Cats of the Meadow (WC rp started)

"You mean a two-leg," *Droopingrose murmurs, but she says nothing until the raging river is gone from sight, and they're walking in the meadows. She drops the kit at her feet* "If you'd like, I can call you mossy. or... I could rename you."

She doesn't know, really, what a two-leg is... but the humans do have two legs only! And... well, two short legs they used... "yes, a two-leg." Is said at last. About the time that the kit has deduced and agreed with this she is dropped!

Moss wails in pain as soon as she touches ground so unexpectedly, eyes immediately squeezing shut as it wracks through her form. Blood oozes from her front paws, despite the mud. It takes a moment for the tiny kit to get control of herself and go from crying out to just sniffles. Mama got mad when she'd cry loud! This cat must too. Crying loud brings the bad humans, the mean one. She sniffles again, with a small hiccup, tears again run down her cheeks, but she's busy timidly licking at her paws.

Another few seconds pass and she is cringed into herself, "Wh-what w-would you n-name m-me?" Is asked quietly, head bowed as she waits to be reprimanded or punished for being so loud. Or was it for asking so many questions? Moss doesn't know, but she's sure she's in trouble. She sniffles again, ears almost flat to her head.

~ Droopingrose ~

*Droopingrose is surprised by the wails and gently lays the kit down to avoid the usage of her paws. She began to study her surroundings before seeing a clump of marigold in the meadow. She grabs it and makes it into a polituce before adding it onto the kit's bloody paws* "There there, little one. This will help with the infection." *Droopingrose soothed, cleaning the now-dry mud off the kit. She'd have to get to the medicine cat quickly for the kit to survive* "I'd name you... Strident. I think the name suits you." *Without another word, Droopingrose picked up the kit and raced towards the camp, smoothly she slides into camp, but she crashes into Petal's side* "Help," *She wailed softly, sitting up, she looked a tad bit exhausted; but determined*

(Btw, all the names I give have hidden meanings. I don't know if you'd like this one, but I think Droopingrose noticed how you tried to shut up so quickly. Google search the meaning of Strident)

Infection? What's an Infection? She just hurts! The kit sniffles softly again, not entirely sure why she's been rolled onto her side, but she doesn't move. She doesn't want to make this cat angry at her! Well, angrier. And she is, isn't she?

Moss swallows - and bites her tongue at the sting of the marigold. Is it supposed to hurt too? Even with this cat offering soothing words? She's abruptly picked up, and this cat is running again. Moss barely has time to think, with the burn of the marigold poultice and the dropping onto her paws - it's all quite a bit for the tiny kit who is newly out in the world.

"What does that mean?" She whispers, sure that DroopingRose hears her query. "Strident." The word is tried out carefully, "i..I... i think I like Moss. Please. "

Sunstar nodded. She felt better about today that she had just an hour ago. Until one of her warriors rushed into camp with a kit they'd found. "Oh no-" the big golden she-cat ran over to where the medicine cat and a couple of her warriors were taking care of the kit.

The medicine cat was practically finished when Droppingrose bounded into her with a kit. As she turned her attention to the poor baby, blocking out sound around her, going into deep concentration in her job, she could hear cats gather around

Autumnleaves glanced up from her meal as Scorchfrost approached, eyeing the tom cat warily. She swallowed the piece of prey that was in her mouth, shrugging her shoulders as he asked to join her. "If you want to that's fine with me." The she-cat mumbled, digging back into her meal She wasn't quite sure what he might want, or why he'd want to be in her company when there were clearly other cats about that he probably would have a more enjoyable time talking to. Before she could speak again, the commotion in camp started. She perked her ears, watching as a small kit was brought in. "What's that about. . .?"

Eeriepaw shook out her pelt again, glancing around the forest before continuing forward. She didn't bother glancing behind her to see if Strawberrypaw was following, she honestly didn't care much if he was or wasn't, all that mattered to the black apprentice was that she was once again out of camp on her own, which allowed her to do as she pleased. She stopped at the base of a tree, glancing up it before scrambling up to one of the lower branches, looking down on Strawberrypaw. "How's the view down there?" Eeriepaw sneered, letting out a snicker.

Hollytangle got up to follow Sunstar, only to stop when Droopingrose walked into camp with a kit. He blinked a few times, but didn't move from where he was. He wasn't needed in this situation, and felt it best if he stayed away, especially since Fallenrains seemed to have comforted Sunstar more than he had. The black tom shook his head, heading towards the entrance of camp, readying himself to leave for a little while.

Carefully situating himself next to the she-cat, he laid down, making sure to put a little distance between, in an effort to not crowd her. His amber gaze followed hers as she spoke, his ears perking up in interest as the kits strange kit wafted into his nose. Smokefrost grimaced then hummed, "I'm not quite sure, but I suppose Sunstar and the others can handle it." The tom watched curiously for a few more moments before turning his attention back to Autumnleaves. "I wouldn't worry too much about it." He assured softly, in his normal gruff tone.

A soft worrying sound, then after a glance at her brother - who gave her a knowing glare - sighed and relaxed. She shook her head and tried to ignore the incident in camp. Breathing out a soft breath she turned her attention to Sparkflare. "So, where were you this morning?" She asked with a stern and motherly tone, giving the tom a maternal glare. She had to fight to keep the grin off her face as he groaned.

indentationWatching mournfully as Softpetal left, the tabby internally sighed. Mentally shaking his head, the tabby turned his attention to his sister forcing a smile. He opened his jaw to speak - to ask her how she was going outside her pregnancy among other things - but frowned and followed her gaze. Huffing softly he made a chastizing sound and gave her a glare, already seeing her plans to try and go comfort the stinky little kittypet. Vile little creature doesn't belong here. Hopefully, Sunstar kicks it out soon. He grumbled internally with a withering glare in the kit's direction. At his sister's question, he turned his attention back to her and flushed. "I went out hunting, to get my mind off things." He muttered, refusing to look over at the gathering cats around the kittypet.

"Have you eaten?" Is asked quietly around fur, he's standing beside HollyTangle - a chipmunk hanging from his jaws. Blue eyes are wide and uncertain; not sure he fits in. "I have this chipmunk, and the clans been fed. So... are you hungry HollyTangle?" Asks the silver cat, one ear flicked back to listen about the kit. He's always had a soft spot for kits.

The warrior is waiting for IcePaw to rejoin him, but there is no reason for him to not talk with another. Especially since he hasn't made any friends..

She has never seen so many cats! Wide heterochromia eyes stare as she tries to take everything and everyone in - tear tracks down her face that are drying (though she's certain to cry again.) "You're all so pretty, like the flowers and the stars. " says the kit, her voice cracked and filled with awe.

Then she's tipped over and some cat is inspecting her paws and it sort of hurts - but they aren't talking to her. Noone is. Is she in trouble again? "I'll be good. Mama says be good. I can be good. Mama said I'm a good kitten and - " she chatters without direction, whimpering softly (biting her cheek) to try to hide her pain. Though her eyes well with tears she doesn't cry out again.

*Droopingrose smiles sweetly at the kit and gives her a quick lick on a tuft of fur that was sticking up* "I bet you are hungry," *Droopingrose murmured, before standing up to grab a crow from the fishkill pile* "Here, eat this."
