This is an in-depth version of the trait guide on the species guide. It clarifies some things and provides clearer definitions for the traits. The % after the rarity indicates its chance to pass in a breeding. Please note this list is subject to be edited as required! New traits may be discovered. If you have more questions you can pm me or ask in the #questions channel in the discord! Please don't post on this thread! Suggestions for phrasing/clarification welcome.
Non-Rarity | Cannot Pass
These traits are not rolled for. An artist may choose to include them if they wish.
Expression/Pose
Changes that show a different pose or expression that the default lineart. This can include the eyes, mouth, and general posing of the ears/limbs/tail. This trait doesn't apply to custom lined Thistlehooves as they are already different from the default lineart.
Accessories
Removable accessories added to a Thistlehoof. These should be on separate layers so they can be removed to see the design underneath (excusing small non-intrusive ones like piercings etc). Accessories that resemble other traits such as fake horns or wings must be obviously fake, being attached by straps/headbands etc.
Custom Lines
A Thistlehoof with lines completely different from the default lineart. This trait cannot be used for MYOs or events (unless otherwise stated) and can only be accessed through adopts.
Edited Tartan
A Thistlehoof whose tartan is different from the default lineart. Not to be confused with edited bell. This may be in the form of a different collar type, or may be entirely different such as a halter, harness or saddle. These edits should still contain the tartan pattern somewhere.
Missing Limb/s (injury)
Missing limbs as a result of an injury. The limb will have a nub depending on where the limb was amputated from. As these missing limbs are not genetic they will not pass on to offspring.
Scars
Scars or scar tissue on a Thistlehoof. This trait also applies to burns, ear nicks and missing eyes (as a result of injury).
Cracked/Broken Horns
Horns that are snapped/cracked/broken.
Weight Edit
Edits that show more/less body weight on a Thistlehoof.
Edited Bell
A bell that is different from the default lineart. This does not apply to the bells colouring - you can make the bell any colour of metal you like. For bells not made of metal, see Non-Metal Bell (Uncommon).
Tattoos
Tattoos on a Thistlehoof.
Whiskers (cow-like)
Small short whiskers similar to those of real life cows.
Prosthetics

Antennae
A pair or sole antennae on the Thistlehoof, such as bug, alien etc.
Long Tail
A tail that is longer than the standard tail. This edit allows for some liberty with fur and width, though extreme edits may require another trait (such as long fur or tail edit (other). This does not affect the switch; for edited switches see Switch Edit (end of tail) (Common).
Hoof Edits
Any edits to the hoof lineart. This may include shape changes or edits to replicate other ungulate hooves, such as horses, deer, sheep, etc.

Multiple tails that all feature different edits are allowed provided all the traits are listed for each tail.
