Gentleman is acting weirder than ever. He stays alone on patrols and only ever leaves the ashen remains of the Land of Music when training his apprentice. Wildpaw tells Swoop of a Snow Owl that he has been talking about nothing, but Songbird, a cat that he claims has set a fire to the clan and killed many cats in the process. He also claims that Songbird was a kind and charismatic cat, loved by everyone. He would have been a great leader, but he got possessed by a demon. He also said that Wildpaw reminds him of Songbird and that Wild could also one day be possessed. Owl has mixed feelings, but decides it’s time to tell the kits the truth about their father. She gathers them in a place where they can’t be overheard. The kits are surprised. They thought they were orphans, but Owl claims that Songbird brought them to the clan and she knows that he’s their father. The kits know Songbird’s history. For moons he was the talk of the clan. He’s now hated by most and if others knew that they’re his offspring, they would be hated too, maybe even chased out of the clan or killed.

Another thing that bothers the kits is that despite being there physically, Songbird has not acknowledged them as their children. Wildpaw was always his favourite and he actually often visited them in the nursery, but they always thought he was just a nice cat. If he were still alive, they could have at least asked him about their mother.

Owl takes a deep breath and tells the kits one more thing. When Songbird brought them to her, he picked their names and wanted her to tell them their full names when they became warriors. While they’re still apprentices, she recons it’s time to reveal the truth. Wildpaw would be named Wildfire. Morningpaw, Morningash and Spacepaw - Spacesoot. Owl claims that even though Songbird started going insane many moons later, he was planning the massacre for a while and the names were a hint. The most outraged is Spacepaw. The other two got meaningful names, but his is just some joke! He starts shouting, claiming that noone ever cared about him and that he doesn’t care either, about Songbird, about his crimes, his name, anything. He runs off and Morningpaw wants to stop him, but Owl tells her to let him be.

While they’re having a chat they hear a mad laughter coming from a distance. They all rush there to see Gentleman with a flaming branch in his mouth. He drops it on the ground and starts saying that he too will summon a demon, just the way Songbird did and he will take over the clan and rebuild this place from the ashes of what he lost. His kits are terrified seeing this. Bacup and Shark try to talk him out of it, but it only seems to make things worse and spite him. Northstar watches the display for a moment, but when Gentleman starts making terrifying noises that sound as if he was actually possessed, she orders her knights to kill him. Aristaeus is the first to act and quickly ends his life.

Northstar orders the clan to put out the fire and go back to their tasks. The era of the mad cats is no more. There will be no democracy allowed any more as apparently noone cat handle the pressure of being a leader besides her. However, there will be new rules coming into place in the clan the next moon. She announces a meeting that must be attended by everyone where she will explain everything. The kits mourn their father, but not much, they never had great contact with him.

Both Songbird and Gentleman are now dead. The two ex-leader’s of the clan’s first camp. They may have both had great intentions, but ended up not being good cats or even good fathers. Their kits are left with many questions and the rest of the clan being distrustful of them. At least, they don’t know that Morning-, Wild- and Spacepaw are related to Songbird. At least, not yet.

Rainstorm is mad, even more so after Aristaeus starts boasting to him about being appointed new head knight by Northstar. He will lead his own patrol from now on and will no longer have to deal with Rain.

Zoe and Amber leave the clan. They see another cat go mad and get killed. Even more lands their way in the Sylph’s den. Zoe tried so hard to get her sister to leave and go back home with her, but failed, she had learned that she can’t force others under her will and has to let them learn on their own mistakes. They both love their son more than anything in the world and that’s why they don’t want to stay in the clan and watch it get hurt and waste it’s life away as a warrior. They decide to return to Zoe’s old home and become kittypets, but only after Slowclouds’ kits are delivered.

Nightfall encounters an elder during patrol. Northstar has instructed them not to invite elders into their clan as they’re useless and a waste of space and resources. If it was up to him, he would have accepted the elder with open paws to give him a peaceful retirement he deserves. With an aching heart he’s about to say that the elder will have to look for luck elsewhere, but Whetley interjects, inviting the cat. She explains that he reminds her of Gentleman. He had just lost his life because noone noticed that he needed help in time. Besides, they can’t just reject a cat in need. She is sure that Northstar will understand. Nightfall says that she will be the one negotiating with her. She’s already mad with him for bringing two queens into the clan.

A couple of herbs disappear from the clan’s stash, but noone notices since Amber is no longer there.

WEATHER !!

NEWLEAF || The sun begins to peek through the leaves as the dark and heavy clouds of Leafbare roll away. Birds begin to trill earlier in the morning, and the hibernating rodents stir from their slumber as they seek out meals to fill their aching bellies. Prey will be easier to catch, and kittings will grow easier on mothers. Cats are less desperate for homes and will be friendlier to patrols. However, with warmer weather comes more danger. Predators are no longer hungry and vicious, but they have full bellies and growing muscle. They lay unseen, waiting to attack. Twolegs sightings grow more common as well, though cats do not know why the strange creatures seem to prefer warmer weather.

• Wolfsong's patrol was going smoothly until a low snarling filled the area. A small pack of dogs prowled out from the nearby bushes, circling the patrol in an ambush. The patrol manages to scatter, weaving between the dogs and climbing up trees. They exhausted themselves, and Wolfsong, Drizzlespeck, Spireecho, Vanillabean, and Leopardwing will all need x1 moon of rest. Unfortunately, a dog managed to grab Ravencall's tail and drag them down to the ground. After sustaining several injuries, they managed to get away. “Shadedleaf’s death the previous moon had hit the clan hard, especially for those in Caveclan who’d been there the longest. Morningstar had been stunned when Cloudpool brought Shadedleaf’s body back, his hazel eyes darkening with pain at the loss of his oldest friend. Shadedleaf and Morningstar had been friends even before Caveclan had been formed and she’d been one of the first to join the clan. The clan held a vigil with nearly all of the clan showing up to share their respects with the former medicine cat. Cloudpool crouched next to his mentor, eyes glazed with grief and guilt. Dappleleaf was next to him, shifting positions every once in a while in an attempt to get comfortable. With the kits due any day now, the queen found it difficult to get comfortable. “I should’ve saved her,” Cloudpool whispered brokenly. His mate shook her head, nuzzling into Cloudpool’s fur. “She sacrificed herself to make sure that you were safe.” Dappleleaf assured him. “There wasn’t much you could have done. She wanted you to survive.” Cloudpool acknowledged her words with a dull nod, letting his head rest sadly on his paws. Dappleleaf’s words soothed him, but it didn’t change the fact that Shadedleaf was gone and he hadn’t helped her.
Shadedleaf’s burial was a quick affair the next morning as every cat was eager to leave for the moonpool. Each time a Caveclan cat died or new kits were born, the clan gathered at the moonpool to announce the news to Starclan. A death was the clan’s opportunity to share tongues with their deceased clanmates one last time. The Starclan cats did not leave their hunting grounds when Caveclan’s kits were born but the clan could feel their lost friends and family watching over them as every cat celebrated the births of new kits. Morningstar led the clan to the moonpool, with only a few cats choosing to stay behind to protect the camp and kits left behind with the other queens. As the Caveclan cats filtered into the moonpool clearing, several starry figures began spiraling down from the sky, their forms becoming clearer as the Starclan cats joined their living counterparts. Cloudpool took in the familiar faces, joy fizzing through his veins. A familiar ebony she-cat stood beside a ginger and white kit, her eyes finding her family in the crowd. “Maplekit!” Larkfeather’s cry drew Cloudpool’s eyes to the calico queen as she raced up to her son, greeting him with loud, eager purrs. She was the only queen who’d come this time as the other queens had offered to watch her still surviving kits. The ebony she-cat who had been watching over Maplekit stepped away, allowing the mother and son to reunite, and searched the crowd for her own family. Her mate, Ferretclaw, had stayed behind to protect the camp and kits, but Tigerjaw and Willowtail happily approached Ebonywing, overjoyed to see their mother once more. Cloudpool watched Woolyfur and Silvernose, along with their daughter Thymepool reunite with their son Gingerface while nearby, Fireface greeted his friend Chiveclaw. Finally, Cloudpool watched as Deerpelt touched noses with Rippleshade and Grey, welcoming the new elder with a friendly expression. Cloudpool made a mental note to check on Rippleshade when the clan went back. It had been moons since the old tom had left camp and even though it wasn’t too long of a walk, it wasn’t an easy journey for the elder. Cloudpool’s gaze roamed the clearing anxiously as he searched through the crowd, his eyes shining as he spotted his mentor touching noses with Morningstar and Rowanfur. Shadedleaf looked as young and strong as she had been during life, no trace of the dog’s vicious attack lingering on her starry black fur. As Morningstar and Rowanfur moved on to the rest of their clanmates, Cloudpool raced over to his former mentor. Shadedleaf purred, green eyes glinting fondly as Cloudpool approached.
“I’m so sorry Shadedleaf!” The words tumbled out of him, a rush that he couldn’t quite control. “This shouldn’t have happened. I should have chased off the dog!” Shadedleaf shook her head. “Don’t do that. Don’t try to guilt trip yourself. The dog would’ve killed us both if I hadn’t chosen the way I did. I chose to lure the dog away, knowing that no matter what happened, Caveclan’s in more than capable paws with you as their medicine cat.” Shadedleaf told him firmly. Cloudpool was quiet for a moment, staring at her. “I can’t do this without you Shadedleaf.” The former medicine cat’s eyes softened and she gave Cloudpool a lick on the top of his head as if he was a kit again. “You’ll be wonderful.” She assured him, “I’ve been watching you, these last few moons especially. I’ve been so proud of how dedicated you are to caring for the clan and they are lucky to have you.” Shadedleaf gazed fondly at Cloudpool, pride shining in her green eyes. Cloudpool felt himself relaxing, relief finally fizzing through the tom’s veins.
His relief at knowing Shadedleaf believed in him didn’t last long however. Shadedleaf and the rest of Starclan faded from view, their bodies becoming more and more translucent until Cloudpool could no longer see them. Cloudpool stiffened, his fur beginning to bristle as the medicine cat glanced wildly around the moonpool clearing. Even his clanmates had gone. Caveclan had arrived at the moonpool at sunhigh but now, the clearing seemed completely transformed. In an instant, it was no longer day and a huge full moon shone bright in the dark sky. Cloudpool looked around wildly, but he could not see his former mentor or any of his clanmates. Instead, he watched with growing horror as the moon’s bright light began to dim as a red stain bled across its surface. The stars closest to the moon began flickering slowly and flickering rapidly a few moments later. As their flickering sped up, the other stars began to flicker as well. One by one, the stars stopped winking, hanging as dark and cold in the sky. Even the little bit of light provided by the red moon could not do much as a thick, oppressive darkness pressed around Cloudpool from all sides. An unfamiliar voice began whispering, sounding as if it came from all around, echoing hauntingly. As the darkness began to lighten, an eerie mist rolled in with unnatural swiftness, keeping Cloudpool’s view of anything barely beyond his paws obscured. “The stars wil turn their light away from the moon, despairing as the clan echoes a darkness from within. But shells are hard to break and the fog can illuminate a new path.” Shadedleaf’s voice sounded ghostly cold next to his ear but as Cloudpool looked around wildly, he could not see her.
Cloudpool blinked and the vision was gone, with no sign of the foreboding red moon and the mist. His clanmates and the Starclan cats were back, as if nothing had happened. Shadedleaf stood in front of him still, calm as ever, watching him solemnly. “Do not grieve for too long, your clanmates need you. You are all they have now. '' Shadedleaf nuzzled Cloudpool fondly and across the clearing, Cloudpool’s clanmates were exchanging their own goodbyes to their Starclan counterparts. Cloudpool’s eyes widened as Shadedleaf’s starry form began glimmering as she prepared to return to Starclan. “Shadedleaf wait!” But the Starclan cats were gone. The words of Starclan’s prophecy rolled around in the tom’s mind, making him shiver as he looked over his clanmates. He didn’t know what the prophecy meant yet but Shadedleaf was right. With the prophecy hanging over all of their heads, Cloudpool’s clanmates would need him more than ever.

--With the arrival of many kits, the clan has to pause near the outskirts of the swamps still. Sableheart is lost after getting too close, the blow devastating to poor Scorchlight, who has already lost too many family members. She seeks out Agatewhisker, keeping her brother close as they reminisce about Ebonyflower and Sableheart. The leaders sense her despair, knowing they will have to wait to keep going for the sake of the newborn kits and the queens, though Scorchlight wants nothing more than to leave the swamps behind her forever.
--Orchardpatch and Resinburr, found separately, make their way into life in ChaosClan, despite the uncertainty of what they are walking into. To these two, anything is better than being stuck near alligator infested swamps. Resinburr attaches himself to Sealstripe, both of whom have always seems more like outcasts rather than fitting in with a group in a clan. Orchardpatch and Grizzlybear hit it off right away, both able to bond over the losses of their brothers, sadly stating how much alike their brothers were and how they would have been likely great friends.
--Clovershade is immensely protective of their kits, vowing to keep them safe no matter the cost. She also agrees to take in the kits Alpineheart and Aniblaze have, her small grouping never far from her side. As the new queens recover, the clan slowly starts moving again in the Newleaf sun, taking their time and taking turns carrying the mewing kits on their backs. Though reluctant at first, Clovershade agrees to let Scorchlight take the burden of carrying one of her kits each time the clans moves, never letting the little tom out of her sight. Slowly, surely, the swamps get further behind ChaosClan, and they can leave what they left in their past, though they will never forget the family they've lost along the way...

ixxx▬viperfang was the volunteer to carry her still form back to camp. he wept silently, his heart aching, head low and ears drooping. why her? he asked inwardly, his stomach heavy.
ixxx▬sealfisher, though he and winesnap had never been quite the best of friends, was mourning the loss of the only cat that knew him before he joined totemclan. they had travelled to totemclan together, relied on just one another for many moons, hunted in tandem and shared a nest in the cold evenings. he couldn't rip his gaze from her body draped over viperfang's back; he should have known something was wrong, he should've been able to tell, he should've -
ixxx▬the bump of ficusfrown against his flank drew him from his self-torment. the grey-and-white tomcat shook his head shortly. "don't blame yourself," his voice was low, for sealfisher only.
ixxx▬sealfisher sighed, dreading every pawstep that drew them closer to camp and made the inevitable draw closer. he was not eager to inform the clan of it's first death, much less one that happened on a patrol he was leading.

ixxx▬the camp was blanketed with a muffled quiet; voices were not quite so joyous, kits were not quite so playful, apprentices were not quite so boastful after their training excursions.
ixxx▬and that quiet only seemed to grow more tense when clambite and his gaggle of kits were led into the clan by baldstar's patrol.
ixxx▬moraymouth had been outside of the apprentices den, tussling with hitchpaw and kiyipaw in a mock fight, when eelpaw shrieked "dad!" and bounded over at top speed, skidding to a halt a mere whisker length away.
ixxx▬moraymouth's eyes were wide with shock; he'd never expected to see his other kits again. but his kits being here must also mean -
ixxx▬moraymouth cast his gaze up from eelpaw, past him, to where baldstar stood with clambite. his former mate, his lover, his confidant, the father of his kits. his stomach flipped - they had parted ways mutually, though it still stung to see his ex-mate once more.
ixxx▬moraymouth padded closer with hesitation. "it's wonderful to see the kits again," he mumbled to clambite, who said nothing, only turning his eyes elsewhere to avoid looking directly at moraymouth. clambite's heart was betraying their agreement to no longer be emotionally involved. they'd decided it was for the better for both of them - clambite wanted a big family, wanted to settle down and spend his evenings watching the sunset with the same partner until they both grew old and weary. moraymouth... was still a bachelor at heart. he loved his kits, sure, but he wasn't ready to be a husband. he wanted to enjoy himself while he still could, and looking after a mate and kits was not a part of that itinerary.
ixxx▬but as the rest of moraymouth's kits surrounded him and began chattering about what they'd done while they'd been away, his heart gave a pang. maybe someday he could reconcile things, he thought. but today, he would enjoy seeing his children once more.

ixxx▬yumapaw's mouth tasted bitter, and it wasn't from the multitude of herbs and brews wizard had her sipping. all she had done for the past moon was watch her siblings advance faster than herself, watch sourpaw brag and boast and strut around practicing his fighting techniques. she wasn't jealous, no way! but...
ixxx▬she couldn't help herself from wanting to prove that she was just as capable. and so, wincing as the cobwebs stretched around the wounds on her flank, she rose to her paws, giving a swift glance around the cave to ensure that none of the healers would catch her.
ixxx▬and then she snuck out of the healers' den, and then she snuck out of the camp.
ixxx▬her hunting patrol did not go as well as she'd hoped, however. the pain became unbearable quicker than she'd expected, and her breath dissolved into a wheeze as she attempted to track a small squirrel. her rasp gave her away, and the squirrel scampered off just as yumapaw collapsed into a heap on the dirt.

ixxx▬the nursery was bustling with new life as yumapaw's own threatened to fade. matchkit, with her dark eye circles and teensy mews, and blackkit, with his ebony pelt and observant eyes, were tucked against sweetdrop's tummy. her tongue rasped against vixenface's head, who had her own two offspring in the crook of her paws as she groomed them gently.
ixxx▬baldstar was behind sweetdrop, with his spine pressed against hers, batting a mossball gentle back and forth as his two near-identical kits - save for their mismatching eyes - as they observed with big peepers.

- Brushing accompanies Ruestrike to comfort the families in the nursery

- Briarcreek wants to go back to her warrior duties, but feels like she can't leave Slitear

at last, the thaw has come. flower buds replace snowdrifts, and the land is freed from frost.
clan can expect to find more prey, more herbs, and more cats looking for a home. however,
predators have started coming out of hiding as well, and may pose extra threats in the nice
weather; beware to those who try to challenge them.

herb hunting results
• the healers gathered x1 marigold, x1 cobwebs, x1 chervil, x1 holly berries, x1 daisy leaves, and x1 tansy.

training results
• unfortunately, emblempaw failed to learn hunting this moon and returned to camp with a limp. while hunting hunting a rabbit, the prey turned in fear and lashed out at emblempaw with dirty claws, resulting in an infected injury which will need to be treated with x1 marigold, x1 chervil, and x1 moon of rest.
• gourdpaw failed to learn swimming this moon after she jumped into the shallow end of the water by accident and received several minor scratches from the jagged rocks. she will need to take x1 moon of rest to recover.
• cinderpaw and gothpaw failed to learn anything this moon, but they can try again next moon.
• all of the other weaklings passed and learned their respective skills this moon.

assessment results
• unfortunately, jasperpaw failed her assessment after she struggled to show off her offensive skills. instead, she sustained minor bleeding and will need to take x1 moon of rest to recover properly.
• sunstonepaw failed his assessment this moon. thankfully, he can try again next moon!
• amberpaw, blueberrypaw, and sapphirepaw passed their assessments and are ready to be welcomed as full members of tundraclan.

• coalbreak's patrol caught x1 rabbit, x1 snake, and x1 vole. however, they returned home after snowflare was attacked by a fox who was attracted to the smell of fresh-kill. though the patrol was able to quickly chase the fox away, snowflare sustained deep scratches which will need to be treated with x1 blackberry leaves, x1 dock, x1 cobwebs, and x2 moons of rest to heal.
• dusteye's patrol caught x1 large bird and x1 mouse.

• mintpaw passed and learned a skill this moon. however, he scraped his shoulder and sustained major bleeding which will need to be treated with x1 marigold, x1 raspberry leaves, and x2 moons of rest to recover.
• midnightpaw passed and learned a skill this moon. however, while training, he stepped on a thorn. despite his better judgement, he decided to finish up the training session before going to see the medicine cats. but, by the time he was treated, his paw had become infected and midnightpaw will need to be treated with x1 stinging nettle, x1 sweet sedge, and x1 moon of rest to heal properly.
• saffronpaw failed to learn a skill this moon after wrenching a claw during the session. the medicine cats determine that the wound has become infected and that saffronpaw will have to take x1 moon of rest to let her paw heal before she should return to training.
• all of the other apprentices passed and learned a skill this moon.

• harepaw passed his final assessment and is ready to become a full member of auroraclan.
• unfortunately, hyenapaw failed his final assessment, as he was too tired and overwhelmed after training with creamfoot this moon as well. thankfully, he can try again next moon.

Ceremonies: Snowkit and Gingerkit become paws. Snowpaw is apprenticed to Greyspot and Gingerpaw is apprenticed to Fallleaf.

New Members: A cat named Mudpuddle joins the clan. Not much to say, sadly.

Herb finding: Greyspot gets aid from Greycloud with finding herbs.
