The Last Mantis
Kevin is half asleep when GLaDOS suddenly chimes in, waking him with her omnipotent voice. He chitters in anger at the computer system. He is distracted from his rage when a portal opens for the test subject. He begins to jump for joy at the development. He had been right after all! He peers through the portal, trying to figure out where in the building it led to. Having memorized the available details that he could see through the portal, he tears through the paneling in search of the room. Pieces of metal bent and cut by his claws fall to the floor making a loud racket.

{...Sincerest apologies for not posting! I haven't had much muse or time. e.e...}
{...Alphonse Roblin...}
Alphonse walked tiredly through the corridors behind Aperture's testing chambers. He had no clue where the hell he was or how long he had been hiding. It had been at least more than a week since Alphonse's escape from GLaDOS's sadistic control. He was hungry and tired, but was used to the pain and weakness by now. The AI's promises of cake taunted him, and he almost wanted to believe her. However, he didn't want to risk his life for simply quelling the movements of his empty stomach. He had to keep walking and searching for other test subjects.
Alphonse used his very useful and life-saving Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, or portalgun for short, to aid him in maneuvering through the run-down back rooms of Aperture. He could tell the AI was only beginning to work on the unseen areas of the facility. Hopefully, she couldn't harm him from where he was. He was beginning to feel very heavy from the walking he had done. The day was almost at it's end on the outside world, but Alphonse didn't know that. He only knew when a day began and when it ended by each time he either fainted or went to sleep.
Alphonse found an old test chamber observation room and walked in. The floor was a pattern of dark and light blue checkerboard with many scratches upon the surface of the aged vinyl. There were three solid walls, all a pastel blue colour with the paint beginning to peel off. The fourth wall was made of glass: a window used to observe the test subjects as they made their way though the chamber. The window was shattered and a few pieces of glass were missing from the pane. There were several computer screens on the walls and all seemed to be either broken or in DOS mode. The screens in DOS mode seemed to have some sort of code scrolling across it. There were two pale coloured desks and three orange, overturned chairs in the room.
Alphonse looked out the window and saw a simple-looking test chamber. It was an ASHPD test chamber. He remembered the cursed area like it was only yesterday; it may have been, for all he knows. It was the first chamber he had ever completed; the simple test in which he ran through already placed portals, grabbed an Aperture Science Weighted Storage Cube and placed it on the 1500 Megawatt Aperture Science Heavy Duty Super-Colliding Super Button. He called these two by much simpler names: cube and button, respectively. He reminisced on that horrible first day of the new testing.
After a while, Alphonse shook himself back to reality and attempted to make the space comfortable enough to sleep in. He took one of the chairs, the colour of which mirrored that of his orange jumpsuit, and placed it standing up correctly. He pulled it up to a desk and sat down. The boy folded his arms on the desk and laid his head down. His brunette hair was getting in the way as he tried to push it away with what little energy he had left. Eventually, he gave up and closed his eyes, falling into a deep and much-needed slumber. His dreams were not filled with pleasant events. They were all of faded memories and horrifying times within Aperture's testing chambers. GLaDOS also invaded his once peaceful thoughts.

(( Eeeh don't work yourself to death, civilian_bait. D8 ))
"As a required testing protocol, we are required to remind you that staring blankly through a portal is, in fact, not the correct way to use a portal."
Baker cringed at the voice's mechanical drone, and licked his dry lips. He had absolutely no idea what was going on, but whatever it was, it startled the hell out of him. By now he'd figured out that these 'portal' things probably connected two hitherto unconnected places together -- by what method, he would never know -- and that going fully through the portal was probably the only way to get out of the glass chamber. Still, he couldn't get himself to put more than his leg through, paling when he tried to move farther into the glowing orange oval.
The worst part about it was, the voice kept trying to coax him into going through it. There could not be good things beyond this room then, no matter how reassuring a tone the voice inflected.
"As a required testing protocol, we are required to inform you, [subject name here], that you must go through the portal in order to start the testing."
"Testing?" Baker croaked, his face taking on an even more ashen pallor. What in the world was going to happen to him? Was this some sort of cruel experiment? Was he going to be dissected or something? He didn't exactly want to find out, so he slowly retracted the leg that had been on the other side of the portal, back into the glass chamber. He heard the voice start to protest, but it was drowned by a harsh clang of falling metal.
"...Wh-who's there?!" Baker exclaimed, his voice raspy. Stumbling back, he tripped over himself and landed ass-first on the cold tile floor of the room. Was whoever was watching him getting impatient? It probably wasn't such a long shot to assume that they'd sent someone to drag him through the portal, or worse. "Get... get back! Get back!"
" i have everything to be optimistic about! "

The Last Mantis
Kevin freezes at the sound of a voice. The instincts of the mantis controlling him. Telling him that he must hold still and sway with the branch so the predator won't find him. Its the only way to survive.
No. Not now. Kevin fights the insect DNA for control of his body. He pulls his claw from the metal he had been prying off. That voice wasn't GLaDOS nor one of the security drones. He fights himself, pulling one foot at a time towards the opening he had made earlier.
He pauses at the hole. Did he want to risk exposing himself to GLaDOS? The system knew he was out there somewhere, but not something specific. He clacks his mandibles as he thinks. The subject would probably run when he appeared, would it be worth it to confront him now? Maybe he should wait for the man to retrieve the portal device.
Not giving his mind a chance to think, Kevin thrusts his head through the hole where the subject could see him. He looks down, clacking his mandibles and listening to the sound echo about the room. GLaDOS was saying something, though he had long since stopped paying attention to what the AI had to say. He tilts his head to the side, mimicking a curiosity pose he had once seen on the outside, as he takes in the subject.

(This post may contain spoilers to Portal 2's ending)
(Wheatley would still be in space with the Space core, right?)
im basically never on, so if you wanna with trade me or if you message me, be prepared to wait a while for a response. this account is first and foremost a personal archive for sentimentality's sake as it was a big part of my childhood.

{...Guys, I won't be able to post until Thursday. Sorry.

I'm on vacation and there's no freaking Wi-Fi in the room. I'm at a Starbucks right now; that's the only reason I can post this. xD...}

-Gwen-
It had been one week since she had escaped GLaDOS. Well...it only felt like one week, i actuality it could have been much longer with all the mysterious vapors and constant light source. Even though she had escaped GLaDOS' sights she still hadn't escaped aperture. After escaping through an elevator shaft after one of the test, which was not an easy venture, she had wondered aimlessly through hall after hall trying to find a door of some kind that led outside. Her ASHPD had been damaged but she thought she wouldn't need it, she knew this place somewhat and should've have known the exit but she didn't. It was odd that GLaDOS hadn't made any comments to her yet perhaps she was preoccupied or out of range of her area.
Taking a deep wiff of musty air Gwen hopped onto a moving conveyor belt. It would help her get moving somewhere at least.
"Turret Redemption lines active" Gwen nearly jumped out of her skin at first thinking it was GLaDOS. Nope, it was just that male AI she had heard every few chambers. "Please do not engage with turrets heading towards redemption"
"Turret redemption lines are not ride. Please exit the turret redemption line" She shrugged as she hoped over piles of destroyed turrets among other trash onto a vent. She edged over it slowly as she hopped onto another redemption line. She walked through even more trash before finding another vent to climb onto.
"Get Mad" She shuddered as she heard a voice below her. When she looked down all she saw were broken turrets. Creepy. She walked through an emancipation grill and found herself in one place she was not expecting to find. Through a large window of glass she could see turret after turret being dragged through and firing rounds of their bullets at a dummy that seemed to flail with every shot, she could only stare wide-eyed as she thought of what to do.
~Insanity Core~
"Bwahhahahahaha" Insanity core rolled around amongst the other corrupted cores. Most were shut off long ago behind the glass wall. Something had turned him on somehow but he wasn't sure what exactly.
"They're after meeeee!" He squealed rolling down the small hill of cores as his optic dilated at shadows. He thought that they were the ones after him. They must have turned him on so they could kill him while he was awake.
"STOP YELLING AT ME!!!" He shouted at the wall. Again he shifted but this time many of the cores were shuffled due to his movement. One core pushed against another and another until the glass began to form a small crack. It wouldn't have cracked if...
"STOP STARING AT ME!!" Insanity core screamed loudly, almost louder then human hearing, and thus the glass wall cracked. The cores rolled out of the crack and spilled out onto the nearby floor, some had turned on after this and babbled amongst themselves.
"WHO ARE YOU PEOPLE!?!?!" Insanity screeched which effectively shut them up for the moment.
