Name: Nikolai Hale

Appearance: Nikolai has black hair that is longer on top and short on the sides, and is soft, usually brushed back. His eyes are light blue in colour, and have a slightly prominent look to them. He stands at about 5'10'', though it's not always easy to tell, given he's in a wheelchair, and he has an athletic build with excellent upper body strength. He has a diamond face shape, with a narrower forehead and chin, and well-set, defined cheekbones. He has a fair skin tone, and no noticeable scars or markings, aside from a few scars at the bottom of his spine.

Personality: Nikolai is fairly cold towards other people, especially if he doesn't trust them. Even those he does trust, he's still fairly withdrawn - it's just in his nature. He's not shy by any means, as he doesn't have any trouble with talking to people (even if it's not exactly friendly), he's just more withdrawn is all. If someone irritates him, though, then he's certainly not afraid to put them in their place and stand up for himself. He is also a patient and honest person, and while they're both usually positive traits, his patience is to the point that he can sit waiting quietly for a long time before someone notices him, which tends to scare people, and his honesty is perhaps too honest, as he doesn't like to sugarcoat the truth, even if it is harsh. However, he does have a warmer side to himself, particularly with those that he ends up actually trusting and getting along with - he turns out to be much friendlier, even if he's still sometimes cold and withdrawn, but is noticeably less so than usual - and shows himself to also be very loyal and trustworthy.
Likes: Writing music, sea salt caramel, mythology (especially Norse), stargazing, reptiles.
Dislikes: Meat (he's vegetarian), the cold, being center of attention, whenever someone touches his wheelchair or tries to 'help' him when he doesn't need it/didn't ask.

History: Nikolai was born in Bulgaria, to a somewhat rich family. He grew up well, popular and with a lot of friends, as well as being close with his twin sister, Lyra. However, a few years after the family moved to the USA, when Nikolai and Lyra were 12, the family were involved in an awful car crash while on the way to pick up Lyra from an after-school club. Both of his parents died, and Nikolai was mostly paralysed from the waist down. As a result, Nikolai and Lyra were placed in care, and Nikolai has also been in a wheelchair since he got out of hospital, after the car crash. Previous foster homes ended up rejecting him after a few months, considering him to be too difficult or not being able to accommodate him, and Lyra vehemently refusing to be separated from her brother. So far, with New Hope, things seem to be finally taking a positive turn for the pair, and the two have been there for two years.
Despite being in a wheelchair, he's still very much capable of doing most things. He can sort of stand up, but only if he's leaning on something, and even then he's incredibly shaky and can't do it for more than a couple of minutes.

She stands at 5'8'', and holds herself with a decent posture, and she has an athletic build, with a fair bit of muscle. She has a diamond face shape, with a narrower forehead and chin, and well-set, defined cheekbones - very similar to her twin brother. She also has a fair skin tone, and she has a small, splodgy-shaped birthmark on her left shoulder.

Personality: Lyra is a warm, friendly presence in the home. She's confident, outgoing and usually willing to talk to anyone that is receptive to a conversation from her. Unlike her brother, Lyra is more trusting of other people and willing to be around them, but don't take that to mean she's naive or anything like that. She can sometimes seem a little stuck-up and vain, because she does have a tendency to take a lot of pride in her appearance, but she isn't completely self-absorbed and doesn't mind getting a little dirty if needed. While she's normally warm and friendly, she's also very protective, especially over her brother Nikolai, and she will very quickly turn cold and sharp if she perceives any sort of threat or rudeness towards him - or, really, anyone that she's close to. She can also be quite impulsive, acting first and thinking through it later, which is something that she's trying to work on, but if something particularly riles her up, then she'll act impulsively. Overall, though, Lyra is very trustworthy and loyal as well, and will always be willing to bat for you if you're close with her.

Gender: Nonbinary (They/Them/Theirs)
Appearance: Morgan has curly, very dark hair, with a white streak at the front, that normally reaches just below their shoulders, and they usually have tied up into space buns to keep out of the way. Their eyes are very dark brown, almost black, and have a slight almond shape to them. They stand at about 5'5", and have a fairly athletic, though lithe, build. They have an oval-type face shape, their features balanced and having high cheekbones and narrower chin. They have a mostly medium-dark skin tone, though as they have vitiligo, they have several lighter patches across their body and face.

Personality: Morgan has a warm, friendly personality towards most other people, and is usually more than happy to help someone else out. They like to be useful, and feels as though they have to be helpful in order to be liked and wanted around. However, they are also fairly no-nonsense and has a tendency to adhere quite strictly to any rules or guidelines that are given to them - and will often attempt to ensure other people do the same as well, being the first to mention to the rule-breaker that a rule is being broken, usually in a friendly way to start with. Morgan is also very patient, and will sit and listen to someone vent or ramble excitedly for hours, and they will offer some advice if wanted. They can get quickly sharp towards those that are being deliberately ignorant or are threatening those they're close to. They also don't tend to 'loosen up' and have fun in the way that most other people do, preferring to do their own thing or keep an eye out to make sure the others are okay. On the off-chance that they do 'loosen-up', they will make a schedule and extensively plan it.

History: Morgan grew up in the East of England, only moving to the US at the age of 7, when their parents got a good job opportunity for the company they work for. Morgan took an interest in medicine at around the age of 13, and eventually decided to make it something that they wanted to study. At least, they thought they did. They got into medical school, but chose to drop out after a year, as they realised it was not something they wanted to do as a career after all. Instead, they transferred to another university to try and study a variety of things to try and figure out what it is they actually want to do, eventually choosing to double major in social science and catering. After graduating, they weren't too sure what to do next, but was soon hired to work in a foster home, New Hope, to help with a large family of adopted kids. They have been working there about a year so far.

he's on the main floor, so there are no stairs for him
