Storyline

Experiments 54, 63, and 102 have escaped holding area 9. Researchers were collecting blood samples from specimen 54 when holding cell cameras captured experiments 63 and 102 attacking from behind, breaking from their individual pens. Chains were secure around legs and ankles. Somehow, the specimens were able to break free. Specimens flew in from above and executed both researchers collecting data. Researcher's bodies were left dead, appeared to have died from wounds. Experiment 54 was released from restrictions by her cell mates, and all 3 escaped through the emergency door that was coincidentaly bent open with just enough room for each canine to escape one by one. We have been unable to find the cause to this malfunction. Experiments were seen flying down the corridor leading to the exit of the back of the test area. Scientists reported 3 large black winged dogs racing down the hall way and busting down the door, using all 3 of the powerful experiments labeled Shadow, Mika, and Midnight, also known as Experiments 54, 63,and 102.

Experiments 63 and 102 have been apprehended in the surrounding forrest. Specimen 54 has evaded all scientists and researchers alike, climbing high into the atmosphere, flying faster then our equipment could handle. Her speeds and maneuverability have progressed along with her strength and size since being hatched from her egg 2 years ago. Experiment 102 has been euthenized to prevent any other mishaps of the sort, experiment 63 is in a holding cell one mile underground. Her research and growth along with behaiviours will continue from here. No outsiders have witnessed this escape, being hundreds of miles in the forrest has prevented any leaks in information. Plans to persue experiment 54 have been canceled, all federal records of Shadow have been burned and there is no trace of any scientific research done on the Canis Lupus Avianis. She has never been born.
Experiment 54 is still at large.

Canis Lupus Avianis (Cane-us Loo-puss Avian-us), The Winged Wolves
1 Year ago Shadow and her 2 siblings, Midnight and Mika escaped the tortuous fate of The Lab, a scientifical research centre where they experiment in making avian-wolf hybrids, aka Canis Lupus Avianis. All other experiments have failed; either died of disease and lack of immune system, have been euthenized due to dangerosity, or died of mutations in the wings and other parts of the body. Mika and Midnight were captured after making a dash for freedom, but Shadow had been the most successful experiment of them all. She can fly at top speeds that were recorded of 212mph, reach altitudes of 10,000+, has a wing-span of 8ft tip to tip, and is very large and strong.
Canis Lupus Avianis is a cross between the Dire Wolf, Grey Wolf, and a mix of large birds including the Condor, Eagle, Hawk, and Owl. The prehistoric Dire Wolf gives it it's size and hearing abilities, reaching the size of a great dane, and able to hear for miles. The Grey Wolf gives it it's power and strength, along with hunting abilities and present adaptations to today's world. The Condor and Hawk give it it's large wing span and muscle strength to fly faster and longer. The Eagle gives it it's statima and sharp claws, along with soaring capibilities. The Owl gives the Canis Lupus outstanding eyesight, able to see up to 2 miles away clearly.
Appearence
***
Canis Lupus Avianis are large, muscular, powerful creatures that appear as large wolves. Their wings fold into an indentation in the spine that make the wings unnoticable under a flap of skin and fur that fold over them, giving them the appearence of a wolf. The wings tipically span from 6-7ft from tip to tip. Largest ever recorded was 81/2 ft from tip to tip, Experiment 54. Usually to be one solid color, very fathery and muscular as well. Moves like any other large bird's wings, and can potentially carry twice the wolve's weight, making it easier to carry large prey. With one solid blow from either one of the wings, concussions, even death, can occur.
Coat Colors
***
CLA's Coat Colors usually come in a small variety of black, fawn, dark brown, redish, and very rarely white. But some mutations in the skin pigmentation occur rarely, causing color combinations such as fawn and white, black and white, redish and white, or a mix of the above colors. Patterns are normally solid, but can result with splotches, wolf coloring, or random variation of dipped paws, tails, ticked necks, etc. But very few have been recorded.
Eye Color
***
The only known colors of this breed of CLA are hazel and ice blue.
Prey/Eating Habits
***
Canis Lupus Avianis eat all things that the Grey Wolf do including a diet of fish, rabbits, deer, elk, mice, shrew, birds, eggs (bird), snakes, and very rarely another winged wolf's pups.
Territory
***
Winged Wolves live in dense forrest areas with many clearings and usually a meadow or two, also including rivers, streams, ponds/lakes, and scattered trees, mountains, and hills/slopes.
Behaivior
***
Canis Lupus Avianis exploit tipical wolf behaiviors including the pack system, 2 of themost dominant wolves being the Alpha's, with their right hand wolves ranking in at Beta position, and carrying on down to Medicine Wolf, Hunters, Scouts, Fighters, Elders, Pups, and Loners. These wovles are aggressive against rogues and loners but in some cases loners have been accepted into the pack life. All wolves are to listen to either one of the Alpha's, the female Alpha usually being more powerful then the male in the pack.
Other Abilities
***
CLA's have powers. The most obvious, large feathery wings that sprout gracefully out of their shoulder blades and back. The only other possible powers that come in are mind reading, but this is weak and takes very much skill and practice to master, super speed, which, since these wolves already very fast in the air and on land, top speeds in the air reach only 150mph (with super speed) and up to 95mph on the ground (with super speed). The average speed without it is 65mph (on the ground) and 125mph (in the air). A few other abilities mixed in have reported extreme fighting abilities, and extra hearing/smelling/seeing capabilities.
Pregnancy
***
CLA's are in heat every winter from start to finish. The gestation period is 3 months, a bit longer then the average Grey Wolf or dog. If the winged wolf breeds in the beginning of winter, she will give birth in the beginning of spring, etc. CLA's are reported to have multiple breeding sessions to ensure successful pregnancy. Canis Lupus Avianis give birth to 2-4 live pups, although the first CLA's ever were hatched from eggs. The reasoning behind this is unknown.
