Hunting (Nightfall's patrol); Nightfall's patrol catches x2 cat food! Wolfpelt was lingering at the back of the
patrol. As he fell behind, the patrol was not aware of his absence till Impact noticed and voiced her concerns that the oriental smoke was missing. The patrol spread out, attempting to find the tom. Wildfire was the first to notice the scent of blood
in the air. As the patrol raced towards the scent of blood, they were met with the horrific sight of Wolfpelt's corpse in the
middle of the ground, the scent of dog covering his entire body...

Hunting (Bacup's patrol); Bacup's catches x2 small fish!

Patrolling (Northstar's patrol); Northstar's patrol scents a predator. They can either come back next moon to drive
it away or leave it alone and see if it leaves.

Everything was falling nicely into place for eelstar. Opahsplash had agreed to be a mother to his kits, although she rather sharply had told him that did not mean he was to take any liberties with her. He hadn’t been planning on doing so, but it was nice to know where he stood.

Where he stood, currently, was on the beach, scouting for anything they could use to line the hollow Opahsplash had claimed. Maybe some fur or soft feathers left by the animals that came to the beach - kangaroos and emus in the early morning, to take advantage of the falling tides like the cats did, for seaweed and crabs and other goodies.

Despite her best efforts, the young cat - Root, ey said eir name was - had really taken a shine to Terrapinclaw. And, despite even stronger efforts on her behalf, she’d taken a bit of a shine to em. Someone needed to teach em about how to do things. Little scrap was barely old enough to leave eir mother, and well, xe was starting to feel responsible. Plus, ey liked xir stories. So when Eelstar started talking about one cat being in charge of making sure that ey learnt everything ey needed to (so that the clan could be sure that ey was learning everything, and not just the same thing three times) she had squinted and huffed and acted put upon before offering.

She was taking this seriously. And so was the freshly renamed Rootpaw, who had woken her as soon as the water had receded enough to show off the fishing grounds. She would show them off to him too, teaching him the tricks for how you can tell if a crab is under a certain patch of sand. Or how to hook a fish out of a tidepool without sending it back into the ocean. Maybe this would be nice.

STORY NOTES
─ After the disappearance of the ghosts, Tallthorn has been subdued and weary, but he brightens when news arrives that Dovechirp and Crowears have returned from Antonia's labor. In a back corner of the crowded nursery, Crowears introduces his family to his three children: Swiftkit, Buttercupkit, and Thornkit. Each one's name, Crowears tells them, is inspired by the cats he loves most.
─ Cricketpounce calls a clan meeting, finally ready to announce that his retirement and to name a replacement deputy. He then calls for Mintfur to come join him on the Tall Stones. Though there is some whispering and noises of surprise at first, SpruceClan is quick to welcome their new deputy. Darkstone cheers riotously for his dad.
─ Bright and early the following morning, Ivystar presents Applepaw, Lilypaw, and Sheeppaw with their warrior names. Lacekit, Tawnykit, and Deerkit are also promoted to apprentices. The remaining kittens are allowed out of the nursery and out to the Tall Stones to watch the ceremony; Goldenheart makes sure to keep their jealous grumblings to a minimum.
─ Stormchase and Darkstone both corner Betonypaw after she gets out of a training session. She rolls her eyes at them as they attempt to apologize for causing her accident, and instead demands they apologize to one another in order to earn her forgiveness. When they do so, Betonypaw smiles, and tells her old friends how much she'd missed them.
─ Duskcloud and Adderpool find themselves in the warrior's den, sweet-talked into covering Dawnfire's nest duty so that he could ask Greybriar on a date. The two healers chat as they work, joking around about the confession in progress, until Duskcloud remembers that her twin brother wants to have kits. Horrified, she turns to Adderpool and wails about how old they've all become!
─ Cinderstorm summons all of his courage after a pep talk from Bramblingpath and pulls Sunhollow aside after the day's hunt ends. He tells her how he feels, taking great pains to be respectful and lighthearted. Much to his surprise, she enthusiastically reciprocates. A little dumbstruck, Cinderstorm just smiles goofily at her as his new mate scurries off to combine their nests.
─ In the healer's den, Honeyfrost methodically tends to the gruesome injuries Wrenpelt sustained in the fox fight, worried that their lack of improvement may be due to an infection. Thistleflight grooms his fur to distract from the pain, quiet but stubborn in her resolve to be a better parent to her kits.

The clan was buzzing with the news that several cats would again be allowed to go to the gathering. Everyone had had such a pleasant time the last time, and the clan was abuzz with the news of all the kits that were coming as a result of the excursion. Babybite was bitter none would be hers, but she was determined to try again. The little group was eager to leave, waiting only on the leader to get her kits settled and then they could begin the long trek.

The apprentices were almost livid that they were not yet allowed to join. There were angry murmurs as they watched the group, some debating if they could manage to sneak away after the group, but it was decided that they would either be eaten by the Thing or get themselves lost. So there was nothing to do but sulk.

“Okay you lot,” Sweetyam chirped, trotting over to the miserable bundle of apprentices, “No more long faces, let’s get those paws busy! The elders need their nests redone, and whoever finishes that first gets an hour of extra free time tomorrow to ask the warriors about the gathering.” Suddenly there were no apprentices in sight as they scrambled for the storage niche filled with moss and feathers, all eager to learn more about the other clans that were at the gathering.

Heraldflame cleared his throat slightly upon approaching the older molly, “Uh, Charwhisper? Can I talk to you for a moment?”

The tortiseshell molly turned, her brow furrowed at his tone, “Oh course sugar, what can I help with?”

“I-, I don’t know if anyone can help actually.” The pale Tom’s voice broke and he took a moment to collect himself, “You know that, well, you know what happened to Adia.”

“Oh pumpkin.” Charwhisper murmured, “Of course I know, it was horrible. Do you want to talk about her some? I’d be happy to listen.”

Blinking back tears, Heraldflame shook his head, “I can’t talk about her yet. I want to but…” the molly moved closer, letting the tom bury his face in her chest as he began to sob.

“Let it all out hun, it’s okay.” She murmured, wrapping a paw around the lanky tom’s shoulder. “It’s gonna hurt for a long time darlin’.”

The sobs wore on, slowly becoming less and less violent until Heraldflame raised a tear streaked face, desperate for answers, “What would you do, if you lost Ashwisp? How would you keep going?”

Charwhisper paused, considering, “Well. I’m not sure I know sugar. I think I’d need to take some time to myself, to remember him and figure out what to do. It’s hard to cope with, the loss of the one cat you love most. I think I’d be as lost as you are, even at my age.”

Heraldflame looked distraught, clearly hoping for a different answer, “So this is all I can do? Just. Keep hurting while I pretend everything is okay? Keep telling all our friends not to worry about me, I’ll handle it?”

“Well, not necessarily.” Charwhisper murmured, still holding the younger Tom close, “Like I said, it may help to take some time to yourself. Ask Petalstar to take you off patrols for a while, step back and let yourself feel everything for a while. And when you’re ready, come back and talk about her with people who cared. Remember her together.”

Heraldflame looked empty, but nodded. “Time away.” He echoed, “Thank you, Charwhisper, I think I’ll do that.”

As the pale Tom padded away, a gangly white kit trotted up, a strange look on her face. She glanced up at the tortiseshell in confusion, “I didn’t think warriors were allowed to cry. I’ve never seen a warrior cry before.”

“Well that’s just silliness,” Charwhisper retorted, “All cats cry. Most warriors just don’t let kits see.”

The light molly still looked dubiously after Heraldflame as he disappeared down a tunnel, but nodded slowly in acceptance.

--Spidercrawl has been telling the new friends he has been making in ChaosClan about his sister and how they were separated when they were attacked by rogues. He also tells of Fleabite, his younger brother who was but an apprentice when the family separated. As the days go on and the rogue presence has diminished in the territory, a strange loner named Scorpion finds their way into ChaosClan. Spidercrawl's heart leaps as he realizes his littermate has found him, and they are reunited, Scorpion gaining a new identity and reintroducing what they found about themself to their brother. Scorpionsnap becomes a well-respected scout of the clan, as Spidercrawl excitedly tells his best friend Thrushdive and the two realize how much they mean to each other. Soon, Spidercrawl feels that he'll reconnect with Fleabite somehow too... he knows it.
--Astralfur is a quiet warrior. They are quick to hit it off with Bamboolight, freshly made warrior who yearns to show his new friend around the new territory, showing them his favorite spots and the prettiest sights. Astralfur, who thought they would be more scared around a clan this big, finds themself feeling like they found a home amongst cats like Bamboolight, who so easily accepted them into the clan life.
--Ferretspike and Newtgaze are still not getting into the true hustle and bustle of clan life, feeling more like outsiders and not easily making close friendships. They take solace in each other, each having joined the clan around the same time, and find that maybe each other is all they need to conquer the strange happenings of clan life. With similar backgrounds, it was hard for the two not to connect, especially as their parents in the caretaker's den started a close bond in their older age.

- Swanflight comes to the med den with Gingerspring and Waveredflame, and Ashcloud tries to apologize for not catching killing the fox, with Gingerspring rebuffs
-Swanflight is quiter than usual, and Gingerspring ask Ashcloud if he would watch her
-Icewish seems concerned
- Waveredflame flirts with Ottershine
- upon leaving, Wavered flame comments that she's not the only who seems to be eying some romance

- Bluepaw drowns, Dovewillow feels at fault

- Marigoldpaw killed by fox from earlier
-give the postmortem name Marigoldflame in honor of mother
- Duskpaw asks to bo named Duskflower to honor Marigold

- Freezeflight bonds with Duskflower over not feeling excited about being warriors after Marigold death

- Dust x Rain lose 1 kit

- Willowheart gathers people together to grieve (Hopeflame, Silkfur, Dusteye, Rainflower, Snarlpelt, Cherryblossom, Emberpaw, Glowpaw, Seapaw, Twopaw)
-Dawnrush quietly rejoins the queens because of this, with Bayleaf playing guard
- Dovewillow tries to refuse joining, but Cherryblossom insists that she is blaming herself more than anyone else would
-Minnoweyes lingers around the group, feeling regret for being a mostly absent father. Snarlpelt drags him saying that while she doesn't like him, he should take the opportunities he has left
-Several agree to go visit Swanflight later
- Elmspark tries to but in and comfort Dusteye and push out Raincloud, but Shadowsight makes him leave
- Coalbreaker drops by to give Flamehope comfort

- Snarlpelt tells Cherryblossom that while she's excited for their kits, she hates that she can't be of help
-Cherryblossm says she could takeover some duties as soon as possible

-Pearpaw goes on a med run adventure
- Tells the other two she will think about taking her assessment after they start training a new app or two

- Shadestripe vists Darkstep and tells her he may have a lead on the kits location, Darkstep relays this to the group
-Shadestripe is excited about his kits becoming apprentices, though he is saddened to still be away from the

- Orangebird meets with who remains at camp of the group, gets into an argument with Shadowsight when she says they don't have time to wait
- Sealcomet relays that Oceanlight is trying to figure out how to help her mother, and mentions that she may be a source for more allies, which convinces Shadowsight to wait

- Briarcreek and Jaggedear are excited, though also fearful for potential kits

-Windclaw taunts Tigersoul
- Spothop approaches, but refuses to help
- Sunforest, Minthym, and kinda Hareleap but in to remind Windclaw he's on thin ice

- Bluestrom continues to be jealous of Waveredflame and Windclaws constant scheming, Gingerspring tells her if she's so bothered maybe its time for her to make her move

- Though she has done it many times before, Snowbell is nervous about contacting the ancestors because of whats at stake
- Glowpelt tells her she'll do fine
-The two begin to chat and accidently get lost from the group
- They only noticed when they see Marigoldflame standing in front of them
-"Marigoldpaw?" "Glowpelt...there's only one way she'd be here"

-Swordkit and Glacekit are starting to become annoyed at the fact that Mistrise refuses to train them.)
