The two Unspoken laid facing away from one another, a cold razor between them. The fears within the camp seemed to stop at the door of the thickly padded den. Without a word, Sunny Days stood and stepped into the milky light of day. Her new apprentice was lurking with the other across the clearing. Esper watched his elaborate story, his balancing on his good leg, his mimicking of bats. Distantly, her eyes remained on the two. Sunny Days' pelt turned to thorns at the thought of mentoring the molly. All she could see was a child, like the ones festering inside of her, the pollutant kittens with their pathetic pollutant father's blood. She looked to her shadow remaining beside her with its crisp black outline.
"Would it be more difficult to ditch her, train her, or complain to the Hither?"
It didn't move, didn't say a word like she hoped. Was it listening? Or was it dead? She wasn't sure if she believed the others, but it didn't matter. Whether or not their shadows were some kind of creatures mattered not to her. She was confident in her combat skills if they ever did attack her, even while pregnant.
Dandelion stepped out of the den and the two stared at one another for a long while before she silently padded off to the warm patch of old sidewalk just inside the camp borders.
"Tch, what a mousy molly. I wish we didn't share a den but I suppose that's what happens when no one likes you. You end up stuck with someone, and that someone is unfortunately me." The orange cat wonders if her shadow's shoulders jostled, like a laugh, or if she was imagining it. Who knew?
Esper finally broke off from Batsy when he was stolen by his own mentor, but before her apprentice could catch up to her, Sunny Days turned tail and left the camp for the forest.
