cats that inhabited that place slowly gathered around their guide "Good evening, everyone" The light guide drew a smile on their muzzle "As our numbers have been growing- I think it's time for me to choose a subguide. A subguide would have a similar duty than me, of not commanding, but organizing and guiding our group towards a brighter future. I shall make it clear that my goal is to make a welcoming and safe place for any cat who wishes to be a part of us - one where we are all equal. For that I've decided that Gleamingonyx would be the better fit for a subguide" Meteorfall glanced at the surprised seal point, although Onyx had always tried their hardest to help Meteorfall and the clan, the insecurities in the back of their mind were constantly whispering they were never competent or good enough to get that kind of recognition from their leader.
The leader spoke again, "Is everyone fine with this decision?" Onyx nervously ran their eyes over their companions afraid of their responses, would anyone not want them as a subguide? But the only reactions the seal point found were some smiles, nods and a couple of shrugs coming from the mostly indifferent cats. "Alright then, if any of you have any issues don't hesitate to talk to me, have a good night!" And just like the cats gathered around their guide, they scattered away and continued with their affairs.

While discussing their duties with the clan in a border patrol, Meteor and Onyx stumbled across a clueless grey and white cat. Said grey cat seemed very excited to talk to the two lightwalkers, questioning them about their fully outdoor and human-free lifestyle. Inviting the cat to visit the camp seemed like the ideal thing to do, and upon arriving there the cat begged to stay.

After being named, Mistmask was approached by Copperbreeze "I'm curious, Mistmask" The tortoiseshell circled around the little grey cat "If you had such a luxurious life indoors with caring humans who gave you the best food to eat and the most comfortable beds to sleep in... why do you even want to be here?"
"I like it here" Mist kept a straight face with the short and direct answer.
"Oh, but why? How could you prefer *this* over the comfort in there?"
"I just prefer being outside-" They nervously looked away trying to ignore the tortie point's growing aggressive questioning
"Listen here-" Copperbreeze growled "I know very well that if any cat who knew indoor life and was given the choice between being with humans or outside, they would choose the former. Then why are you here?"
"Being here is better than being in my old house" Mistmask lowered their head "It was lonely there. I used to spend the whole day locked inside, I can't remember the last time I had a friend, I think I've never had friends to begin with. And no quality food or toys can make up for that." the small grey cat sighed, and looked annoyingly at the tortie point "...and honestly... you're the one who seems eager to live as a house cat" Mist spoke as they turned their back and walked away, leaving Copper alone.
