2022 Halloween Event - Casual Chat V.1 [read first post]

I see a lot of people saying it's the worst banner luck they have had but definitely the best luck I've ever had!

252 Banners:
Ratipede - 6
PPS rat - 1
Dragon - 3

I had so much fun this event! Now just to decide what to trade my extra tokens for

i ended at 289 banners! i was at work while rollover happened so i couldn't collect my final banner ;o;
but i got 1 of each banner pet so my odds were about a 1% for a banner pet rip

I got super lucky with the banner pets at first, got the centi-rat in my first 20 or so banners, and then got the PPS one not long after it was added. Ended up getting I think 3 of each, thought my luck would carry on and I'd get at least one dragon too, but no. c': Hit the banner limit and not a single dragon. Lady luck likes to mess with me like that I guess.

All I can say is that I hope they figure out a better system for the banner pets eventually. There are lots of players who maxed out their banners with very little to show for it, while others got an excess. You can't automatically assume the players who pulled the banner pets will actually trade them, not when the scarcity makes people so afraid to take offers.

Adding to this in a non-debate way, is there a reason for the banner limit? Like with the timer there’s still only so many banners players can get before the end of the event

not too sure if this is the correct reason for a limit, but i believe its so that people who do have more time to banner hunt don't have that much of an advantage over those who can't hunt at all times of the day

like there were times where people hit the limit like halfway thru the event and if they were still able to hunt im sure they would have over 500 banners

That's correct, it was implemented as a way to pace more active users so they don't gain too much of an advantage over other people who can't spend as much time hunting banners.

Did anyone else just have a weirdly harder time getting the many different bats than anything else? It was very refreshing and nice to see the bats getting some more love from the community ngl!

at the end of all of this, i only got 143 banners because of work, school, and personal stuff that kept me offline most of the event. but i was able to get the entire set of pets AND items, and i found myself pretty lucky to receive a few gifts from people, pull some of the full sets of free pets naturally, and trade rather easily for what i needed.

when i was having a hard time someone gifted me my first green ratipede. i ended up with three others from the banner as well as two banner PPS rats (first one i traded for then i ended up getting one naturally), but i got no banner dragon. because of my busy personal life, i ended up massively overpaying for the banner dragon in a trade, which i didn't personally mind because i didn't want the stress of knowing i wouldn't pull one, but because i spent a PPS ratipede AND 100C$ for it, i fear i messed up the economy for the dragon a bit.

that said, i still wish i had pulled one, because i love gifting people and have been trying to gift people their incomplete pets, and i would have loved to have another dragon to give someone as a very nice gift, or even do a giveaway for it to give multiple people a fair shot at it.

These seem pretty low. Especially the dragonipede. But I don't have any data from the previous Halloween events I've participated in to compare it with.

I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of token bats we got! Last year there were only 4. I really like their lineart and we pretty much only get them for Halloween.
