the corn maize maze

atop all the other festivities for the scariest of city-hosted-events, the exploration guild has planted and sown their customary corn maze (maize?) in the center of the spanning park. they only build it small, they say; and then it seems to take a life of its own. and you believe them; you can't remember the city park being this large and this maze stretches for as far as the eye can see.

dare you brave its treacherous paths in the name of adventure?

As you meander down the rows of popup vendors trying to hawk their wares-- mostly the very same weekend markets you're accustomed to (except this time with spooky decorations)-- you spot a stall that completely overshadows everything around it. So overdone with decorations to the point of overflowing into the path. A giant neon sign buzzes overhead. THE EXPLORERS GUILD HORRIBLE AWFUL DEFINITELY SCARY SHOP. Who named this...

There's a tired, way too underdressed-no-costumed beardog behind the counter that eyes you as you approach. "Hullo, m'Sailor. There's a whole spiel I'm meanta be givin' about vistin' that there corn maze the others set up first and trading your candy in here for prizes. But eh-- It's been a long day, give a bear a break," he instead slaps the sign that shows off all the prices of the items on display.
