colorful quartz chips

Chips of what seems to be quartz fragments, fragments of fragments essentially. Unfortunately they can’t be used to buy anything.
And yet, these fragments aren’t purple like they often are; they’re red, blue, and green. They emit an unusual aura.
It's probably best these aren't usable to buy anything anyways.

log1. The moment Oscar put the chips down on his desk, one of them, the red chip, oddly started to levitate in the air. He raised an eyebrow and started to tap and paw at the floating chip. It bounced under his paw yet readjusted itself again and again like a ball that didn't ever want to land. A dim glow emitted from the chip each tap.
Oscar got an idea.

log2. He tossed the red chip down onto the ground with as much force as he could’ve mustered. He was half-expecting the fragile thing to break but what really happened was that it kept its shape, but fire shot right out of it. It bounced off of Oscar’s fish glass tank, then on a wall, and straight into one of his plants, a cactus, burning it up into a crisp almost instantly.
Oscar yelped in surprise, pouncing right onto the now remains of the little desert plant. He patted out any loose active embers and reminiscing at the pile of soot.

log3. "Huh?—!" Yelled Astria, "Oscar what’s wrong I heard you screaming from the other room and—"
She dashed over into Oscar’s room, peaking behind one of the paper sliding doors. What she saw was a devastated cat sobbing over a burnt shrub, leftover soot, and what appeared to be the remnants of a scarlet-red crystal (which had shattered on impact the moment the fire blast shot out).
