martenfang
she-cat | 41 moons | deputy
location: camp | tags: doeprance, echostar, tigerfin, nightwhisper
martenfang could sense that doeprance was feeling a tad shy and inwardly hoped she hadn't come in too hot. as friendly of a cat as the deputy was, that friendliness could be easily read as just being overbearing by a more introverted cat... and the last thing she wanted was to make any of her clanmates uncomfortable in her presence!
the older she-cat subsequently opted to soften her tone in her response. "that's great to hear." she then smiled again with a subtly cordial flick of her bobtail. "don't work yourself too hard, though. i'll keep you out of morning patrols so you can get a nice break in... unless you want to go, of course."
martenfang then heard the call of her alpha, knowing this meant she'd have to bid doeprance goodbye for now. "welp, deputy duties call," she mewed, offering the other she-cat a dulcet chuckle. "i'll see ya later, doeprance!"
martenfang then started over toward her alpha, long legs taking even longer strides. it didn't take long at all to get to her since echostar had also been heading in the deputy's direction.
"good morning, echostar!" martenfang chirped, shoulders raised as she gave a curt and respectful dip of her head. "it sure is! i'll get those morning patrols together right now."
martenfang scanned the camp for some good patrol candidates, opting to assemble the guardian patrol first. tigerfin was already onboard, coming to her side and remaining there, even as she began to walk again. martenfang didn't say anything either; she was still a little peeved off at her brother for going after sealpaw again.
then, out of nowhere, the tabby she-cat spoke. "i'm putting you on a patrol with wolfheart and viperpaw," she told her brother, a faint growl rumbling in her throat as she tried to contain her emotions. "and for the love of starclan, leave sealpaw alone and let whiteflame do his job. and if you see them out on the territory today, please just stick to your own post."
with that, martenfang padded away, trying to suppress the guilt she felt for scolding her brother. but it needed to happen. sealpaw would assimilate just fine as a guardian, but right now he was just having some growing pains. what was the big deal about that?
the deputy cleared the frown off her face as she approached nightwhisper. while the fresh-kill pile looked great, martenfang wanted it to keep looking just as great... meaning a morning hunting patrol was just as needed. "morning, nightwhisper!" she said. "would you mind getting together and leading a morning hunt for me?"
tigerfin
tom | 41 moons | guardian
location: camp | tags: martenfang, wolfheart, viperpaw
tigerfin let out a gruff sigh of exasperation as his sister reprimanded him and then disappeared to finish off her patrol-assigning duties. i know i'm tough on him, martenfang... that's the point. he shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. oh, well. i'll just go find wolfheart and viperpaw, and try not to think about sealpaw's behavior for the rest of the day...
it was unlikely that the two brothers would run into each other again before the sun began to fall from its topmost point in the sky. some patrols lasted well into the early afternoon, and guardian training lasted up until right before dinner. tigerfin trusted whiteflame to keep his little brother disciplined, and secretly hoped that the latter tom didn't think that tigerfin was putting any dirt on his name. whiteflame was older and even more capable a guardian than he, and the last thing he wanted to come across as was disrespectful toward someone his elder.
the dark tabby tom approached wolfheart then, noticing a bit prior that viperpaw was still getting ready -- not that he minded. he, too needed a few moments to relax. "good morning, wolfheart," he said, dipping his head in greeting at the younger guardian. "martenfang put me on morning patrol with you and viperpaw, if that's alright?"
sealpaw
tom | 10 moons | guardian apprentice
location: camp | tags: whiteflame
sealpaw felt a wave of relief wash over him the moment he caught side of his mentor. whiteflame was one of the older guardians -- and, as such, one of the most respected guardians. he felt untouchable when at his mentor's side, especially when it came to tigerfin. tigerfin valued respect, and if tigerfin were to ever talk back to whiteflame... it would show a very clear lack of it.
"g'morning, whiteflame!" the plump tom said with an affable swish of his long, thin tail. his ears then flattened at the mentioning of his bossy older brother, but it also gave him hope -- at least he wasn't the only one who was sick of it. "y-yeah... i'm really starting to get sick of it. i'm really just tryin' my best... and i still have a few moons to go before my assessment, anyway."
sealpaw then tried to liven the mood again; like his older sister, he always wanted to keep things positive. "it's okay, though. i'm sure we're gonna do something fun today that'll get both our minds off of it!"
