"My father lost his first live to a bear actually. Makes my fox seem not as bad," she said with a chuckle, then she was quiet for a moment. "my daughter was the one hit hardest by it, I got bit pushing her out of the way, so she felt it was her fault. I think she still feels guilty, but I'm quite proud of her. I was told she was quick to stand her ground and protect me when I was out."

“The poor thing was terrified, I don’t think she fully recovered from the shock.” Pearpaw said shaking her head. The poor child stayed attached to her parents and siblings now, and sometimes her and Hyenafern, as the only people she trusted. Just then a voice behind her caused her to jump. “Hello!” She purred, quickly shifting her stance to show she was happy to have some conversation, she need to clear her mind of trouble anyways “I’m Shadowsight of Auroraclan! How had the gathering been treating you?” She asked with a tilt of the head.

"We sometimes hold competitions," added Troutpaw. "Well, we kinda do them all the time but a lot of greenleaf competitions are about swimming and fishing 'cause the River is free-running and there's little danger of flooding."

I have a mate now, and she's just the delight of my life and wonderful with the kits, but she had not even joined us when they were born. I do almost wish another queen had been able to take them, I love them so much but I worry so much they'll grow up in Indigokit's shadow, since he has the blessing of Starclan. I make sure to set aside time just to see each of them, to ensure that they don't feel left out. I would never want to do that to any of my kits, biological to not."

I had to inform Petalstar of the change, just so it was documented, but..." he paused again, taking a deep breath, "The Molly passed away before I could give them the good news. He hasn't really been the same since." He shook himself a little, trying to shake away the shattered, wailing face of the younger tom, answering Freuxfreckle's final question, "Oh, yes I do keep up with them. That's actually why I switched the tom, the molly's friend group seemed very rambunctious, and he was much quieter in temperament. But I will admit that was a blunder on my behalf. It's definitely encouraged me to conduct interviews before requesting a switch in the future, it was arrogant of me to not do so before."

We’ve managed to survive in this harsh environment, and I hope we can for many more moons.” He stopped for a moment before continuing, “And Seaclan lives near a sea, I presume?”

"Having them made it bearable, but it was still a terrible feeling to leave all I have ever known behind. I hear of so many Clans disbanding; we actually have a lot of cats in ChessClan who took refuge there after being left with nowhere to go. It's great that most Clans are so accepting of those who are desperately looking for a new home," she meowed gently, remembering how many cats had appeared on their borders and begged for sanctuary. She had been in their paws once, and she would never turn one away. Even if ChessClan had nearly swelled past its borders, their hospitality towards those who needed it was unmatched. "Has PinyonClan had any cats like that? I know you're quite new, but sometimes they find the tiniest of Clans in the hopes it will stay together for longer," she meowed curiously. She remembered the stories of how Rookstar, Richterstar, Juncoflight, Sweethen, and Loonfrost had joined in ChessClan's first moon after their former Clan, JaggedClan, had fallen apart. That story was a strange one, but she knew each of those cats had been proud of their former home.

Wolfchill nearly got a headache at the thought of even remotely touching ChessClan's convoluted history with a stick. "Well, any cat who wanders through our mountains will inevitably show up in our valley. "My own kits, Lupinekit and Moonkit, just recently joined the nursery after being dropped off by a cat named Gena. It's a very rare day indeed where a kitting goes wrong," she meowed, suddenly glad for the safety offered by her Clan. It was something she hadn't realized she relied on so desperately until she was a mother and constantly looking for danger to protect her kits from. "Lupinekit and Moonkit are absolutely precious, and I can't wait to bring them to their first Gathering one day. Maybe you'll even be here," she chuckled, half-joking at the fact that it was highly unlikely.

Freuxfreckle reached out with his tail in a comforting gesture as Lievreshell spoke of a quite negative moment in CavernClan's short history. His sympathy was without restraints, always able to remember the agonizing pain of watching Rookstar sacrifice himself to stop Chasmstar's war. After seeing the young molly off, she turned and bedded down. Her old joints ached so much that she was willing to wait for some cat to approach her.

I didn't make it anywhere near because my mentor was waiting for me outside the camp. It's one of the biggest rules we have," she meowed.

Either that, or they find such joy in seeing the living cats floundering towards inevitable doom that they only step in with serious help at the last possible second," he grumbled, his voice taking a darker turn as his heart tightened in his chest.

Minnow's Mumble groaned, not wanting to explain the deep history of the savanna. "There were once five orders, each named after an animal on the savanna. We're the only one left," he meowed, omitting the bloody war that had resulted in their triumphant ruling of the land. It was a dark history, and one he didn't quite like, but he had to know regardless. It had revolted him when he first joined the Clan, but he had grown used to the rather unique ways in which the Order of the Hyena conducted itself. Besides stealing prey, they had a no-questions policy when it came to strangers in their territory. If they even looked like they posed a threat, they were to be intimidated until they left.

I hope you and your daughter are doing well.” Hollystar mewed, “My daughter actually just had her first litter of kits, and I know she would fight hordes of bears to protect her kits, and so would her mate.” She expressed proudly. “I’m gonna be honest, I can’t believe I’m a grandmother. It feels like I just had my first litter.”

It can be a bit difficult to get to know all the cats, but our kits usually meet a few new cats everyday, so by the time they are apprenticed, they know most of their clanmates. Older new cats have a bit of a harder time, but they manage.” He mewed.

For me at least, it wasn't. You can easily find a small group of cats you fit in with and enjoy time with. That's how I found my group of friends." she purred. "I remember stories of when Tundraclan only had twenty or so cats. That's hard to believe now!" Teddybear mused.

He had short legs, so they could easily climb on him and ask for badger rides.” He rumbled with laughter, “He’s passed now, but the clan makes sure to honor his memory, as we do with every fallen cat.” He cleared his throat before continuing onto a lighter topic, “Yeah, the tundra is freezing! I’m lucky because of my thick, fluffy fur, but our shorthaired cats aren’t lucky. We usually huddle up next to them to make sure they get enough warmth, and we construct blankets out of moss for them. We’ve managed to survive in this harsh environment, and I hope we can for many more moons.” He stopped for a moment before continuing, “And Seaclan lives near a sea, I presume?”

Is it cold?” Sootblotch asked, never hearing of a clan that lived in burrows before. They shivered. They couldn’t imagine being in such a closed spaces, not even being able to turn around.
