You make an excellent point that I had forgotten about.
Trades rotting. I’m sorry, I know other users are busy, but if they are online, what is the point of letting a trade sit for days? I just don’t understand that. If they are bumping their trading thread once every half an hour, then they should be able to respond to a trade. I find it very rude. I ALWAYS respond to trades promptly, because I hate keeping others waiting no matter the outcome.

This. We, as an audience, love this site and would love to see some BIG improvements
sometimes discussing about improvements is healthy as even some ideas can come to fruition and make it THAT much better for all involved

Yeah! A lot of times during discussion (not about cs, just other groups ive been in through life) everyone in the group will end up doing nothing but stewing in negative emotions and venting eachother. That's usually healthy and fine, but i'm more excited to see how much people are already coming up with doing.
I mean, this thread hasn't been up very long and we've already come up with plenty of plausible ideas. from encouraging users to be more supportive of eachother to more minigames and even daily logins (i really liked the idea of a specific currency for daily logins, and items that can be bought with it), having to do 'quests' to adopt pets in the pound and all other incredible ideas.
I also think it'd be fun to have more discussion on what individual players/smaller groups could do to help. Clubs dedicated to teaching new players how to play, brainstorming on forum games we could make that are more interactive, ect. It takes a lot more upkeep but things like the gachapon adoption centre that pops up once in a while, or making a choice based mini-game via the forums.

So here's my take as someone who's been around for an absurdly long time, gone for forever and a day, and recently come back.
1:: Yes. The forum is quieter. However, I don't necessarily think that in and of itself is the point that makes the argument of 'dead site'. Forums as a whole are much less popular than they were back in the day and as others have discussed, I do believe in the notion that things have moved to Discord and other platforms.
2:: What does mark this starting to go down hill is sheer user count. Back when I was originally playing, the online list was massive. I wouldn't go to the trading forums to trade. I'd head down to the online user list, select someone at random, and boom, new trading partner. Rinse and repeat. Hardly got the same person twice in one night during normal peak hours. Now? Not so much.
3:: Nothing has changed. And I mean that pretty literally. Mechanically, not a darn thing has changed around here and that is both a blessing and a curse. I was able to walk in after 8 years of being away, and nothing aside from learning new worths and a few new user made acronyms was different. After 14 years... that's bound to breed stagnation.
This all goes with one thing in mind.
Adoptable sites are not nearly as popular as they once were, and that's something to keep in mind. Other places like MagiStream, GPX, Lioden, etc etc are also facing downward turns in userbase. What makes things different is those that evolve with time and take these issues seriously.

I'll be honest, I do this sometimes ^^; I'll look at a trade and maybe want to think about it or have to do something else and then forget about it. A seperate trades pending notification next to the trades link or something would be a big help, especially when people aren't comfortable reminding me (which I get)

I mean, I just started replaying after 2-3 years of inactivity, and honestly the general scene on here now feels so much more distant and generally unfriendly. I think trading is one of the biggest problems, since with every year older pets become more and more valuable and almost impossibly out of reach of newer players. And because of that huge gap nobody is willing at all anymore to trade down rares or even uncommons because they need to have them if they want at all to be able to grasp older more valuable pets. it feels so much more hostile now, nobody is willing to share because sharing now is so counter to being able to obtain anything of value.
And even I've started falling into the same mindset, it's so difficult to even know what to do with my older pets because some part of me is unwilling to give them up for newer 'less valuable' pets because it feels like im loosing out on other opportunities.

Gregory<3 wrote:(i am not quitting I am just a little sad with the encounters i have had the past year) I am one of the people to think about quitting due to being too scared to trade people on here people are so rude and entitled to what they know about rares and the game and how dumb and "unfair" the trade is when I send a message along the lines of "hi I am looking to trade if you're not happy with this feel free to edit ^^ " and I get people not leave a message and just canceling when its say some like "don't be afraid to send a trade if you want anying <3 I am so nice. something about always leaving a nice message" to low key calling me dumb because I don't really understand list and item worth. and also, people scamming me of lists and all that

so idk I love this game but people man... why are they so much meaner now (sorry about the bad grammar and spelling ;-; i am dyslexic)
I wish I knew why people feel the need to treat others that way. And over a game, with pixelated pets. I don’t mind a simple ‘no thank you’ or ‘I prefer my pet.’ I do understand those remarks. But canceling with no message, or cancelling with a rude remark should be considered bullying, which would be against site rules. I’m not sure why it’s still happening so often, especially to new players.
I’d like to make it known to all that you can trade me any time and I will always respond politely and with kindness, whether I accept the trade or not. Kindness goes a long way, and there are people on here that are unable to handle that sort of behavior. I don’t know, would it kill to be a little more empathetic?

This makes me really sad. I just joined this site, and just thought it was a relatively small site to begin with. I think the staff could reward ppl with a referral system (like a few c$ for both ppl) or something that might help a little. Otherwise, this also means rarities are going up. Is this a good or bad thing?

Agreed, the bullying needs to be addressed. I also didn’t realize how many people it’s affecting, and it could be a lot of the reason why people are leaving the site or giving up on their collections.
