A campfire is set up and stumps and logs are arranged in a circle around it. Kojo is seated at one end and gestures for you to do the same. "Hello and welcome! I have all of your answers written down and tonight we will reveal what story was created. Once others have gathered around, they begin to speak:
We weren’t allowed to go in the museum and we really
didn’t want to—it was creepy and dark
and smelled like dirty laundry. But Carl pushed us to try and explore it.
The steps leading down into the museum were steep
and there was an old closet next to the
door. It felt haunted and we wanted to
turn back.
We climbed toward the museum, one
step at a time till our legs shook
uncontrollably and we were too scared to move.
There was always an eerie pencil coming up
from below the wood and we weren’t brave enough to
face it.
One day there was a banging sound. It was coming from the
museum. We wanted to know what was making the sound,
but we were afraid of what we might lose if we do find it. We crept closer
and closer, but each time the fear would squish
over us, and we would back away, terrified.
Finally, Carl decided to face the fear and go down to
the museum. When we didn't hear anything we
became encouraged and followed behind him, praying we would not be
found by whatever it was that lived down there. When we made it to the very bottom,
we stopped, arms wrapped tightly around
each other, barely breathing.
Then, we saw it. It was big and it was yelling slowly.
We moved closer, we couldn’t breathe . . .
The terrifying creature ended up being Carl
wearing a blanket over his head and making weird noises.
When we all stopped laughing and told Carl to follow us back out of the museum,
he seemed to walk unnaturally.
Closing the journal with a triumphant thud, Kojo beams, "Tada! That was a lot of fun! Thank you for all of your hard work, I thought everyone's answers were great and I look forward to seeing how next week's story turns out. Now for the moment you've been patiently waiting for, the rewards!"
