If you would like a hint for the first one, I can say this: the adolescent growth is merely the very boring, very basic female version of this bird type! Maybe it will get brighter with age~
!!!!I dont know much about birds but that sounds like a duck! Maybe!

The frail little heart became a deep, black void, its aching beats crushed by overwhelming sorrow.
Each struggle proved useless. Each scrap of hope smothered into dust.
All but strangled by the voracious tendrils of darkness.
Like an infection, they spread and tarnished body and mind.
Sometimes painful, sometimes numb... sometimes outright miserable.
A smile would stubbornly shine through, yet it felt false. Empty.
Little more than a mask of emotions no longer there.
This is beautifully sad <3
The design is very reminiscent of dark heart muscle, a perfect choice for this narrative <3

I can't believe I actually managed to get them right!
With that hint, maybe the other one is a peahen?

The babies are brownish tan, and the females look like they get a bit of neck color when they get older... I'm sure there are plenty of other birds who do the same, peahens are just the one I can think of off the top of my head because they are basically the poster child for the less showy female versions

I only started thinking about looking into the female patterns because some popped up in my initial search for red avadavat and it got me thinking about how many birds must have colors that no one really thinks about because they aren't the showy ones.
I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the growths!
