xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx━━ [Appearance] ━━
"Shorthaired, solid black tom with pale golden eyes and a white spot on his chest."
Like a dark night, Antgleam's black coat glows with three stars: one white spot on his chest and two bright spots for his eyes. While he was the smaller of his litter, the tom has grown into a slightly below average sized cat. His slender frame belies his muscular hind legs. He is a fantastic jumper and climber, as if always aiming skyward. Though it appears smooth and sleek from a distance, his pelt is riddled with old scars from his warrior training. He has enough combat experience to fend for himself, but he refuses to hurt another.
━━ [Basic Personality] ━━
(+) jolly, confident, affable, compassionate
(n) ambitious, loves community, energetic
(-) dishonest, hotheaded, uncertain, conflicted
━━ [Personality] ━━
Far from ant-like in his behavior, Antgleam acts larger than life. He’ll talk with anyone like they’ve been best buddies for years, no matter how cold or cranky the cat. He moves with the easy-- but not overbearing-- confidence of a cat who knows his place and thrives in it. He brings warmth and laughter to those around him, easing their pain that he knows too well. He has gotten so used to lying to hide his own pain, lying about his opinions to support his clanmates', that he can lie to himself and believe he's truly happy like this. He lets himself mirror the stars rather than show anything of his own. While he struggles to accept that he'll always be the supporting player in someone else's story, Antgleam will shut himself away to bring them joy.
━━ [History] ━━
Antgleam was a dreamer. Since kithood, he never stopped looking up. He wanted to climb the tallest trees, fight the toughest battles, become the greatest of the great. Enticed by the high-ranking position of medicine cat apprentice, Antkit lied about having prophetic dreams. The medicine cat saw right through his lies and sent him off to be a warrior apprentice. Antpaw excelled in battle strategy, soaring through his apprenticeship. By his side the entire time was his best friend Fadingpaw. No other cat could brighten his day more (and keep him out of trouble). Antgleam couldn't have been prouder to receive his warrior name with Fadingwind.
But the new warrior had a sudden change of heart after losing his mentor Cedarspring in a large attack on Marshclan. He had been so excited to finally fight alongside Cedarspring as a full-fledged warrior, only to watch his mentor waste away afterwards from a wound that refused to heal. He visited the medicine den every day for the next moon, offering what little help he could to his dying mentor and his other injured clanmates in the den. Their pain truly resonated with him for the first time. Though they won the battle, they lost their heroes. Rather than return to his warrior duties, Antgleam decided to stay with the medicine cat. He couldn't bear to fight. Brushpoppy recognized his sincerity this time and trained him well. She passed about 6 moons ago from old age.
Since then, Antgleam has been struggling to deal with his duties without her guidance. He carries every death like a mark on his soul. Perhaps he obeyed his ancestors so closely because he felt indebted to the cats he couldn't save from joining their starry ranks. But prophecies and the warrior code are just dead cats' words, why should they guide his paws? Antgleam keeps such traitorous thoughts to himself. He is terrified of straying from his path, losing his worth to his clan, turning away from the stars. Maybe in his dreams, he can create star-crossed stories of his own.
Important Relations:
- Fadingwind is his close friend and forbidden crush, though he hasn't realized the latter yet. No other cat can heal the hurt in his heart, no other cat occupies more space in his thoughts.
- Pebblepaw is his apprentice. Antgleam appointed him at a time of great hurt for him, and he stills sees Pebble as his rock to this day. But he hopes to push Pebblepaw to take his training and duties into his own paws, rather than choosing to play around with Irispaw all day.
- Irispaw could have been his apprentice, but Antgleam chose Pebblepaw before she turned six moons. Antgleam regrets not allowing the little molly to follow her dreams. He indulges her a little by letting her help out in the medicine and spend time with Pebblepaw.
- Kiteswoop is his good friend. He first met the cat at the border, back when Kiteswoop was still a MarshClan warrior and Antgleam was still a HawkClan warrior apprentice. After a terrific fight, both cats emerged with a deep respect for each other. Kiteswoop is one of the few cats Antgleam tells his secret beliefs--- on the meaninglessness of clan divides.
- In his last battle as a warrior, Antgleam attacked Tigerheart, then Tigerpaw, and gave him the scars on his flank and ear. As Antgleam watched the suffering of his mentor and clanmates, he came to regret the suffering he inflicted on Tigerpaw. He never saw the cat again. He feared for the worst, that he had killed him. However, Tigerheart survived, and with a vengeance. Now he has attacked (and killed) the HawkClan apprentices, just as Antgleam had attacked him moons ago. Antgleam wishes he could reach out and heal those old wounds, at least apologize, but undoubtedly Tigerheart will take revenge on his old enemy.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx━━ [Appearance] ━━
"Large, long-haired, cream-colored tom with clay eyes and a muscular build."
Much like a mountain of sandstone, Wortpaw stands with a powerful presence. His formidable fluff makes him appear larger than he truly is, but under all that hair is a bulky body to match. The tom has a heavyset, muscular build. This allows him to deal devastating blows in battle. Where he lacks in agility, he makes up for in a determination to protect. Wortpaw has the stamina and strength to take on the brunt of others' attacks so that his clanmates can stay safe. His skills allow him to bring down larger prey, though he struggles to catch speedier prey like birds and rabbits. His thick fur weighs him down in the water. Wortpaw may just be an apprentice, but he's a force growing stronger by the day.
━━ [Basic Personality] ━━
(+) protective, adamant, dependable, calm, loyal
(n) serious, obedient, simple
(-) reticent, manipulable, dense, fears being worthless
━━ [Personality] ━━
Wortpaw was named after a ragwort plant that his parents saw growing tenaciously on stone. The name was a reminder to remain humble, steadfast, and true to his roots. Wortpaw took these lessons to heart. He doesn't particularly care that his name sounds like warts, or that ragwort plants taste foul. He is an incredibly thick-skinned young cat. Some say he lacks initiative and imagination, as he follows orders without question. Wortpaw has an unshakeable loyalty to his clan and leader, stopping at nothing to keep them safe and do his duty. If you send him on a wild goose chase, he will come back with a goose. The tom is usually the last to get a joke or an idiom. Wortpaw talks little, seeming more stone than cat. Not because he holds himself back, but because he genuinely has nothing to say. The warmth in his heart comes out in his actions. He is a silent protector, a stalwart guardian.
━━ [History] ━━
Wortkit came from a long line of pious, devoted cats who put their faith in Starclan. His grandparents saw Hawkslash as the true leader chosen by prophecy, pledging their allegiance to him as Lakeclan split. Wortkit grew up with these same beliefs. Not even a moon after he was apprenticed, Marshclan attacked in the fatal border dispute that claimed three apprentices' lives. Still a new apprentice, Wortpaw had no battle training at the time. His mentor ordered him to run back to camp and get help, but he couldn't make himself move. He stood, frozen in fear, as his clanmates moved in to protect him. His presence had been a burden to them. As he finally took up the courage to run, he would never forget the courage and terror he saw on their faces. That was the last time he saw Vinepaw, Dovepaw, and Beepaw alive. Wortpaw was shattered. He retreated into a stony shell, burying himself in his training. He would never disobey an order again, no matter what he felt. Wortpaw vowed that next time, he would stand his ground and fight.
Important Relations:
- Pebblepaw is his brother. Though they're very different, Wortpaw does his best to keep him safe.
- Sealsmog is his mentor. Her tough but nurturing guidance has helped him grow into a formidable future warrior. He stiffly follows her every order, but she will train him into a cat who can think on his feet.
- Lynxpaw is his good friend! He's happy to let Lynxpaw talk at him for hours, even if he's not much of a talker himself. Lynxpaw's cheeriness would make his day brighter. Wortpaw might not notice when Lynxpaw is masking his pain, but he will do his best to protect his friend from physical violence.
- Wortpaw witnessed Tigerheart ruthlessly attacking his patrol five moons ago. He hates that he could never see his fellow apprentices again. He hates that he couldn't lift a paw to save them. He hates Tigerheart. No other cat can make this normally calm apprentice shake with rage.
