Simply nodding at her instructions, Lily sprung in to action. She headed toward the sink and let the hot water run. While the water warmed up, she grabbed two buckets and began filling them up. Before she went back out to the stalls with the full buckets, she checked to make sure the water was warm enough but not hot. Opening the stall of the Haflinger mare, Lily walked in and set the bucket on the hook. She waited for the mare to drink some before heading to the stallion's stall. She made sure they only took sips of the warmed water. Lily headed toward the grain room and started to make up a mash. She caught the hurried conversation between Kate and Margrethe.

"Don't worry about the mare. I can take care of her while you get your stuff. My mare's pregnant too but she's closer to her due date. Is there anything special I should do?"

Christian watched Margrethe hurry out the door, noticing that she had dropped the horse blankets in her rush. Scratching his head, he picked them up off the dusty floor. "Must have been something really important..." He muttered to himself. Then, louder, he called through the stables, "Lily, do you still need these blankets?"
