      hellos,!

      i was curious if anyone had an input on victor dog food and their different options,? i recently got victor - multi pro, to switch my dogs on, slowly of course,! i avoided the high pro as it came off, to me, as a blend for higher drive dogs,, trying to give my dogs better food but on a tight budget, D;

      thank you for the input, < 3

I personally loved having my field-line Lab on High-Pro Plus! She did amazing on it and the only reason I switched food was because of auto shipping on Chewy lol. I love Victor and recommend it to anyone on a tight budget that wants to feed their dog a decent kibble.

My parents dog will not eat any dog food, dry or wet, tried it all. He only wants cat food/human food/raw meat before it’s cooked (which the last one is I heard okay) but what gives??? He used to eat purina pro plan or taste of the wild and now… nothing… we leave it out for days and he just won’t touch it..

If you're constantly switching food because he won't eat he's taught you to switch food. Put food down, give him 10 minutes to eat, pick it up. Always do that, don't switch food. Dogs won't starve themselves.

I don’t live there and he’s been on PPP for the past year now I’d say, and he just won’t. We’ve tried everything, brought trainers opinions is and… nothing.. vet opinions, nothing. It’s frustrating. I honestly just give him raw now because it’s all he’ll touch besides cat food.. ;-;

As I said, them giving in and giving him what he wants is the reason he's doing it. Unless they're strict and refuse to switch the food he's always going to be picky. No dog and I mean no dog, will starve themselves to death unless they're actually ill. He WILL, saying "he just won't" and giving in, is why hes doing it. Dogs aren't stupid.

I can’t change my parents minds, he’s not my dog…. I’ve tried but they won’t listen so I gave up trying to talk to them about it. They say “worry about your own dogs not mine”

It's official, I'm getting a puppy! She's a blue merle Australian shepherd. I put my deposit down today and it finally feels real. My dog passed away a few years ago (she was also a herding dog) and it's been lonely not hearing paws running down the hallway all the time. An Aussie felt like the perfect choice - I wanted a medium-sized dog that could be relatively active, but can also appreciate an evening of TV and cuddles. I may even get into agility training if it feels right for her.

I've been reading the past few pages and I'm definitely going to look into Victor food. The big three I've been hearing about have been Purina Pro Plan, Hill’s Science Diet and Royal Canin. My cat eats prescription Royal Canin and I know it's a reputable brand, but it's a hefty price point so I'm open to other options.

Well if they are going to be feeding their dog raw, I hope they ensure he gets a proper balanced raw diet. If they do not balance it properly and ensure he gets all the nutrients he needs, then he could become ill. :(

I know but there’s nothing I can do 😭

Our two (lab golden possibility more mix and beagle (possibly heeler mix) get one scoop of PPP, a small portion of raw and a egg and we mix it together. <3
